Well hello again,

Gosh I hope that you are all staying well and truly dry and our thoughts are with the people that have been flooded.

If you are looking for some special paper, you have just got to check out this range from Kaiser called 'These Days' collection. it is just stunning and really suitable for your special photos.

In my layout I have used the paper teamed with the Die Cut stickers, which I must say are just gorgeous!!!!! clocks, bunting oh and did I mention ........flowers.... LOL. You may notice that I put eyelets through the bunting and then threaded the organza ribbon which I knotted.

Just thought I would quickly share the birthday card I made for my boy for his 7th birthday!

If you have been following this month's challenge you will have seen my post using the Echo Park papers. The card I had made was more of a female take on the paper collection.

Here I have again used the Echo Park - A Boys Life collection....this time with a little more of a little boys take. I have also used the La-La-Land Crafts Stamp 'Lil' Rocker Luka' and my Copic Markers.

I just love how my card turned out. When Brayden opened it on his birthday his reaction made my day....."Mum, oh wow, you made this card for me!" He loved it!

FEBRUARY LOVE

Here we are again, new month and new challenge, which was set my Monicathis month.

‘The Challenge for February is toscrap a layout dedicated to someone or something that is cherished. It could be a person or even a place, book orfamily heirloom. Also tell the storyabout them/it and why this is special to you. A stamped image and hearts must be used.’

February is such a very special month to me and my family, as it is whenwe lost our Toby in a motor bike accident. Without putting a dark cloud over the challenge, it allowed me to have abit or ‘therapy’ and for the first time I did express exactly how I was feeling on the day I put this layout together. I only scrap any of Toby’s photos on anoccasional basis, especially his teen years. However, I got cracking on this photo of Toby as it is one of myfavourites…….so many memories is one solitary photo!

Ok, having said all that let me explain the items used in my layout ...,

which Jo @SCRAPBOOKIT so kindly sentme for this challenge. Such a beautifulrange from Little Yellow Bicycle ‘Hello Fall’ Collection , together withcardstock/chipboard pieces & shapes. The cardstock is from the new Kaiser range and this iscalled ‘Tangerine’. I used a stamp fromDarkroom Door and my alphas are from Sassafraslass, Adorn It and Kaiser.

The little blobs of ink are Tim Holtz ‘rusty hinge’ which I just blottedonto the paper. I did some ‘wet’ paperrolling and finished off with a new technique I learnt, namely cutting calicoshapes, painting , modge podge some little pieces of paper and then sewing around the shape. This would have to be my most favouritetechnique at the moment!!! LOL. Here isa closer look.

Here is my little card that I also created using the same collectionfrom Little Yellow bicycle, with some heart shapes and the pattern paper hadlittle cross stitches, so I decided to sew around the frame for a texturedeffect.

Well hope that this and the other work by our great Design Team haveinspired you for this new challenge and look forward to seeing everyone’slayouts in the SCRAPBOOKIT Gallery.

Hey Everyone,

Mel here! What a fantastic challenge we have happening here at Scrapbookit this month. I have had a ball doing this challenge - a blessing after a huge beginning to the school year - thanks Monica for the crafty goodness you have supplied for us!

Layout Challenge:

Scrap a layout dedicated to someone or something that is cherished. It could be a person or even a place, a book a family heirloom. Also tell the story we want to know why this is special to you. You must include these embellishments............ hearts and a stamped image.

When I read about this challenge my mind started going wild with all of the possibilities.....so much so that I think I may use this challenge again and again and again!

I decided to use a photo of my two boys that I just adore (I adore the boys and I adore the photo)! I have been holding on to this photo for the right moment, the right paper collection before I scrap it. The photo was a little bit of a fluke (don't you love when that happens) and was taken at Little Bay, Sydney.

My layout is called..."My Everything"

I have used the Echo Park Paper Company - A Boy's Life collection. This paper collection is so yummy, so versatile and so bright and vibrant.

I have also used the Kaisercard - Navy and Fern. This was the first time I have used Kaisercard. It went well.....a few finger marks appeared but that happens to me on any cardstock I use!

In this challenge we are asked to tell the story of why we cherish and find this special to us. My page (to me) is extremely special. I took the opportunity to tell the boys what they mean to me. Sometimes when you are scrapbooking these sorts of moments, memories or occasions the journalling is something you don't want for everyone to see. This was the case for me. So, I created a hidden journalling pocket for my journalling to go in. Check it out....

I used an envelope. I cut off the flap, covered the envelope in paper and created a tag that fits snuggly into the envelope. I added a brad to assist in the case of pulling out the journalling card.

In the photo above you can see the flower embellishments I have used. All I have done is flattened some Kaisercraft Paper Blooms and hidden them under the paper layers. A more masculine way to make use of your flowers.

I have used some Kaisercraft Clear Stamps for my stamped image and a gorgeous heart shaped stencil to complete those components for the challenge.

I tested a Jenni Bowlin - Ink Pad called Seed Packet. There are some gorgeous colours in the range. It was nice to work with and really easy to apply to papers and a variety of other products. Why not give it one a try and see if you love it too? - Get it here!

Now for my card. You can find the sketch on the right hand side of the page. Again another great challenge. Just to show you the versatility of the Echo Park Paper Company's A Boy's Life I have used some of the patterned paper to create a more feminine card.

I stuck also to the idea of hearts and a stamped image. It is amazing what you can with just one paper collection, isn't it?

Hello everyone! Well it's my turn to share with you all my take on this month's LOVEly challenge! ;)

The challenge is to scrap someone or something that is truly cherished. I made a bee-line to one of these recent pics of my adorable daughter, Heidi... and scrapped it!

My layout is called "Cherish"...

I have used a delightful new range from Echo Park called Yours Truly. This collection is really classic and elegant but also fresh and funky!

Here I've used the alpha stickers and the cute elements stickers that are included along with the 12x12 Alphabet Sticker sheet.

The Green Tara Red Satin Leaf Garland really ties in well with this collection. :)

I've made a stamped frame on my page by laying transparency over my photo and stamping around the outside of the photo with Prima's Ruby Violet funky flower stamps (Collection #1). I then cut around my frame, coloured in some of the flowers with a pink marker, then finished them off with a bit of bling. :)

The cardstock base for my layout is by Kaisercraft, and the colour is called "Scarlett".

And now for my card...

So I've used the same Echo Park collection ("Yours Truly") as my layout, plus I've also added a gorgeous bunch of these stunning rosebuds. They are so lush! There are so many flowers to choose from in store!

Challenge Inspiration

Hi everyone!

Did you do anything special for Valentine's Day?

Hubby and I are saving it all for this weekend! We are having

a weekend by ourselves minus the children!

