♡ Friends ♡

Hello!

Welcome to my second post for this month....what a month that it has been.
Have you stayed up to date with our blog and the projects the girls have been sharing?
We have truly 'gone all out' this month challenging ourselves with colours and styles that we don't normally create with. If you haven't seen our projects why not grab a cuppa and head back through the blog.

We have also got some gorgeous entries coming in. Be sure to check these out here on the blog or over on our Facebook page ~ some great inspiration right there!

Today I have a DOUBLE layout to share with you! It isn't often that I create double layouts but I just couldn't go past a double with the two photos that I used. I really could have put both photos onto a single layout but I would have had to reprint my photos (me being lazy)!

So, here is my layout...

Such a bright and fun page of my gorgeous friends on our 2017 Geelong trip!

I have been playing with the Ultimate Crafts "L'aquarelle Designs" paper collection this month. So not my type of paper.....!!!! However, I have loved what I have been creating with this paper collection.

One part of our challenge this month is to use a COLOUR you don't normally use or like...well purple, oranges and yellows I don't normally use.
I have started with the paper from 'L'aquarelle Designs' collection and then added some more purple with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Shaker - Polka Purple. I did this across both pages.

I then cut some colour squares from the paper collection and added them to my pages. I also splattered some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in the background in Teal and Peach.

I decided that it was all a bit bright so added some stamping to the background using my Darkroom Door French Script Background Stamp and the IndigoBlu Ledger Background Stamp. This also helps with the challenge requirement 'Use stamping somewhere on your project'

I also stamped a few IndigoBlu 'Ink Splat Butterfly' images in the corners where I had planned and ended up placing some die cut butterfly embellishments.

The cute butterfly embellishments are created using the Kaisercraft Dies and Stamps - Flutter. These are a great product - two uses in one - stamping an image and then die cutting. Love them!
I stamped onto some of the colourful papers from 'L'aquarelle Designs' collection.
Another part of the challenge ticked off...'Use die cuts on your project'

The black circle die cut silhouettes are from 'Scrap FX' - they are pretty cool!
I finished with my title using the Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic: Buzz Words ~ 'Friends' and added the final part of the title handwritten ~ 'are the Family you Choose'

The last part of the challenge completed 'Friends' in any form that you choose - photo, title, quote journalling....(I have hidden my journalling behind the photo of Jane and I 😃)

I also added some of the Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic: Buzz Words on the other half of the layout. These have been in my collection for years...so nice to use them again!

Well, that is all from me today! I do love how this double layout turned out.
I hope that you are putting the final touches on your little project to enter in our challenge for the chance to win a fantastic prize from Scrapbookit! You've got to be in it to win it.

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Best Friends

Hello, Can you believe that it is April already? Not to long to go now until our Autumn retreat!
We have enjoyed a really great Easter, we spent some time camping on the mighty Murray river and now we are enjoying school holidays here in Vic.

The Layout I have done today is called Best Friends and is a photo of my twin sister and I and her eldest child, this photo was actually 12 years ago but it brings back a lot of good memory's so I decided to use it for my challenge page this month.
This month I have worked with the BoBunny Penelope paper range. Wow what a challenge that was! I'm pretty happy with the end result though. I have started my layout applying a thin layer of Gesso with a palette knife, I then mixed up a little bit of the Lindy's Magical Shaker in the Lederhosen Laurel with some water on some plastic and used the packaging technique to smear this across the page, next I used my Dylusions spray in Fresh Lime and added some droplets over the top.
If you haven't guessed by now my colours that I NEVER work with are blue and green! I couldn't help myself though and HAD to add a little bit of pink!
I have done quite a lot of fussy cutting of flowers out of the paper range and I really like how they have turned out creating a bit of a frame around the photo! I have also used the Kaisercraft Flutter Dies and Stamp set. I have to say that previous to me using these I wondered what the point of having a die and stamp set together but I am totally converted!! I loved being able to cut the shape out with my Sizzix then just stamping the image onto it. I am very impressed and will be sourcing some more images like this in the future.. With some of the flowers and butterflies I have watered down some of my Dylusions paint in the Bubblegum pink and painted the stamped image, I have done the same with the Dylusions Spray in the fresh lime. I love the effect this has added to the page.

With my bigger Butterfly and big pink flower I have stamped them directly onto an old book, cut them out and then painted them once again using the Dylusions Bubblegum pink paint.

