Hi everyone, Ruby here. I hope you are well as you read this blog post today! I also hope that you’ve all made a crack on this month’s challenge. Today I will share with you the page I made inspired by the sketch, using Washi Tape and Paint also, as the challenge specifies. Here's the sketch again, if you missed it!
For my page I used brown Kaisercard and papers and embellishments from Echo Park’s ‘Oh, Snap’ collection and Bo Bunny’s ‘Mama-Razzi’. Echo Park’s line is predominantly soft tones and pastel colours. Bo Bunny’s on the other hand, is grungy and dark. Don’t be afraid to mix the two together for a funky balance.
I’m a bit behind the times with the trends of Washi Tape at
the moment, so it was interesting to use on my page! I decided to fold over
some of Prima’s ‘Life Time’ Washi and Fabric tape over a toothpick, and alter
it slightly to make little flags. And, as usual with the paint, I mixed some
white paint with water and splattered it sporadically with a paintbrush around
the cardstock.
I didn’t adhere to the sketch entirely and I think that’s
okay. The point of a sketch is yes, to challenge you but more so- inspire you!
To get those papers and those embellishments out and start creating. Flip it on
its side, turn it around, change the number of photos (as I have- I used 6 on
this page!)
All the best and good luck! I look forward to seeing what you
create. :) R xx