Total bliss!! I am so looking forward to it!

So, the challenge is to scrap someone or something that

is truly cherished.

While I was tidying up the girls room, I came across

this guy and knew he would be perfect for

this month's challenge!

Meet Duckie, my 4 year old Daughter's favourite toy...well

he's more than a toy actually...........

I've used the entire right hand side of the layout

for my journaling - this special Duckie

needed his story told ;0)

Jo sent me a pizza box of Echo Park yummies!

I just love Echo Park and the Yours Truly collection

is another brilliant addition to their selection.

I've used the Journaling cards to add a bit of detail - these

are fantastic for journaling, or to fill in gaps

in your design ;0)

I've used some American Craft Thickers for the title.

By placing your title askew, you can make it fit around your

design and a quirky look can be eye catching also ;0)

This little birdie is my stamped image.

Isn't he cute? He is from a stamp set I found in my stash.

Those puffy flowers are adorable!

I've used the element stickers to make this banner!

I just love how easy these element stickers make the

scrapbooking process!

Its Challenge time!!!

Good morning everyone,

I hope you were all spoilt yesterday by your loved one's for Valentines day, isn't the year zooming along already with the kids back at school and most people back at work and back to routine. its time for our new challenge and this month Monica Brady has set a great challenge just for the month of 'Love'.

Monica's Layout challenge:

Seeing it's February, the month of love.....I thought we could scrap a layout dedicated to someone or something that is cherished. It could be a person or even a place, a book a family heirloom. Also tell the story I want to know why this is special to you. Also incluse these embellishments............ Hearts and a stamped image ;0)

Here is what I have chosen to do, this was a very special time for my daughter Brittany as she leaves the comfort of primary school and being one of the big kids, to starting her new adventure at high school. Graduation night was held at a local restaurant, with all her friends and parents sharing a great meal and some good laughs. Im sure this LO will be a lovely reminder when she looks back at it of a special time in her school journey.

I have used the Kaisercraft range Sweet Nothings, including the embellishments from the collectables pack. I have used lots of ribbons and flowers, pearls and I embossed my heart shapes.

Monica has chosen a sketch for this months card challenge:

Here is my take on the sketch using the Kaisercraft 6x61/2" paper pad from the Hummingbird range . These paper pads are just fantastic for your card making projects.

Hi there! I would like to share two more pages that I've created using Echo Park's new collection, "Yours Truly".

This collection is so great - it's perfect for scrapping the ones that you love, but also it's fantastic for so many other kinds of layouts - it's not restrictive at all! For instance, my first layout, which is displayed on the post below, was about my daughter's artwork...

This page shows a self-portrait with some random "fun" facts about me...

So, using Echo Park's "Yours Truly" (aptly titled for this layout! LOL!); I've used up a few scraps of "Smitten" around the sides so that isn't a full sheet behind the black cardstock there, it's just 3 skinny strips... I've used up some more of it on my "Milky Mo'" layout (which is my second share today)... hahaha.... gotta love that title! :D

A couple of closies too...

The "paint" drips aren't actually paint - they are StazOn refill tube drops - a nice consistency for drips... and very glossy too! ;)...

And now for my layout, "Milky Mo'"... ;)

I caught these cute pics of Heidi enjoying her strawberry thickshake, so I simply had to roll with the fun "strawberry thickshake vibe"... it was fun! :D

I created the theme of my page with the colours and cute details like white sequins, which represent bubbles...

And another closie....

But wait! One more...

I've used Kaisercraft Cardstock in "Fuzzy Peach" with Echo Park's "Yours Truly" here - isn't "Yours Truly" versatile?!

I have used EP's Alpha stickers on both layouts - you get so many alphas on the one sheet, with different styles too! I also adore the little sayings and symbol stickers on there too. None go to waste! :)

A new collection from Echo Park...

Hi there! I am a big fan of Echo Park. Their collections are usually bright and bold, so they suit me to a "T"! Plus I like to mix 'n' match EP collections, too!

Here's one of my latest layouts that I have scrapped - it's a pic that I took last year of my daughter's Magna Doodling artwork!

I think this crocodile is amazing for a three year old! :)

I've used Echo Park's new line "Yours Truly" mostly here - love those polka dots and chevrons - don't you? Such awesome, bold patterns! :)

You can also spy some of Echo Park's trusty "For The Record" too. That collection would have have to be one of my all time faves of any manufacturer! A true classic!

I sometimes like to make the elements on my layouts POP even more by doodling around the edges.

I made those little paint circles by stamping the bottom of the paint tube lid directly onto my layout - no mess at all! When I needed more paint I just squeezed a teeny bit out of the upright tube to cover the lid again.

January/February Challenge

Welcome to the last week of January and the first week of February and here at Scrapbookit we are continuing on with our challenge for the first two months of the year!

Yes! That is right! You still have a few weeks to enter your interpretation from this challenge. Follow the challenge rules, complete your layout and/or card and email photos of your entries to Jo (click here or see email address on the right) by February 14th.

I have just stopped into the Gallery to check out the entries so far....and wow! The entries are amazing! When setting this challenge I couldn't wait to see what everyone came up with. My expectations have been well and truly exceeded.

Not to mention our awesome design team and the amazing interpretations they have come up with.....thanks ladies!

You may recall my first reveal for this challenge when I mentioned that the gorgeous

Little Black Dress by Basic Grey screamed wedding layout or family history. Well, I couldn't help myself and have now created a wedding layout to satisfy that prediction!

Here it is.....

I haven't really followed the this month's challenge rules....however why not create a 8 and 1/2" by 11" layout (non traditional shaped) if you are not comfortable with another shape!

Not so long ago I was reading Australian Scrapbook Ideas and the lovely Nikki Antonello did a feature using some stamps. I used her idea to stamp the word 'love' several times on my layout.

I have layered a few small strips of paper and ribbon under the photo to keep the photo the focus.

I just love the Thickers - get them here - I have used for the title.

I have used one Kaisercraft Paper Bloom - get them here - amongst several small handmade paper roses and some hand drawn swirls.

Here is a close up...

Speaking of Kaisercraft Paper Blooms.....here is a quick and easy card using the flowers.

All I have done is placed the flowers where I wanted them and used some Pritt glue - get some here - to secure them to the card. I added a bow from ribbon, a title using the stickers from the Little Black Dress Collection and some Tiny Kaiser Alpha Stickers.

Although not so easy to send in the post.....effective anyway!

Well I hope this has given you some inspiration to get your challenge entry in.

JANUARY CHALLENGE

Well hello again, Liz here hoping that everyone is back in the swing of things and getting lots of scrapbooking done.
This month’s challenge was set by Mel and such a great Challenge, certainly one to get the mind working overtime, lucky it is holiday time!!!

