March Madness

Good Morning Everyone

Welcome to March Madness Month!! Yes it's time for a new Challenge, A new Guest Designer and our RETREAT is only 18 days away!!.

Firstly I would like to introduce our Guest Designer for this month,
Delsie Mowbray,

Hi fellow scrappers. I'm really excited to be guest designer with Scrapbookit this month. I fell into scrapbooking about ten years ago and I have loved it ever since. Despite being a career soldier (34 years) I've managed to have three wonderful children and now have four gorgeous grand-daughters which labels me officially as a 'mad scrapping grannie'. I'm a bling girl - I adore flowers and sparkle and use two very different styles .... vintage/shabby chic and the opposite - the clean, sharp lines of paper piecing and punch-work. I'm delighted to have this opportunity to share my 'take' on this month's mood board challenge ..... I hope you enjoy it. Regards Delsie xx

Here is Delsie's Beautiful Mood Board. You project must be inspired by things on the board,it can be a layout, a card, or an OTP but it must also include the word 'Cherish'.

Here is what Delsie has come up with for her challenge.

Thanks Delsie for a great challenge, I look forward to seeing everyone's entries. Entries can be up loaded on the sidebar via Inlinkz or via email to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au. Entries close on March 30th, the winner will be our Guest designer for May and receive a prize pack as well. So why not join in.

Happy Crafting

March Guest Design Member

Welcome to March,
its time to reveal our next guest to the team,

Mary Bennetts

I am very honoured and excited to be the GD for this month and would like to thank Jo for the opportunity.
My name is Mary Bennetts, I live in Orange NSW, about four hours from Sydney . I have been scrapbooking for approximately 10 years. I love pretty papers, stationary and photo's , so when I discovered scrapbooking it was my dream as it combines all my loves in one.
I do something scrap related almost everyday. I have been published in Scrapbooking Memories and I am currently on the DT for Orange Paperie , ColorMeScrappy and Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.
I don't think I have a particular style as I tend to let the picture and story I want to tell dictate the style my page takes. I do however love vintage, as I love old lace and vintage embellishments. I  love arty also as I love the freedom and I like getting messy with paint, mist and gesso. I love documenting my families history and I love travel pages also, as by scrapping the page the memories are relived. As you can see I  love it all really.
The Range of papers that Jo sent me were perfect for my vintage/heritage love & getting some photo's of my husbands family Scrapped.
Here Mary has used the 'Kaisercraft'  release 'Blu Belle'

Mary's challenge for this month is to create a project using the following criteria:

For my Challenge I would like to see layers, texture & the title to be from a song or quote. I would also like to see some stamping
So you have until the 30th March to e-mail your entries in to be in the running for a great prize pack.

Happy Scrapping

New Challenge/Welcome our GDT member

Good Morning and welcome to December,
Yes only 24 sleeps until the jolly man comes calling and we all get to eat more than we should and spend precious time with our families.

December is the start of the introduction of our Guest design team members and I would like to welcome from W.A.

Amanda Francis

My name is Amanda and I live in Perth, Western Australia. My first scrapbook project was my sisters 16th birthday party and 11 years later I now mostly do mini books and mixed media type projects. I love working with lots of different themes from steampunk to shabby chic vintage and I'm also a lover of bright colours. Paper hoarding seems to be my other hobby and I do love my Graphic 45 collection but I'm also a big believer in recycling and will quite happily use Anything in a project!!

I am honoured to have been chosen as Decembers guest design team member at scrapbookit.com.au I was asked to come up with a challenge for the month and after some thought I decided to combine the two things I like the most, Paint and Spray!

Joanne sent me some awesome paper and embellishments from Ruby Rock it Christmas collection to work with and this is what I came up with. I started with my layout, and took a piece of the craft card stock, a stencil, some paint and a baby wipe and started to smudge some paint around. Since the theme was christmas I chose red and gold sprays to add to the background then set about layering the paper.

I don’t do a lot of layouts but I really like the way this one came out. I actually did two layouts, but I like this one the best.

My second project for the team was a set of tags using some of the cut out pieces and chipboard embellishments from the paper collection. This time I used a piece of red card stock and cut it down to “tag size” before going in with the paint and sprays.

Thanks Amanda for sharing some christmas ideas, and thanks for joining in for the month of december. If you would like to see more of Amanda's work drop by her blog http://evangelinemarie.wordpress.com

Entries into the December challenge are due by December 30 please email a photo to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au so I can put them up in the gallery.

Have a scrappy day
Jo