The little words down the bottom of the page I have stamped onto a circle shape then added it to the cluster down the bottom. I have added a few of the Kaisercraft Pearls to some of the middle of the flowers, my Title I have used some of the American Craft word stickers then finished my layout off with a Doodly border! I really Love how this layout ended up, at the start I thought it may have turned into a disaster but now I'm really happy with the end result!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my Layout, have you got your entry in yet? A $30 voucher to spend at the wonderful www.scrapbookitshop.com.au could be all yours!
I will be back again a little later in the month with another layout!
Thanks again Jane xxx

But before I do...Have you entered our November challenge?
This is a chance for you to win a prize pack of scrapbooking goodies and all you need to do is send in a photo of your creation.

and the quote 'Live Life in Full Bloom'
You have until the 30th of November to send your photo to us. Go on...you can do it.

For this post, I haven't followed the challenge guidelines. However, I have used the gorgeous collection by Kaisercraft 'Rose Avenue' again.

I have started with the 'Rose Window' page as my background.
Here is my layout...

I added some Dylusions Paint - Rose Quartz. Then I used the template 'Damask Quarters' by Kaisercraft and some Colour Blast Paste - Snow White around the background.

I added some very subtle stamping using the Texture Stamp Windsor by Kaisercraft. I used Dylusions Paint - White Linen.

I used the stamp Background Script by Kaisercraft and some Desert Sand Memento Dew Drop ink randomly around the page.

I finished off with some splatters and thin lines using the Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals - Ramblin' Rose Pink.

I finished off cutting some frames and squares of the different papers and layered them behind and around the photo.
I used the Collectables in the Rose Avenue collection for my cluster of flowers.

I added a piece of paper that was die cut with the Kaisercraft Die 'Sari Texture'

The quote I used was from the sticker sheet in the Rose Avenue collection.

What a Start!

Well what a start to November for us!

Last Saturday Jo (Owner of Scrapbookit) married her partner of 21 years. Such a beautiful couple, a beautiful family and a beautiful love story!

I was so honoured and privileged to be Jo's witness.
I truly can't describe the happiness that permeated through the ceremony ~ it was absolutely magical!

My favourite little snippet from my speech..
"What started as a position on Jo’s new design team has turned into many great times, thousands of laughs, road trips, many many retreats and the most perfect part a very very special friend who I am so blessed to call my friend and have in my life."

Congratulations to Jo and Andrew!
May your lives be filled with much love and happiness!

I couldn't help myself...I had to scrap my favourite photo from the day.
Taken prior to the ceremony when Jo and I got to spend some time... just us...calming each other as we tried to hold back tears of excitement!

Have you checked out this months challenge? Our lovely Jane has set it for us and it is a ripper! Include the quote
'Live Life in Full Bloom'
and include 3 things on your layout that start with 'S'

I have been playing with the Kaisercraft Collection 'Rose Avenue' for this month.
I used my Silhouette to cut out my title from the paper 'Rose Avenue'. Such a great quote! I lightly went around the letters to help them pop out from the background.

My three things (actually I have more) beginning with 'S' are...
*Spray - I lightly sprayed the background with 'Prima - Colour Bloom Spray Mist - Cotton Candy'
*Splatter - I splattered some of the Punch Colour Blast Shimmer Cube on the background as well as some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals in Ramblin' Rose Pink
*Shimmer Cube - Colour Blast - Punch
*Sari Texture - Kaisercraft DIY Cuts (diecut) - I love this die cut!!!!

I have used a heap of the Collectables from this Kaisercraft Collection - they are fantastic!

How cute is this little window??

I just love how this turned out! Have you heard that we have a new website??? It is still developing however..

Cocoa Vanilla Wild @ Heart

Good Morning,
A new month, A New challenge and Jane has really set me a challenge this month.
But I think I conquered my fear of using photo's of myself (even though they are a bit quirky).
I have been playing with Cocoa Vanilla 'Wild @ Heart 'range this month.
As always Zoe hasn't disappointed with this beautiful floral range that has so many fun embellishments that are in the range.