The challenge that was set is as follows:-

*Layout Theme :- "Looking Forward, Looking Back" ( You must use these words somewhere on your layout).
*Non traditional shaped layout.
*Must have :- Buttons, Ribbon, and at least 1 other embellishment.
*Quote for Inspiration :- (You may or may not choose to use this on your layout) "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination." (James Dean).

I was lucky enough to have received the beautiful collection from SCRAPBOOKIT from Kaiser ‘Hummingbird’.http://www.scrapbookit.com.au/ I made a large tag to team with the beautiful bracket die cut. Distressed Core’dinations cardstock and used the collections Alpha, Stickers and die cuts. The bird cage is a sticker which I mounted on cardstock and then cut around.

Mel’s card challenge was :-

Non Traditional shaped card;
Must use 2 patt. Papers, paint, masking tape and of course flowers!!!! Just for me LOL.

So here is my card, I chose to do a ‘slide’ card, this card gives you the chance to do some sewing to encase the inner message card . I used masking tape on the tag and then painted & modge podge it. I used flowers with the button on the ‘pull up’ tag.

And I hope that you like it this photo shows the inside of the card after it is pulled open.

Hi everyone! Well I really enjoyed this month's challenge, set by Mel! It's er... challenging! In the best way possible! I love a good challenge and this one is very "doable" and at the same time really different! :D

So! For the Layout Challenge you must follow this criteria.

This month I was thrilled to work with the gorgeously pretty "Ruby Violet" line by Prima! Wow, hey! I'm very lucky!

So here is my layout, "Looking Back..."

Yes, that's me in the pics! :)

So I've used the words "Looking back" & Looking forward" in my title and journalling. CHECK!

I have a non-traditional shaped layout - I've outlined and cut around the "Ditzyfloral" patterned paper - you can check it out in store here. CHECK!

I've got buttons, ribbons and flowers too (flowers being my "other embellishment") - so CHECK CHECKITY CHECK! ;)

The tones of this paper are so lovely - just look at this closie...

And how about those flowers! Stunning hey?! They are Kaisercraft's "Paper Blooms" in Amethyst. I even liked the back of them so that's why I've got one upside down. I think it looks cute!

I just adored using Green Tara's Satin Leafed Garland in Hot Pink on my layout. I simply stapled it into place - it made a really lovely embellishment!

And now for the Card Challenge.

Here's the criteria...

Non Traditional shaped card
Must use: * At least 2 parts of 2 patterned papers, Plus *Paint, *Masking tape, and *Flowers.

And here's my card!

I've used Core'dinations Cardstock in White as my card base (so I've just folded a full 12" x 12" sheet in half), and then I've stamped Prima's Ruby Violet Stamps #1 in a tree-like shape on the front. In this awesome set of stamps, you get four tree branch stamps (two with birds on top!) and I've "built" my tree by using a combination of these stamps and also the three other stamps in the pack, which are different sized flowers. So I've used the whole pack of stamps on this card to make my tree card!

Then I've doodled around my tree, used masking tape as my trunk and then cut out some shapes that I've drawn (eg: the grass) and I've fussy-cut some uber cute flora and fauna from Prima's Ruby Violet patterned papers. Using up alot of my scraps from my layout! :)

I've painted some of the little details on the stamped images with Kaisercraft's Deep Yellow Acrylic Paint. My favourite paint colour at the moment! :D

The last step was simply cutting around the doodled outline at the top, leaving the left folded edge, the base and part of the right side intact.

All the criteria... covered! Great criteria it is, too - don't you think?

Here's a closie so you can see my card's "3Dness" - you see it without the glasses! LOL!

So I hope you have lots of fun with the challenge, entries are due the 14th of February e-mail to Joanne to be in the running for some fabulous prizes!

January challenge exmples

Good morning bloggers!

I must apologize for posting my examples so late.

What do you think of Mel's challenge??

It's a challenge alright and I love it!

Jo sent me these gorgeous papers from

Kaisercraft to play with, the lovely Lil Primrose.

How gorgeous is this collection!! It's so girly and pretty

and has a charming old world feel.

I used Summer Bonnet and trimmed around the main image

for my non traditional shape

and adhered it to some yellow Core'dinations

cardstock for extra support.

I scrapped a photo of me as a toddler sitting with

my Grandma.

I still don't have a camera...I'm finally getting it tomorrow!

So, the colours have come out a bit funny...please

check out the shop to get a truer

colour for these gorgeous papers.

I've added some ribbon, fabric buttons and some

rhinestone strips for my extra embellishment.

My card is also a non-traditional shape.

I've used some of the Collectibles to adorn this card.

Some red paint in the background to make everything pop.

A little masking tape and two patterned papers........

I hope we get lots of entries

in the gallery for this fantastic challenge!

January Challenge

Good morning everyone and I hope that this post finds you well!

I am currently away with my family on our holiday. Every year, in January, we meet with my extended family in Canberra for a catch up. When they all head home Jason, Brayden and I stay a little bit longer. We are in the caravan so it is relaxation to the max....no housework, cooking is EASY and no commitments......what else could you want! Well, I do sneak in a few of scrapping bits and pieces......just in case it rains or the boys fall asleep early!!!

I am SO excited to share with you today.......as you know I set this month's challenge.....and I am so pleased what I came up with.

The challenge....was definitely a challenge that cleared out the cobwebs in my brain.....but I loved it!

It was nice to do something different :0)

Here is the challenge....

RULE #1: Use the theme......"Looking forward, Looking back" (this must be used somewhere on your page).

RULE #2: Your layout must be a Non-Traditional Shaped Layout.

RULE #3: Use buttons

RULE #4: Use ribbon

RULE #5: Use one other embellishment

Here is what I came up with.....

How gorgeous is this collection????

It is the 'Little Black Dress' by Basic Grey.

When I first received the pack from Jo it screamed wedding photos or photos from the family history. But, me being me......I didn't want to do that.

I wanted to share the story of my gorgeous man and his determination to lose weight....a legend in my eyes!!!

So I used the collection to try and make a 'man friendly' page.

I used some gorgeous Thickers for my title and the brackets. I have used several buttons and have gathered some of the gorgeous ribbon to make a flower.

How versatile is this collection....why not pop in and see Jo to get your hands on some...it suits all types of memories!

Card Challenge

As with the layout, I have stayed on the 'non -traditional' shaped theme for the card. You must also use parts of at least 2 patterned papers, paint, masking tape and at least one flower.

Here is my card....

I decided to relinquish and go with the wedding theme. Again using the gorgeous 'Little Black Dress' collection.

