Hello there.
Tania here with you today to share a couple of projects for this month's Mixed Media Challenge which I had the pleasure of setting.
For my first project I have altered one of Twiddleybitz's Circle Printer's Trays.
In my DT kit this month I was given Kaiser's new "Close Up" Collection to work with, lots of gorgeous Chipboard and some Mixed Media Goodies. I started by giving the printer's tray two thick coat's of gesso, I used a sponge to put the gesso on as I love the texture look it gives. For my background I used a combination of the patterned papers and gave them a light paint with gesso. I loved the Film Strip Acetate sheet that came with this collection and used it behind my photo. I have embellished the Tray with matching Collectables from this Collection and some Kaiser Mini Paper Blooms and Paper Blooms. I have randomly dabbed the Flowers, Collectables and parts of the Tray with Tarnished Bronze Distress Paint. The chipboard is Scrap FX. Lastly I have used Black Dylusions and randomly flicked it over the tray.
Below are some close of the Printer's Tray.
My second project that I wanted to share with today is a Layout that I created also using Kaiser's "Close Up" Collection.
I gave my background paper a light coat of Gesso. I used the Kaiser Quarters Stencil the Arrows section and randomly applied this to the background using texture paste. I then used a combination of Black and White Dylusions with the Kaiser Doily stencil over my page. As I said previously I just loved the Acetate sheet from this collection so I used the majority of it so this way you could still see my altered background. All my edges have been roughly distressed and then dabbed with the Tarnished Brass Distress Paint. I have embellished my Layout with Collectables Wow Chipboard and Kaiser Paper Blooms which have also roughly had some gesso and Tarnished Brass applied to them
Here are some close ups of my Layout.
Well that's all for my today, I hope you can find some time to play along with our challenge this month, and get messy and creative. Don't forget all the products I have used today on my two projects are all available from Jo. Until next time, happy crafting,
Tania xx