For the challenge requirements I have used the promt 'I Wonder', I have used triangles and a tag from the moodboard and loosley used the same colours (well sort of haha). My mixed media element is the Kaisercraft thatch stencil, I mixed the new 'Lindy Stamp Gang's' Magical shaker 'Guten Tag Teal' with some Matisse Irridescent Medium, I also sprinkled some around and then sprayed it with water to give that darker colour.
My title is some Amy Tangarine stickers and I added some glitter dots , some quote stickers and a little tag from the range. My photo's have the chipboard frames from the range on them.

I look forward to seeing your take on Jane's challenge, don't forget you can add your entry from your blog via Inlinkz, email, or the facebook page.
Entries close May 30th so get crafting girls I want to se those Selfie's.

Enjoy your day

Wild Flower

ANZAC DAY

Good morning everyone, I'm here today to share a few more projects that I have done with the Kaisercraft 'Wildflower' range.
On a weekend away recently with some wonderful scrapping friends I created this layout as a bit of a challenge as I really struggle with layouts that are very minimal. So using very little I have focused on the photos of my beautiful Zahli.

I covered this gorgeous chipboard heart from ScrapFX with Kaisercraft mist 'Charcoal' and the title from 2Crafty. Simple and done.

My next layout is using  the butterflies from the Kaisercraft wooden elements and some stickers from the kit. A bit of stencilling in the background and a perfect title coloured with some Lindy Stamp Gangs spray.

Thanks to the girls that have entered our monthly challenge and the DT girls for their inspiration. You still have some time to enter Mel's double page challenge.

Enjoy your special day as we remember all the things that we are greatful for and the people who fought for our country so that we can live in the wonderful place we do.

Imagine 7Dots studio

Good Morning everyone,
Happy Sunday .

I just dropped by to share my last layout for the month with the great range 'Cotton Candy' from 7 Dots studio.

Even though it's sort of a grungy range I still love that you can do girls pages.

With a few pieces of chipboard and some 'Darkroom door' stamps my page was done.

I hope your weekend is going great, we had a great crop day yesterday, thanks to the girls that travel to share this day.

Mel will be back tomorrow to share some more awesome scrapping for the month, you still have time to get your entries in for the challenge.

Happy Scrappying

March Challenge

Good Morning everyone and welcome to March.

Well it has come time for me to set a challenge and I'm excited to see how you interpret the elements of this fun challenge.

So firstly it's 'ALL ABOUT THE BOYS' this month so your project must focus on the males in our lives. I also want you to add some metallic bits, some raw products (eg cardboard, hemp, cork, string) and add a rustic element.

Okay I hope you have fun with this challenge.
Here is my take on the challenge. This month I am creating with this awesome paper range from
7 Dots Studio  'Cotton Candy Dreams'.

Using the photos of my boy's year six graduation I have added lots of silver elements. The metal die cuts are a Kaisercraft die using 'Spell Binders' A Guilded Life metal sheets, I raided my stash of silver bits and have added some 'Matisse Structure' paint through the new Kaisercraft Mini template 'Woven'.

This range also comes with  sticker sheet's and tag sheet's which go so well with your pages. I have also added some hemp string. I also added some dimension with some Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic paint 'Night' to create my circle and added to the flowers.

For my title I have used some corrugated cardboard letter that I sprayed with Distress Ink 'brushed pewter, added a touch of Lindy's Stamp Gang Spray 'Tibetan Poppy Teal' and some Colour Blast Paste 'Dusty Charcoal' to give it a rusted Patina look.

Well I hope I have given some idea's for the challenge and you join us this month. Don't forget you can add your entry from your blog via our InLinkz button, you can email your entry to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au or you can put it up on our Facebook page.
All entries go into our challenge and you could be the lucky winner of a wonderful prize pack.
Entries close March 30th.

Happy Scrapping

Things with wings.

Morning All,
I hope you are all drying out somewhat after the super wet week we have had here in the North East.

I'm here today to share a couple more project I have done this month with the products I have been playing with.

Firstly a sweet layout using some more Webster's pages range:

My Title is from 2Crafty chipboanrd and the dreamcatcher is from WOW chipboard, I have coloured them with some LindyStamp Gang Magicals just with a brush. So quick and easy. I have fussy cut the blossom flowers(yes I actually did some fussy cutting).

Layout #2

I am so happy how this page turned out as I have created my own background using the Art alchemy Acyrilic paints and the Indigo Blu stamp.  My title is a new Die from Kaisercraft and the top diecut is also a Kaisercraft Die. The shimmer from the paint is awesome but I can't capture it in the photo. We have 8 colours in stock now but I will be getting more in the next shipment for sure.