I had lots of fun doing this card. I printed a heart shape from my computer to trace the outline, punched some circles from two patterned papers and have used acetate to create a see through front.

I swiped a small amount of black paint on the inside of the acetate and on the front used some small pieces of masking tape to place my message.

I used the 'Green Tara - Organza Rosette' ribbon....trimming them into flowers to cover the 'flower' part of the challenge. Click here to grab some from Scrapbookit.

I used some more paint and masking tape on the inside of the card as well as some of the stickers from the 'Little Black Dress' collection.

Well, I hope that you have enjoyed my post today....Really looking forward to seeing how you interpret this challenge....I certainly had HEAPS of fun!

New Year & a New Challenge

I hope your year is heading in the right direction for a fabulous year.
The challenge for this month has been set by the wonderful Mel Field and it is a beauty!! If you thought last month stretched your mojo like a rubber band, lets see what you can come up with this great CHALLENGE!

For the Layout challenge you must follow this criteria.

Layout Theme :- "Looking Forward, Looking Back" ( You must use these words somewhere on your layout.
Non traditional shaped layout.
Must have :- Buttons, Ribbon, and 1 other embellishment.

Quote for Inspiration :- (You may or may not choose to use this on your layout) "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination." (James Dean).

Card Challenge.

Must use: * At least 2 parts of 2 patterned papers, Plus *Paint, *Masking tape, and *Flowers.

Well I must admit when Mel gave me this criteria I said OMG! but when I decided what I would do I had a great time creating my first ever canvas art (inspired by the lovely Nikki Antenello).
So using the new Kaisercraft Lil Primrose , Twiddlebitz Gates ,lots of paint and modge podge, I created this:

For my card I have used the same range and using the Kaisercraft teapot album as a template I have made this (and yes there is a little strip of masking tape there). I also have added this cute felt embellishment from Apple Tree Lane Design's.

Christmas Layout and a Sneak Peak!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Mel here....it has been a little while and it is like I have been M.I.A (Missing In Action) but having no internet access has been a little tricky! It appears that all is sorting itself out.....fingers crossed! I hope Christmas and New Year celebrations were as wonderful for you as they were here for us.

I was so lucky, just like the other DT girls to receive some of the Kaisercraft Merry Medley Collection before Christmas from Jo! Finally on Friday I had the opportunity to sit down and use it.
I have been saying every year for the last 6 years...."I must scrap the photos of Brayden and Santa!" This has never happened but on Friday I got two of the photos done and yesterday another.

For the 2010 photo I have used this gorgeous collection ~ 'Merry Medley' I just love the colours in this collection. Here is what I came up with.....

I have used some strips of the 'Lyric' and 'Verse' paper on top of the gorgeous music sheet paper.

I distressed the edges of the papers and used some Timber Brown Staz On ink around the edges including on the Kraft cardstock.

I used some of the patterned papers to cut my own little tags. I added some buttons with some thread tied as a bow and some ribbon for one of the tags.

The Merry Medley - Elfers Sticker Sheet completed my layout with lettering and those gorgeous stockings and bauble.

HOLIDAYS!!!!

Well I know not everyone is on holidays, but for those of you that are, I am sure that there is lots of Scrapbooking happening!!! If you would like some new items to work with such as this gorgeous new range from Kaiser called Hummingbird, Jo @ SCRAPBOOKIT is now open for all your needs.

I just had a play around with the range from 'Simple Stories' to create this card and loved how it came up.

I have loved this time of the year, plenty of cricket to keep hubby occupied and I get to do lots more scrapping. I have created this layout using the 'Hummingbird' collection which is just a beautiful mix of colours and ones that I don't usually work with, so in the end I was perfectly happy with the result.

Don't forget to get you challenge layouts in and keep an eye out for the new challenge which will be up and running very, very soon.

Not Over Christmas......yet

Hello everyone and a Happy New Year to all of you!

I hope your Christmas holidays were filled

with lots of joy, fun and laughter.

We're still not quite over Christmas at our house.

The kids are reluctant to let go of this happy season and quite

often this helps as it's the best time of year to scrap

those happy memories!

I made this layout using the cute and bright Merry Medley collection.

This is such a gorgeous collection of papers,

traditional colours given a modern day feel!

I've swiped red paint as my background then adhered

both sides of Melody as my base.

I've cut out journaling strips out of Verse and made a little

stocking bunting by cutting them out of harmony paper.

This cute little tree is the perfect embellishment and ready

to go, cut out of chorus papers.

I hope this has given you some inspiration to scrap those

Christmas photos. I usually need a little push along

to get started on mine ;0)

Hi everyone and happy new year to you all!

I'd like to share a layout that I made the other day using up some scraps from a variety of gorgeous collections available in store.

Here is my layout...

Using the latest palette at The Colour Room I've used up the following collections;

- Kaisercraft "Sweet Nothings"

- Sassafras Lass "Sunshine Broadcast"

- Echo Park "Splash"

I misted my white Core'dinations cardstock with "Sea Glass" Tattered Angels Glimmermist, using some small paper doilies as masks for my background and voila! A fun, new layout using up my old scraps!

That's all from me today - I hope that perhaps I have inspired you to use up some of those lovely scraps you have around... it's lots of fun! Plus it's a great way to clean up, ready for NEW collections! :D

A Merry Christmas Share...

Hi there everyone! :)

This week, I have had the absolute pleasure in using the totally gorgeous Kaisercraft's Merry Medley line of patterned paper and embellishments from Scrapbookit. I've created three layouts, and I'd like to share them with you today...

First up, is "It's Santa!!". This is my DT sample for the challenge blog, "Get Picky".

This layout is laden with "Merry Medley's" goodness! Just look at those colours! I love that combination! Here's a couple of closies...

I made my background with Kaisercraft Gloss Varnish Paint and Tattered Angels Glimmermist in "Coffee Shop". :)

The second layout I created with this line has been picked up for publication by Scrapbooking Memories magazine for a Three-Step Technique Feature. It will be in Vol 16 Issue 8. :)

Now for my third layout...

Which has been featured this week at The Colour Room!

This is my 2nd feature at TCR. :)

So for this layout, "Christmas Morning Kiss", the colour palette was PERFECT for this collection!!! So that was super handy! I've also used the sketch provided at TCR too.

Because I was literally down to scraps for this layout - I found that I had to become more inventive - I'm really pleased with my Christmas trees; I made some templates with scrap paper by freehand drawing triangles, then I cut some strippy bits (alot were already strips!) and glued them horizontally across the "trees", then snipping them down to size once turned over (to see the template).

I put little "x's" on the top of two of my trees as stars - but they are really "Christmas Kisses" ;)...

