Hi Everyone,

Firstly I would like to thank Jo for this wonderful opportunity to contribute to the Scrapbookit blog, I have been a follower for a while now and love the monthly challenges, they always make me think outside the square :)

As we all know the September challenge is to create a layout using

rub ons to create a background,
chipboard and
a handmade embellishment.

I was very lucky to receive a nice little box in the mail from Jo containing the stunning Kaisercraft Lady Rose Collection and a few other bits and pieces.  This collection is beautiful, very floral, and lots of great little sayings.  Here is my take on the challenge.

I have used some of the rub ons from the collection, the flower, the butterflies in the top corner and I just loved the butterflies, so I couldn’t resist using more under the photo.  As for the chipboard, that’s pretty obvious I think.........more butterflies!  They are from a company called ‘WOW’, also in my pack from Jo.  Here is a close up of my butterfly rub ons and chipboard.

And then there is my handmade embellishment, or embellishments, I made a few :)  This paper just screamed out flowers, so I had to make a flower or two, or thirteen!  The large flower is a Lori Whitlock file I cut out on my Silhouette Cameo, I just love it, and it fits with this paper so well.  The other flowers I learnt how to make at the Scrapbookit retreat earlier this year, thanks Mel!  Here is a closer look.

And lastly I always like to journal, even if it’s just a tiny little something to remind me of that day, so I used one of the little cards cut out from the paper and hid it behind my photo.  With such pretty paper I didn’t want my messy handwriting to be seen :)

Well I hope you all enjoyed my take on this months challenge.  Remember all these materials you can get from Jo at Scrapbookit, just one thing to note, this paper collection won’t be on sale until the end of September, how lucky do I feel to get it early!

I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with this month, so make sure you get your entry in.  Entries are due by the 30th September, email a photo of your page to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au
