So Proud

Welcome everyone to the Scrapbookit Blog and my final post for the September Challenge. The last one as DT for this term, and I'm sure everyone will be waiting with baited breath to see who the lucky ladies will be. The 1st of October isn't that far away. New design team, new and fun challenges as always but there will still be a couple of things that wont change. The great Scrapbookit Store and the great prizes you have a chance of winning when you enter the challenge. For now though my September post.

This month was all about the guys. Yes it was Masculine all the way for the month being Father's Day. Mel set the challenge and I have just loved it. For my second take on the challenge I haven't stuck with all the requirements. I have used the 4 patterned papers and the words "My Hero", this time in my writing and not my title.  I hope you like my layout.

The very handsome guy in this photo is my father and the photo was taken at my boys school sports. My dad would have to be very sick to miss anything that was to do with his Grandsons and I can remember it being the same when I was young. He went to as much as he could with us.

The awesome patterned papers I used were BoBunny - Somewhere in Time Collection. They are great male colors and have flying machines - hot air balloons and even cogs and clocks on them.

As soon as I started to put this LO together I knew I had to use some chippie cogs on it and the ones I chose are by WOW - Clock & Gears and Cog & Gears. I  then decided the WOW chippie So Proud was just right as my Dad is one that I'm so proud of. I used Modeling Paste, then Studio Black Gesso on them. When that was dry I then sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mists - Bronze.

With my patterned paper where the cogs were I decided to cut around them a little and place the photo in behind them. On the edges of my patterned papers I inked with Distress Ink - Vintage Photo. On my black cardstock for my back ground I  decided to use my Kaisercraft Quarters Stencil with texture paste. Over that I inked with the Vintage Photo and then sprayed with the Pearls Bronze. I was excited though to use my Banksia (gold) Embossing Powder by Pipe Dream Inks that I got from Jo at the last retreat. I used a glue stick first and then the embossing powder over that, then my heat gun. I just love how it come up.

To finish it off I made this little tag from the patterned papers. I printed it out and then inked the edge and placed a little ink over the paper as well. It give it a little more of an old look (like my dad hehe) to stand out from the other patterned papers and match better. At each corner I placed a Black Pearl by Flourish With A Bling.

Well ladies I hope you have liked my layout and that what us DT girls have shown you this month has inspired you to join the challenge. There is still time and we would love to see the Hero in your life. Maybe a dad like me, poppy or brother, just as long as it's a male and your hero.

For any of the products you have seen on my layout remember Jo has them in store. The best thing of all is you don't have to leave the scrap room except to check the mailbox. Oh yes, what a way to shop. Also if you have joined in the monthly challenge and won, placed an order it can all come in the same box. Now that would be awesome.

As always Happy Crafting.... Hugs
Brenda

  4. The embossing Mel is not stamping. All I have done is used a glue stick on LO. Sprinkled embossing powder over it. Tapped off excess and then heated with heat gun. Just how it turned out with that embossing powder. Glad you got them papers. I love them....Great for male but also female too. XX