One of the really awesome things about this Kaisercraft pp, is the fact that the bottom strip with the barcode etc. actually has a unique pattern on the other side which goes so well with the other papers. So that fact also helped my Christmas trees to "shine"! :D

Well I hope you've enjoyed my Christmassy share today! I hope I've inspired you to give this collection a go - I can't rave about it enough!!!

FEELING GUILTY????

Well are you sitting in your Scrap Room surrounded by your 'STASH' and thinking 'hmmm I would love some of those lovely new items that Jo @ SCRAPBOOKIT has just received'. Well I was thinking the same thing, so I quickly decided to get cracking and use a couple of Collections 'Bits * Pieces', that I had laying around. So I made these 10 quick cards, together with a little box to put them in. So I have hit 'Two birds with one stone' so to speak!!!!! The collection of papers are all gone and I have made a gift and of course the best thing of all I now don't feel guilty about purchasing some new items.

So you should try it, I think it is a wonderful way to use up those 'bits & pieces'.

Not sure if I will do another post before Xmas, so to one and all have a great Christmas break with Family and Friends.

November Challenge

Good morning everyone! Not many sleeps now until the man of the month, Santa, makes his deliveries! I hope that you all have placed your orders for some great pressies!

Christmas is such a busy season…..I do love it and now that our Christmas tree is up it feels more and more like Christmas each day! I bet you are all up to date with your shopping etc…….I am hoping that maybe we might get an extension!!!! (Wishful thinking - I know!)

Even though this season is crazy with busyness I hope that you have had a small window of opportunity to join in on the challenge that the lovely Liz has set for us!

I had a heap of fun working on this challenge…….not to mention the fact that Jason (my hubby) is wrapped that I have scrapbooked a small portion of his memories.

This layout is of Jason with his first birthday present and when he bought his first car. I was a little sneaky…..I didn’t have a 5x7” photo, so I put two together to make one!

I have used one of the newest Kaisercraft releases ‘On the Move‘ It was different to work with but I really enjoyed it!

I have used a clock stamp to cover the ‘clock’ section of this challenge. I also stamped this in a watermark ink. For the cogs I have used some cut from the patterned paper as well as some of the gorgeous A2Z Scraplets. I painted these black.

For the musical element I have printed on some of the patterned paper a section of the sheet music for the song ‘Turn, Turn, Turn.’ I have also used these words for my title.

Now for my card…………

I have used one song that I love ‘bopping’ to at the moment……..”Jumpstart” by These Kids Wear Crowns. The Grade 6 students at work are using a part of this for their Grade 6 Farewell…….it is played EVERY day so I guess that is why it is stuck in my head. I have used the words Dreams - we got enough that we can fill the tank.

I have used some grey cotton to sew…...which I love to do on my cards and layouts. I have included a tiny little music element. I used my iTop tool for my brad and the New and Improved Kaisercraft Rubons.

Probably my favourite part of the card is the Acetate sheet at the bottom of the card. I have cut that from the 12x12 acetate sheet which is part of the On the Move Collection. I didn’t want to cut it…….it is just gorgeous! I also love the Thickers - do you?

I was so lucky to be able to attend the Scrapbookit Crop Day/Night on Saturday. It was lovely to meet some of our customers and blog readers. We had a ball…...I think I did more talking than scrapping…...but an awesome day anyway! I whipped up this card as an extra………

It doesn’t follow the rules of the challenge but it is a great way to use some of the die-cut shapes in this collection.

Well, if you have made it to the end of my long winded post….I congratulate you and think you deserve a treat!

XMAS - FOOD 4 THOUGHT

Good afternoon one and all,

There I was sitting in my Scrap Room at 6.00 am Saturday morning waiting for my family to arrive to help put up our tree, thinking what can i do while I was waiting for them????

With my xmas shopping done, tree organised and cake made and in between projects, I got out a couple of my Kaiser magazines. I was fortunate to receive from Jo @ SCRAPBOOKIT the latest collection from Kaiser 'Merry Medley'. Then a lightening bolt hit me, well so to speak, so I set to making up a couple of layouts in anticipation of getting some great photos over Christmas.

This first layout is for up to 3 photos and all paper is adhered except for the stars & the doily embellishment, which I will organise once I have the photos. I will then only have to add the title and any thing extra.

This circle layout is for one or 2 photos and set on Kraft card , which ideally suits this Collection. So once again all I have to do is add water.......no just add the photo/s and a title and another layout completed.

At this time of the year we are all a little 'time poor', so what a great way to fill in a little time and also a fantastic way to use the whole Collection.

So perhaps a visit to SCRAPBOOKIT, get yourself some gorgeous xmas Collection papers and set to getting some pre-layouts done for all those lovely photos that you will take over the holiday season!!!!!

December challenge inspiration

Good morning everyone!

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Brisvegas.

It's also the last day of school here and the end of quite days

with just the baby lol! I'm looking forward to the bedlam nonetheless ;0)

So, have you got an entry in for this month's challenge yet?

I loved how different this challenge was! There were so many ways

to interpret it and I chose to go with a Christmas theme.

I got these gorgeous Echo Park, Times and Seasons papers to work with.

Here is my layout...I've scrapped a photo of Corey's second Christmas

and have used "A Time Of Love" lyrics from "Turn, Turn. Turn"

as my title..................

I've used Times and Seasons Alpha stickers for my title

and embellished my layout using the Element stickers . How cute

are these music note stickers? You can find them here .

They are just gorgeous, you get so many in one sheet for a

really , really great price!

I've used some Green Tara Organza Rosette ribbon here - I just love this!!

It is so versatile and easy to work with!

Onto my card....... I couldn't narrow it down to one song so

I went for the song "Oh Hark!" by Lisa Mitchell since

it went with the Christmas theme

See that tiny, minuscule bit of stitching...................

that's my sewing element lol!

Here I cut up that gorgeous Organza rosette trim into individual

roses and clustered them, the colour really stood

out against all that cream and green.

I've used as flower punch here and scattered the flower shapes across

the front of the easel card for some texture. I've added lots of

bling to them - one of them is a teeny bling brad.

I can't wait to see the gallery full of all

your beautiful entries!!

Here is my take on the challenge...

I've used Kaisercraft's "Sweet Nothings" collection for my layout - they have such a timeless appeal! Perfect for this challenge!

So on my layout I've covered all the criteria - I've included a 5"x7" photo (plus another photo), a clock (stamped and cut out)...