I hope you all have a great weekend and don't forget to enter our monthly challengeto be in the running for a GDT spot in July. Entries close May 30th.

Always hug the one's you love tight,

Happy Scrapping

Cocoa Vanilla is here again.

Welcome everyone,

I hope you are all staying warm on these wintery days and things are heading back to routine with the kids back at school. I'm back today to share some more projects I have done with the wonderful 'Hello Lovely' range from Cocoa Vanilla.

I think I'm a bit of a mixed media tragic atm as I just cant help but plaster some sort of medium and sprays on my page somewhere. On this layout I have used some light modeling paste and a 'donna downey' stencil to create my large heart and a 'Kaisercraft' stencil fo the smaller hearts. I have added several different mists, Kaisercraft, Heidi Swapp and Lindy's stamp gang to give me lots of shimmer and colours. I have just flicked some 'Matisse' bronze ink around for some more texture.

I also just put together some cards with my left over scraps of paper and the fun embellishments that are in the range. I hope you are getting some time to enter this months challenge? You have until the 30th of July. We are also getting together this Saturday from 10am for our crop day, if you are interested call me on 0407058604.

It is with a heavy heart that I would like to share our condolences to the 'Swapp Family', Heidi has been a tremendous inspiration to crafters world wide and after the tragic loss of her son last week, I just want everyone to give their family that extra big hug because you never know what is around the corner and make sure you get those memories down on paper.

Happy Scrapping

July Challenge

Good morning everyone,
Well here we are in July, sorry I'm a day late. With school holidays, wintery weather, playing taxi driver to teenagers and a bit of socialising it has been hectic the last couple of days to say the least.
But I'm here on this rainy old day to share our new challenge for the month of July. Staying with our three criteria theme, this month is all about
  • Having FUN
  • Frames
  • Flairs (buttons not the jeans)
With the new releases from Cocoa Vanilla we just had to create with these wonderful products this month and here are two layouts I have done.

Lots of great embellishments, flowers and flairs in this range 'Hello lovely' to create with which are all available @ www.scrapbookit.com.au. I had lots of FUN colouring the background of my 1st layout and I'm sure Brittany will have lots of FUN driving when I can get over the nerves of sitting along side her.

Entries for this challenge are due July 30th, I hope you will have fun playing along. Mel and I are off to Geelong next week for our annual 'Retailers Day' at Kaisercraft to find lots of new things to share. Until then enjoy the school holidays if you have the children at home.

Happy Scrapping

April Challenge

Welcome to April everyone,

I hope all our Victorian families are enjoying their school holidays and everyone is ready for easter bunny to come hoping by.

I'm here to share our new challenge for this month which is all about:

This must be the focus of your project and can be a LO, Card or OTP creation. All entries must be in by 30th April 2015 and you can email them to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au or link them to the sidebar from your blog.

For my feature project I have used the Kaisercraft 'Family' frame and the new release range for April 'Antique Bazaar'. I love the rustic feel to this range and have had lots of fun using the Tinby Metallic Melts 'Bronze' with some Lindy stamp gang spray mist for the effect I was after. I have raided my stash of flowers, feathers and also added some Kaiser wooden products as well that I painted. The photo is our 4 generations taken on mother's day 2014.

Here are a couple of close up's showing that any flowers can be matched with your project by using a spray mist.

I was extremely happy with the 'Tarnished' look I was able to achieve with the Melts and spray inks.

I look forward to seeing your entries and Mel will be on the blog next with her interpretation of the challenge.

Happy Easter
Stay Safe

Morning everyone and welcome,

Well another month nearly over, can you believe it's nearly Christmas!!!  Have you done all your shopping yet? Don't forget Scrapbookit has Gift Vouchers available for all your crafty friends.

I'm back today to share a layout I completed at the Retreat (yes my 1 and only haha) but using some of the new products available in store.

To add some texture I have used the Prima stencil  and some 'Viva Inka Gold Graphite', The WOW chipboard cogs have been covered with 'Lindy stamp Gang Gold Embossing powder and the Kaisercraft title has been sprayed with the Prima Colour Bloom spray 'Cobalt.  A spray of Distress stain 'tarnished brass and I was happy with my result.

Thanks for dropping by our blog for your inspiration, I will be back with next months challenge and a sample of new stock that is in store.
