Check In 2 Scrapbookit

Hello All,

It is Mel here again with another post for this month.
I have been just in awe of some of the gorgeous creations this month. Well done to the DT on the layouts and cards created.

I am starting to get a little excited....our retreat is in 26 sleeps. It is like being a child at Christmas all over again...am soooo looking forward to it.

Ok, back to why I am really here.
I have been lucky enough to create with the Kaisercraft range 'Check In'
As I said in my last post it has been a wonderful prod for me to at least do some of my travel photos from our family holiday to Singapore and Thailand.
This layout is of my little man....4 years old at the time....who took to the whole overseas travel experience like a duck to water.
These photos were taken at Singapore Airport on our way from Singapore to Phuket.

I was inspired last month by Rebecca's cutting around subjects in photos....which I did years ago and had forgotten about....Thanks Rebecca for reminding me. I just love the effect it has given in this layout.
Here is my layout...

Here is a close up of the tag...I have also journalled on the back of it.

I have also used this paper collection to create some tags.
All products used can be found at Scrapbookit.
Pop on over to see Jo in store or head over to the online store to get your hands on the products. They are very versatile and lots of fun to create with.

Well, I hope that this week is a good one for you.
Don't forget that the challenge is running until the 14th so you still have HEAPS of time to get your entries in.

Happy Scrapping,

Check In @ Scrapbookit's New Challenge

Hello Everyone and welcome to another exciting monthly challenge at Scrapbookit.

I am here to share with you the first of my projects using the sketch that I have created for this months challenge.

Here is the sketch...

This month I have been creating with the Kaisercraft Collection 'Check In.' This collection is a great collection for all of those travel photos that you may have. In 2009, we went to Singapore and Thailand. When I found out that I was going to be creating with this pack I was so excited as I hadn't started any of our travel photos.....now I am hooked!

For this layout I used one of our favourite photos from our trip...our first elephant ride!

Materials: Kraft Cardstock, Paper: Kaisercraft Check In Collection, Check In - Collectables, Check In - Borders Sticker Sheet, twine, button, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain.
All of these are available from our Online Store at Scrapbookit.

I am loving distressing at the moment and have just started using the Ink Blending Tool, also available at Scrapbookit.

Janene has set a great card challenge this month. It is to use colour blocking and a stamped image or sentiment.
Whilst I had heard of colour blocking I wasn't 100% sure of how to create a card using colour blocking so off I went to explore the net. There are so many places on the net to explore.

Scrapbooking.com said,
Color blocking is a technique that has been around for quite some time. It involves placing photos, paper and embellishments (if desired) in a geometric order. The order in which you do it is entirely up to you.

So that is what I went with and this is what I came up with...

Materials: Kaisercard, Kaisercraft - Check In Collection, Check In - Collectables, Check In - Borders Sticker Sheet, black grosgrain ribbon, Jenni B Adhesive Fancy Frame, flowers.
All of these are available from our Online Store at Scrapbookit.

My stamped sentiment is "Discover, Explore, Journey." I have used the old Kaisercraft Pack Your Bags Collection Clear Stamps which I had stashed away ready to use for our travel photos.

Well, I hope that this has inspired you to get into scrapping your travel photos or better still to enter this months challenge for your chance to win.
All you need to do is email your entry to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au by the 14th of August.
Make sure you check out the entries in the store gallery too!

Happy Scrapping,

Bo Bunny's Little Miss

Hello Everyone,

It is so wonderful to see so many great entries for this challenge in the gallery. Have you checked them out? Have you got your entry in?
Check out the Scrapbookit Gallery by clicking here.

I was so lucky this month to get the gorgeous Bo Bunny Little Miss collection to have a play with.
Today I am here to share with you some more projects with these gorgeous papers.

A week from today we welcome back my sister, her husband and their two gorgeous girls ( my beautiful nieces - Charlotte and Victoria) to Australia after 2 years in the USA on a Defence Force posting. I am just a little excited to have them home and this inspired my project.

I have used the Bo Bunny Little Miss collection and a Kaisercraft American Welcome Board Plaque to put together this plaque for Charlotte's room for when they get home.

Here is a close up of the little flower clusters.

I have also made a few cards with this collection.
Here is the one I made for my Mum for her birthday. She loves teapots so this suited her perfectly.......and her gift was a teapot....Anne Hathaway's Cottage!

I used some pages from an old book (it was actually Alice in Wonderland) and some of the Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create my distressed background and how gorgeous is that flower.....pop on over to Scrapbookit and grab yourself some!

I will be back in a few days time to share one last layout with you for this month.
Until then happy scrapping,