BTW - Isn't that rosette trim delightful? It's by Green Tara and you can check it out right here! I've tied a knot in mine and stapled it onto my layout. :)

Here are my cogs! They are A2Z Scraplets Nested Chipboard Cogs. They are so cool! You get SO MANY in one pack (I didn't use them all... not by a long shot!). Here I've separated the cogs from each other and misted each alternating cog in Tattered Angels Glimmermist in Coffee Shop. Then I've simply "re-nested" them together, doodled around the edges for further definition, and stuck a cut-out shape from the Kaiser pp in the middle.

My musical element is my music sheet pp by Kaisercraft (also from the abovementioned collection - Sweet Nothings)

My title is from the song's lyrics... "A time to laugh" - which fit my photos perfectly!

Lastly, I HAD FUN!!! LOL! :D

Now for the card challenge!

The criteria is:

1. Use your favourite song lyrics
2. Include some sewing
3. Brads
4. Musical element

... and once again - fun! :)

Here's my card...

My card is based on the Faith Evan's Song "I Love You", I've hand stitched some twine at the top left, I've put brads in the centre of the abovementioned rosettes (I've simply cut them from the trim to make separate flowers) and YES! I did have fun once again! :D

For my Layout I was very fortunate to receive from Jo @ SCRAPBOOKIT the wonderful new collection from SIMPLE STORIES ' called Happy Day. Such a gorgeous range. The Fob Watch, which I inked with Copper, is from Fern Laser Designs and is available from Jo.

To get the effect of the cogs, I sprayed my mask with Suede Glimmer Mist. I then chose to use some appropriate Lyrics from the song.

Well I hope that you are now inspired and will join in the fun for this Layout Challenge.

Now for the Card Challenge. We have decided that it was an excellent opportunity to find out what all our friends at SCRAPBOOKIT, musical tastes are.

So for this card challenge we would love you to scrap a card using YOUR FAVOURITE SONG/Lyrics. Your card must include some sewing, brads and a musical element and of course have fun.

I created my card on the Lionel Ritchie song 'All night long' and used the beautiful Collection from Simple Stories - Happy Day, did a little sewing (and thought I had broken my machine), but all ok.

I had lots of fun 'Building' this layout using up lots of bits and pieces in my stash, and some older BoBunny paper. My son just loves his Lego.

For this months card challenge Liz has set this criteria:

So here is what I have come up with:

I am a bit of a 'PINK!' fan and I have this song on my phone as my ringtone, so thought this was a fun way to create a card. I dislike sewing with a real needle so as you can see I have done some faux stitching on my card.(sorry Liz).

I just popped in to share my Layout for the Get Picky november sketch challenge and what a challenge! Ovals????? certainly had the mojo thinking but Im happy with the end result.

Here is my take, I have used the new Echo Park Times & Seasons range and added the new Kaisercraft resin flowers and can you guess where the beautiful felt tree embellies come from? Yep thats it 'appletreelane designs'.

Week 5 Inspiration

Well Good morning everyone on this wet and gloomy day in the North East,

I can't wait to share the wonderful work the Design Team have created to inspire that Mojo and get you all scrapping for our last challenge for the Mega Birthday Challenge.

First of all Mel has shared this Layout, using Echo Park Papers and stickers, what a priceless photo to share.

Liz couldn't resist sharing this double Layout using this weeks sketch, what a wonderful way of using all those photo's to share.

This week Monica has created this very cute Layout of her little girl, using the gorgeous Kaisercraft Bonjour paper range. The butterfly ribbon and crafty koala flowers just match so well with this range.

My layout this week was special to me because these are the only photo's of Lockie's birthday I managed to save when my computer crashed(again) and I lost so many of his first real birthday party photo's. Once again I have used some great embellishments I cut out with the Cricut and the Bo Bunny Its my party range of papers.

Hooray!!! It's Scrapbookit's Birthday!!! :D

And what better way to celebrate than with a challenge! Challenges are such FUN!!! Check out this awesome sketch, courtesy of PageMaps.com...

And here is my layout based on the sketch... :)

I've been using the gorgeous collection from Crate Paper "Emma's Shoppe" for my creations this month! :D

For this layout I've used Emma's Shoppe "Dolls" and Emma's Shoppe "Dresses" on a base of Coredinations Cardstock. I've swiped some Kaisercraft White Gloss Varnish over my layout with some scrap paper and I've squirted some Tattered Angels Glimmermist in Coffee Shop (what a versatile colour!!!) into it's lid and dripped some, swiped some, and I even used the lid to do mini coffee mug spill imprints on my layout for something different! I actually did a border (just like the sketch) near the bottom of my layout by using this coffee spill/lid imprint technique and I finished it off by topping each circle off with a white pearl each from Flourish with a Bling... just like cupcakes! ;)

I loved using those cute li'l Prima flowers so much that I not only used them all on this layout, I even used the whole package up! My bottom photo has a bit of the package on the base and the rest of it has been used up at the top...

Now how's that for UPcycling?! What a uber cute photo matte! :)

Now here is my card based on the same sketch...

So basically I've swapped the photos for a lovely image from the aforementioned patterned paper. I fussy-cut this gorgeous girl out, just gave her a li'l bit of a shade with paint (nothing too major) and then I "worked" some creases into her skirt gently with my thumbs for just a little bit of dimension. I then popped a bit of foam tape underneath to add to the effect.

Don't you just love these new American Crafts "Daydream" Thickers? What an awesome colour and font! Super cute!!!

Authentique Collection

Hello everyone,

Well lots of scrapping has been happening this week and I thought I would just share one of the Layouts I have completed using the gorgeous paper that I had received from SCRAPBOOKIT.

The paper is from Authentique and beautiful to work with. I have teamed it with Prima Flower, bird & Butterfly and did a little fussy cutting. I also used Alphabet Thickers which matched perfectly with this lovely collection.

I hope your layouts are coming along nicely for our Challenge Sketches and we have some fabulous work in the Gallery. So trust that you are all joining in the fun.

Week 4 Inspiration

Well good morning everyone,

As we batten down the hatches for the pending storms that are heading our way, I am happy to share this weeks DT layouts. I hope their work inspires you to create something special.

Firstly here is Mel's beautiful page using all these great hearts and a photo of a very proud cousin.

This week Liz has also used butterflies to add a special touch to her page featuring her gorgeous grandaughter.

For week 4 Chantal has produced a layout featuring my favourite subject 'Chocolate', using some great tickets to embellish her page.

This week I just couldn't resist using this photo of my little man who is just the 'cheekiest'. I have used the Kaisercraft 'Party Animals' range.

Well I hope this has your MOJO in the mood for another week, we have had some fantastic entries so far and you can check them out here.

Sketch challenge!!

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a brand new sketch! Aren't you just

loving the great challenges for our Mega birthday celebrations?

