♡ Friends ♡

Hello!

Welcome to my second post for this month....what a month that it has been.
Have you stayed up to date with our blog and the projects the girls have been sharing?
We have truly 'gone all out' this month challenging ourselves with colours and styles that we don't normally create with. If you haven't seen our projects why not grab a cuppa and head back through the blog.

We have also got some gorgeous entries coming in. Be sure to check these out here on the blog or over on our Facebook page ~ some great inspiration right there!

Today I have a DOUBLE layout to share with you! It isn't often that I create double layouts but I just couldn't go past a double with the two photos that I used. I really could have put both photos onto a single layout but I would have had to reprint my photos (me being lazy)!

So, here is my layout...

Such a bright and fun page of my gorgeous friends on our 2017 Geelong trip!

I have been playing with the Ultimate Crafts "L'aquarelle Designs" paper collection this month. So not my type of paper.....!!!! However, I have loved what I have been creating with this paper collection.

One part of our challenge this month is to use a COLOUR you don't normally use or like...well purple, oranges and yellows I don't normally use.
I have started with the paper from 'L'aquarelle Designs' collection and then added some more purple with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Shaker - Polka Purple. I did this across both pages.

I then cut some colour squares from the paper collection and added them to my pages. I also splattered some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in the background in Teal and Peach.

I decided that it was all a bit bright so added some stamping to the background using my Darkroom Door French Script Background Stamp and the IndigoBlu Ledger Background Stamp. This also helps with the challenge requirement 'Use stamping somewhere on your project'

I also stamped a few IndigoBlu 'Ink Splat Butterfly' images in the corners where I had planned and ended up placing some die cut butterfly embellishments.

The cute butterfly embellishments are created using the Kaisercraft Dies and Stamps - Flutter. These are a great product - two uses in one - stamping an image and then die cutting. Love them!
I stamped onto some of the colourful papers from 'L'aquarelle Designs' collection.
Another part of the challenge ticked off...'Use die cuts on your project'

The black circle die cut silhouettes are from 'Scrap FX' - they are pretty cool!
I finished with my title using the Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic: Buzz Words ~ 'Friends' and added the final part of the title handwritten ~ 'are the Family you Choose'

The last part of the challenge completed 'Friends' in any form that you choose - photo, title, quote journalling....(I have hidden my journalling behind the photo of Jane and I 😃)

I also added some of the Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic: Buzz Words on the other half of the layout. These have been in my collection for years...so nice to use them again!

Well, that is all from me today! I do love how this double layout turned out.
I hope that you are putting the final touches on your little project to enter in our challenge for the chance to win a fantastic prize from Scrapbookit! You've got to be in it to win it.

Hope you enjoy your weekend!
...Melx

Some more.....Vintage Chic

~ Hello Everyone ~
Mel here again to share with you some more projects from the gorgeous kit I received from Jo this month. I was so lucky to receive the gorgeous Heidi Swapp ~ Vintage Chic collection along with some gorgeous other bits and pieces.

Haven't the girls done an absolutely sensational job scrap lifting my layout? We are so blessed to have such a magical design team who continue to provide such awesome projects for us all to be inspired by.
Have they inspired you to get your entry in?

I have moved away from the challenge for this post.
When I originally saw these papers I immediately thought of memories to hold on to. Of family stories. Well, that is what I have for you today.......memories of our family story.

I have used these gorgeous papers to create a layout of Jason's Nanna and Grandfather. Isn't it wonderful that scrapbooking then makes us go and find out the story if we don't already know it....I found out that this was one of the first times that Jason's Nanna and Grandfather met. It was mid 1945....they were married in January 1946 and had their first child in July 1946!

Here is my layout....

I have used the Vintage Chic papers, some gorgeous lace ribbon to create the doily flowers and some Kaiser Paper Blooms in Sage.

On the back of the photo Jason's Nanna had included some information about the photo. I didn't want to hide her handwriting so I scanned and printed it to include on the layout.

This will definitely be a layout that will tell a story in many years to come....

I have also used the Vintage Chic collection to create some cards. I haven't put a sentiment on them yet.....sometimes it is good to have some cards that you can add the sentiment on when you need to.
As you will see these cards are both the same layout however different papers in each place.

Now, the last thing I want to share with you is actually a UFO (Un Finished Object). When Jo sent me this months pack it had the most gorgeous Twiddleybitz Fence in it. I have had this layout incomplete for such a long time. The fence gave me the inspiration to get it done.....thanks Jo!
Check it out......

Heidi Swapp - Vintage Chic

Hello,
Can you believe that  it is November and that we are in the middle of our last challenge for 2012? I can't! It has been a huge year but a very successful one!

The final challenge for 2012 was set by me! I have gone with something different. All you need to do is scrap lift my layout (below). Easy!

With my layout I decided that I wouldn't change too much. I loved this layout and often when you find something that works well it is fun to recreate it in another paper collection.
So here is what I have come up with using the gorgeous 'Heidi Swapp - Vintage Chic' collection.....

This paper collection and other bits and pieces (Buzz Words and the Colour Shine) are just gorgeous and very easy to work with. Just perfect I thought for a layout involving scenery. They add to the tranquility and beauty of the scene - I think!

Materials:
Patterned Paper - Vintage Chic - Heidi Swapp; Cardstock - Kaisercard; twine; lace; ribbon; iTop - brad; regular envelope; Dear lizzy + Amercian Crafts Thickers - Merry; Heidi Swapp - Colour Shine - Mint Green; Heidi Swapp - Vintage Chic - Buzz Words; Kaisercraft - Paper Blooms - Sage; Kaisercraft Clear Stamps.

Janene has set a great card challenge this month. The challenge is to create a Christmas card using lace as an embellishment.
This month I decided to showcase three really simple cards. When making a lot of Christmas cards it is nice to have the same simple features and just swap them around a little (or make them exactly the same!).
All of these cards use the same size cardstock (A5 - 21cm x 14.8cm) which fits nicely into a regular size envelope, the same simple tree shape (a triangle), lace and of course the words 'Merry Christmas.'
These literally took me less then an hour to create!

Here they are.......

Materials:
Patterned Paper - Vintage Chic - Heidi Swapp; Cardstock - Kraft and Kaisercard; Merry Christmas - clear stamp (Kaisercraft) and Merry Christmas (Silhouette Cameo); lace; ribbon; Heidi Swapp - Colour Shine - Mint Green

Well, if you haven't started making Christmas Cards there is a quick and simple idea for you!

Remember this is the last challenge for the year....what a great gift for Christmas to win a prize pack from Scrapbookit just for entering the challenges!!
Be sure to email your interpretations to Jo at joanne@scrapbookit.com.au
by December 14 and make sure you pop on over to the gallery (click here) to check out all of the entries.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
