Mixed Media Canvases

Morning Everyone,

Well after a fantastic weekend retreat it's my turn to share a couple of projects that I did with Mary's challenge in the back of my mind. I have used lots of texture in my canvases adding my first layer of Viva Croco paint giving this crackle effect, I have then coloured with my Gelato's and covered with gesso. I have added lots of 'Junk' from my stash boxes and materials, Manour House frames, and some WOW words. Bits and pieces from old stash and new 'mists' have made my canvases something different and I'm really happy at how the turned out.

So why not have a look through your 'stash' and see what exciting textures you can come up with to add a difference to your pieces?

I'll be back soon to share some photo's of our wonderful weekend so don't leave it to long until your next visit, until then Happy scrapping.

Jo.

March Guest Design Member

Welcome to March,
its time to reveal our next guest to the team,

Mary Bennetts

I am very honoured and excited to be the GD for this month and would like to thank Jo for the opportunity.
My name is Mary Bennetts, I live in Orange NSW, about four hours from Sydney . I have been scrapbooking for approximately 10 years. I love pretty papers, stationary and photo's , so when I discovered scrapbooking it was my dream as it combines all my loves in one.
I do something scrap related almost everyday. I have been published in Scrapbooking Memories and I am currently on the DT for Orange Paperie , ColorMeScrappy and Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.
I don't think I have a particular style as I tend to let the picture and story I want to tell dictate the style my page takes. I do however love vintage, as I love old lace and vintage embellishments. I  love arty also as I love the freedom and I like getting messy with paint, mist and gesso. I love documenting my families history and I love travel pages also, as by scrapping the page the memories are relived. As you can see I  love it all really.
The Range of papers that Jo sent me were perfect for my vintage/heritage love & getting some photo's of my husbands family Scrapped.
Here Mary has used the 'Kaisercraft'  release 'Blu Belle'

Mary's challenge for this month is to create a project using the following criteria:

For my Challenge I would like to see layers, texture & the title to be from a song or quote. I would also like to see some stamping
So you have until the 30th March to e-mail your entries in to be in the running for a great prize pack.

Happy Scrapping
Jo Caird