I love sketches - layouts come

together so easily when you are following a sketch, which

means playing along all month long should be

a breeze ;0)

I LOVE this sketch and it co-ordinated perfectly

with the beautiful Kaisercraft Bonjour papers, you

can find this beautiful collection here.I'm hard press to find a fav Kaisercraft

collection since they are one of my fav paper companies

but this one is right up there!!

Here is my take on the sketch..........

I replaced the hearts in the sketch with gorgeous

butterflies I cut out from Dijon paper. Aren't they stunning??

I used stickers for both my title and

the journaling from the alpha sticker sheet . I outlined

my title with a glitter pen to make it pop!

How beautiful is this diamante trim???

I concentrated on one area of the sketch for my card.

This time I did use hearts and placed a few embellies over them.

I kept it nice and simple and added a sheer organza

ribbon for a soft touch.

Week 3 Challenge

Good morning to all and welcome to the 3rd week of Celebrations!!!

Well I hope you have been to 'SCRAPBOOKIT' to grab a bargain or 2 for Jo's Birthday Celebrations.

To assist you in picking up some great prizes, here is our 3rd sketch that has been supplied to us by PAGE MAPS.

I set about using the gorgeous paper from 'Bo Bunny'- 'Forever Fall' Collection, these are such lovely vibrant colours and have such an earthy feel to them. I teamed them with 'Seaweed' Coredinations cardstock, which I roughed up along the edges. I also used Sassafras cardstock stickers and Kaiser sparklets 'fern'. As you may notice I cut the circles in half to use as the bunting and I also did flip the sketch on its side and substituted a piece of patt. paper with a photo.I then set about making a card using the same sketch supplied from Page Maps . For this I used Butterscotch Coredinations card which I sprayed with Oriental Poppy Glimmer Mist, which I thought gave a real vintage feel to the card. Also used the Kaiser Sparklets for a bit of bling. You may notice that there is a couple of rub ons. Cards are a great way to use up some of those that you have laying around your stash!!!

Week 2 of Scrapbookit’s Mega Celebrations

Hi Everyone…..Mel here.

Firstly, Happy 1st Birthday Jo! How exciting for you, it is hard to believe how quickly that year has gone! What a great month of celebrations so far!

And welcome everyone to the second week and second sketch reveal here at Scrapbookit’s Mega Month of Celebrations……...not only do we have a different sketch for you each week but we have weekly prizes, our normal monthly prize and a Mega Sale. So make sure you pop in here to see all of reveals from the girls throughout this month!

Here is the sketch from PageMaps that I was lucky enough to be able to use.

I have fallen so totally in love…….with Simple Stories! This month I was the very excited recipient of the Simple Stories Generations range. Oh my, oh my how easy is it to use this paper! It is the type of paper that you HAVE TO have two or more of each of the pages as you really want to be able to use both sides!!!

I used photos of the Generations in Jason’s (my hubby) family. It was so nice to snap a few photos of the three generations on Father’s Day this year and the Simple Stories papers were a perfect match.

Rather than using a large block of paper in the background I decided to use a variety of the patterned papers in small squares to create a patchwork quilt effect…..thanks Mum for the inspiration!

How great is this fob watch from Fern Laser Designs…...I loved it so much in it’s raw state but I am sure it would look great painted, inked, misted etc.

I used my iTop to create the brads and some Ribtex Twine - Brown in between them.

I have also used this gorgeous collection for my card. It is a perfect collection to create a card for someone who is moving into a new home.

Well, I hope you love this Simple Stories Collection as much as I have loved using it. You would have seen my take on Jo’s sketch last week using the same collection. I have also used it for another sketch and card for next week's reveal…..so keep a look out!

Hey, anybody looking forward to Summer? I most definately am! :) Well I just thought I'd share with you all my latest layout (which is VERY Summery) using some awesome products available at Scrapbookit's fantastic shop!

It's a double layout called "Celebrating Summer". If you click on the image it transforms from small to humungous! lol! :)

I've used some of the Echo Park "Splash" range of patterned papers on this layout, including "Big Waves" and "Fish", along with the matching cardstock alpha stickers which includes much MORE than just alphas - totally love these! :D I've tied some Green Tara metal embellishments onto a knotted ribbon border on the base - these embellishments are really detailed and they are a ocean theme... very apt! ;D

I've also got Kaisercraft Rhinestones, AC Thickers and Core'dinations cardstock on here which are also all available from Scrapbookit.

For my background, I covered cardstock with vintage sheet music paper and then I swiped it with Kaisercraft white paint and then sprayed it with Tattered Angels glimmermist. I love the neutral backdrop it gives to the bright colours. :)

Now, speaking of colours, you've got until the 14th of this month to get your entries in for my primary colour challenge! I love the entries so far and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your lovely work in the gallery! Please click here for all the info!

Well Hello October

Yes we are into another month, with grand finals over and another week of school holidays I hope you all get to have some scrapping time.

Last weekend I had a fantastic retreat with a great bunch of girls and had the chance to create some cards.

These images are La La Digi stamps and I have coloured them with my Copic Collection (which is growing by the week). If you haven't tried 'Copic' Pens best you start a stash because they are so much fun.

Monthly challenge inspiration

Hello Scrappers!!

It's nearly the end of the school holidays here in QLD.

Normally, I'm pulling my hair out by now, but it's been a pleasant

two weeks :0)

How are your entries for the monthly challenge going?

I always get a little nervous when someone says primary colours only...

while I love using yellow, red and blue in my layouts,

I'm a little intimidated by this colour combo so,

this was a challenge for me too!!

I made this card using some Core'dinations cardstock - Jo has

so many colours in the shop, make sure you send her a quick email and

add them to your next order ;0)

I used Spellbinders - Lacey circles to create my card.

Just Email Jo if you can't find the shape you are

looking for online, she will be more than

happy to help ;0)

I coloured in this sweet little image by Magnolia

Lady Bug Tilda using Copic Markers .

I love these Magnolia Mini World images!

They are super cute and great to use on smaller projects

like tags.....it's getting a bit hard to colour them but....

they are starting to get a little blurry .

( Who's too stubborn to get glasses?)

I've embellished her with Kaisercraft Rhinestones,

these gorgeous Sparklets, pretty flowers and ribbon!

I'm discovering the inner girl in me with all these beautiful products!!

For my layout, I needed to use a touch of white and black to help

me get this one right!!

I used bright yellow Core'dinations cardstock

and smears of red Kaisercraft paint - don't you just

love getting messy??

I love these gorgeous FWAB beach hut and banner embellishments!

They are so full of colour and texture and so

easy to use !!!!

I've outlined my title by tracing over the American

Craft Alphabet stickers with a sharpie - and how about that zipper??

That was an exciting addition to my pizza box!

