G'day everyone! How about a challenge to scrap some of those summer pics?! Sounds great, hey?! Well you can warm up the Aussie winter chills by scrapping a summer layout for this month's challenge here at Scrapbookit! We want to see all your 'SUMMERTIME' layouts. We want to be reminded of sunshine and fun, so you can come up with whatever makes you think of summer and chase away these winter blues! :)
So here is my summery layout to share with you all! It's called "Row, Row, Row your Boat" and it's using lots of yummy goodies available in store. I've used Core'dinations cardstock (love their rich tones) and the patterned paper is 7Gypsies "Mykonos - Naxos" - aren't those colours striking? So many gorgeous patterns available in this line too. I've used some white paint on this paper around my photo in a "wave" style by simply squeezing the paint onto a scrap bit of card and swiping it in a wave pattern. I distressed the edges of the patterned paper and placed a contrasting piece of cardstock underneath this and cut this to size.
I've also used 7Gypsies "Mykonos" 97% Complete Cruise Stickers for my title and for journalling prompts too. The Jenni Bowlin Studio Banner Stickers were perfect to make my banner for this boat-themed page. I found the ric-rac ribbon perfect as little wave embellishments for my page too.
I just love the A2Z Scraplets chipboard anchor, it just added the perfect aspect of dimension to my layout.
For this month's card challenge, we have a themed challenge; "CELEBRATE". Your card must have the word celebrate on it but the rest is up to you!
So here is my "Celebrate" card! I have used all the same products from my layout, with addition to that gorgeous Green Tara Charm (which comes in a pack of five assorted shapes) - this one in the shape of a starfish; 7Gypsies "Mykonos - Syros" patterned paper and the red ribbon - all available in store at Scrapbookit. I have used the letters this time from the sheet of Jenni Bowlin Studio Banner Stickers and Alphas.
Basically I have folded white cardstock in half, added some 7Gypsies "Mykonos" patterned paper to about two thirds, added ribbon down this seam and tied some bows, sewing the starfish charm onto a bow in the process. Then I cut out nine circles using a shape template, white gel pen and scissors; mounted the circles onto foam tape and adhered them onto the patterned paper strip; then lastly I added the alpha stickers. I nice and easy card for lots of occasions! :)
So there you have it. I hope you have enjoyed my shares for this month's challenge and I also hope you are inspired to try the challenge for yourself! :)