I'm sure Jo has plenty more where that one came from!

We'd really love to see how you tackle this challenge!!

So get scrapping!!!!

Hello Everyone,

Well after being away for a wonderful few days R&R, I have come back full of steam.

Scrapbookit's new challenge came at the appropriate time, as I had this gorgeous photo of my sweet granddaughter, which matched the colours of the challenge perfectly . It was great just to use Bazzill for a change in a layout and all are from Jo @ Scrapbookit,so be sure to pop in and see all the new colours there.

I made this card using the same theme from the Challenge and was pleased with the result. The Primary colours just screamed happiness and sunshine.

So that is all for now, but can't wait to see your take on this month's challenge.

Primary Colours Layout

Hello everyone

I have actually had a chance to scrap this week and I had fun with this months challenge using the three 'Primary Colours'.
Here is my layout using the great papers from WeR Memory Keepers which are ideal for this challenge.

I have added a 'FWAB' Laser cut flourish and I recoloured the 'Kaisercraft' Flowers with some 'Glimmermist'. The Title is made up of 'Thickers' and 'Tiny Type' letters. Then its all backed on a piece of core dinations and finished with some doodling and I was done.

I love this photo of my little boy with his front teeth missing, he is so CHEEKY!

How are you going with this challenge? Hope your having fun with it, can't wait till the entries start rolling in.

Primary Colours with Mel :0)

Hello Everyone,

After seeing this month’s challenge - it was great to note that the weather seemed to warm up down here! I’m not exactly sure what has happened today though…...cold, wet and rainy!! Well, no complaints - we do need some rain!

How awesome is this month’s challenge…..well done Chantal and Jo!

Saying that, it took me a little while to get my head around it ~ possibly due to the lack of mojo of late!!! Once I had my head around it and had selected a photo my mojo was in fine form (that is just my opinion - you may disagree)!!

I typically am not a master of bright colours…...in comparison to our very own Chantal but I love to work with them and I had a lot of fun doing so this month.

So……….

Here is my layout!

In this layout I have used ‘Jaybird’ Core’dinations cardstock as my frame. So as to not waste a whole sheet of cardstock (I know it is only cardstock - but I wanted to use it elsewhere on my layout and for my cards!) I have cut out a frame!

To do this I placed my cardstock in my paper trimmer and instead of cutting straight through I started my cut at the 1.5cm marker on the ruler! I cut down to 1.5cm away from the edge! I then turned my cardstock one turn and did the same thing! I did this for each side!

I used ‘Dutchess’ Coredinations cardstock for my base. I used bubble wrap and Royal Blue Kaisercraft paint to create my own patterns on it! I also used a black pen to doodle my border around the base!

Then I used some strips of blue and yellow Core’dinations cardstock with some strips of Cosmo Cricket - Twist & Shout - Get Happy: Number 9 patterned paper. I doodled some borders on each of these strips. To remove the starkness of the yellow I used some more of the Kaisercraft paint to create a border.

I used some red grosgrain ribbon down one side and made a little tag from the Cosmo Cricket patterned paper. This features that date of the photo using Kaisercraft Mini Alpha Stickers in Cherry Red, some more border doodling and some Ribtex Red Twine for a little bow!

The Navy Blue Ribtex Twine was great to create a feature across the middle of my layout. I used some blue staples and some red brads to assist with securing my twine.

I backed my photo with a very thin frame of black and mounted it with foam tape on some yellow Core’dinations cardstock. I used a Fiskars Border punch for the top feature of the yellow cardstock and doodled (yet again!) around the edges. I wrapped some Red Ribtex Twine around the bottom of the photo for additional colour.

The A2Z Scraplet Bird is very cute…...I decided to paint it with the Kaisercraft Royal Blue paint. I used some yellow paint and bubble wrap to add some texture to the bird and finished off with some doodling and Kindy Glitz.

My title is made with Kaisercraft White Alpha Stickers that I have doodled around to make them pop from the page. I have also used Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type Alpha stickers……… My title says, “A Little Birdie Told Me... That I Mean The World To Mum & Dad”

Finally I added some Kaisercraft Rouge Sparklets to the top left hand corner. How nice are they?

Here is my card……

I have used all of the same materials on my card but have added a small piece of patterned paper from the Echo Park - Splash collection and some blue and navy blue grosgrain ribbon.

The sun is from the ‘Up in the Sky’ Flourish with a Bling Puffy embellishments. I have also used the blue AED - Sparkle n Soft to create some texture on the towel.

I also created a little gift tag using the same materials.

Primary Colour Challenges with Chantal! :)

Hello scrappers! This month I've set the challenges here at Scrapbookit!

First up, the challenge is to create a layout using the three primary colours (plus a little bit of white,black,kraft is okay).

So here is my layout...

All the goodies used here on my layout are available now in store! I've used Core'dinations cardstock as my base, then trimmed approx an inch off around two sides of Echo Park's "Splash" - Whales patterned paper and swiped this with some Kaisercolour white paint.

I then trimmed my four photos to the same size as the Echo Park "Splash" Journalling cards that I'd cut out, then attached the photos and cards onto yellow Core'dinations cardstock, attached blue ribbon behind this "frame" by gently gathering it around all four sides and then I attached this onto the base.

I then decorated my outer frame edges as well with more ribbon - this time cut into small pieces. I then tied Ribtex Red Twine and Navy Twine into knots and a bow and stapled them onto my layout for a bit of texture.

I used the red scalloped border cut into threes from Echo Park's Splash Alpha Cardstock Sticker sheet (I love how they have that extra stuff! Such great value!) and blinged it up with Kaisercraft's Sparklets in Royal blue (oh my goodness - how gorgeous are these?!)...

I then added my cool A2Z Scraplets chippie title, used Cosmo Cricket's Tiny Type - Blue alpha's for my sub-title and journalling and I also used some brackets from BasicGrey's Olivia Micro Mono Alpha sticker sheet. :)

Second challenge is to create a card using the same primary colours! Fun, hey? Here's my take on the challenge...

I have again used Echo Park's Alpha Cardstock Sticker sheet not only for the alphas but for the sun's rays (there is a spot with words on it which was perfect for a sun) and I've used white and yellow Core'dinations cardstock, Echo Park's For The Record Table Cloth patterned paper (that's the red paper with the white polka-dots, which is actually the underside and I've used at least 6 sheets of this pp so far - using both sides!)

I've added a dash of bling using FWAB's Red Pearls (don't they make the cutest cheeks?!) and also I sprayed a tad of Tattered Angels Glimmermist - Coffee Shop onto my white cardstock.

I've "finished" off my card with some more Ribtex navy twine, I just stapled it on to the top left corner whilst the card was open. :)
