Hearts xxx

Good Morning,
Welcome to Scrapbookit and the start of another week, hope you all had a wonderful weekend and had the chance to get crafty.
I am here to share my interpretation of the great challenge that Jane has set for us this month.
It's all about 'Shapes'

*Use circles, hearts, rectangles and triangles on your layout or card or journal page  * Make reference to a shape in your title ie, Circle of life, Follow your heart, You're a Star etc, etc..  AND  *Include on your Layout, card or Art Journal a Technique OR Product that you have never tried before..

Okay so I have focused on the Heart shape for my layout but have plenty of other shapes in my background using the paper range Kaisercraft 'Havana Nights'. The paper hearts are cut/punched from the range and I also used some stickers from the range.

Yes more wedding photos, but hey you work with what you have right.  The chipboard is from the ScrapFX range which I have sprayed with Prima Color Bloom 'Sorbet' and then added some artalchemy Opal Magic wax to make it a little subtle.

Although I didn't add a new technique I did play with this new product that is available instore. It is from Heidi Swapp and its called Metallic Texture Paste 'Teal', I just loved it as it is so smooth and was really easy to spread through my stencils. My title is the stickers which both refer to my hearts.

So I hope you are going to join us this month because you could be in the running for a $30 voucher to our online store. Entries close 30th March.

Just like our winner from February,
Congratulations Tracey B,

Please message me at joannecaird@gmail.com for details of your prize.

Have a great week everyone

March Challenge

Good Morning everyone and welcome to March.

Well it has come time for me to set a challenge and I'm excited to see how you interpret the elements of this fun challenge.

So firstly it's 'ALL ABOUT THE BOYS' this month so your project must focus on the males in our lives. I also want you to add some metallic bits, some raw products (eg cardboard, hemp, cork, string) and add a rustic element.

Okay I hope you have fun with this challenge.
Here is my take on the challenge. This month I am creating with this awesome paper range from
7 Dots Studio  'Cotton Candy Dreams'.

Using the photos of my boy's year six graduation I have added lots of silver elements. The metal die cuts are a Kaisercraft die using 'Spell Binders' A Guilded Life metal sheets, I raided my stash of silver bits and have added some 'Matisse Structure' paint through the new Kaisercraft Mini template 'Woven'.

This range also comes with  sticker sheet's and tag sheet's which go so well with your pages. I have also added some hemp string. I also added some dimension with some Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic paint 'Night' to create my circle and added to the flowers.

For my title I have used some corrugated cardboard letter that I sprayed with Distress Ink 'brushed pewter, added a touch of Lindy's Stamp Gang Spray 'Tibetan Poppy Teal' and some Colour Blast Paste 'Dusty Charcoal' to give it a rusted Patina look.

Well I hope I have given some idea's for the challenge and you join us this month. Don't forget you can add your entry from your blog via our InLinkz button, you can email your entry to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au or you can put it up on our Facebook page.
All entries go into our challenge and you could be the lucky winner of a wonderful prize pack.
Entries close March 30th.

Happy Scrapping

As you may know we have been on retreat this month so I thought I would show you a couple of layouts I created on our fantastic weekend away:

In this layout I have used bits and pieces from the Kaisercraft 'All that glitters' range.

This fun layout was created with the new 'Dylusions' paints, the new 'Kaisercraft' embossing folder and the Heidi Swapp Stencil.

Lastley this fun layout of my boy's 10th birthday ( makes me feel old) using some Scrap FX chipboard and Kaisercraft papers.

Thanks for dropping on by, don't forget to get your entry for our march challenge in by the 30th , I would love to see your take on my challenge.

'All that Glitters'

Welcome Everyone,

Wow three posts in as many the days, I hope you have been inspired to create with our new 'March Challenge'. I'm here to share some projects I created this month using the new Kaisercraft 'All that Glitters' range, and if you love the 'Gold' trend that is happening at the moment in scrapbooking, you will love this range.

Here are my layouts:

This first one I have followed the challenge, and as you can see there is alot of 'Gold' happening. I have added a Dlish doily and embellishments from the range. A Manor House word and some stickers from my stash for the title. I have embossed the tag and sprayed it with some Heidi Swapp Color Mist.

This page also has the gold doily and some WOW vaneer's but its all about the beautiful papers and of course the photo of my beautiful girls.

This range is so pretty I couldn't help but create some cards to have on hand, I just love the florals and pinks. The first two where so quick and easy to make using the little paper pad.

Well that's it from me, I'm off to organise some more fun for the retreat, don't forget to get those entries in by March 30th. The DT girls will be in throughout the month sharing their wonderful work , so pop back in often to check them out.

Happy Scrapping

Daily Grind

Hi Everyone,

ONLY 1 SLEEP TO GO!!!!

It is finally here...the Scrapbookit Retreat! A weekend full of fun, laughter and plenty of scrapbooking. Just what the doctor ordered I say!
If you can't tell I am really looking forward to the weekend!!!

Keep up to date with what happens over the weekend via our Facebook page!

For this post I am actually going to give you an insight into the project I will be sharing as a class this weekend...

I have created a 'Mini Clipboard Album', a cute little way to share and display a special event or some special photos around your home.

I am really looking forward to working with the class on the weekend to complete this project.

I have used the Simple Stories 'Daily Grind' paper pad for this project. I just LOVE Simple Stories...they are my most favourite!

I started with a plain clipboard and have covered it with a 'homemade transparency' (a secret that I have to keep for the class...sorry!).

Here is how it turned out.

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with this project. It came together in the end and it is something that I will be proud to display in my home.

Here are a few more photos...

Not only have I used paper but I have tried to use some different products throughout the mini album like tags, hessian, washi tape, tabs, homemade transperancies etc.
I avoided adding too much dimension so that the paper/card could lie reasonably flat.

Here are some close ups...

Materials used: Simple Stories Daily Grind Paper Pad; clipboard; acetate; serviettes; Kraft Card; hessian; twine; Ink - Versa Colour; Manor House Word; tags (large); Glimmermist and/or Colourshine spray; Mod Podge; Washi tape; rub ons (Kaisercraft - old stock); Kaisercraft Wooden Letters

So there is my retreat off the page project!

If you are heading along to our retreat this weekend and you want to find out more why not book into the class?

If you are not heading to the retreat...have you had a go at this month's challenge???
There are some great entries in the gallery
The gorgeous Mary Bennetts has set this challenge as she is our guest Designer for this month.

For my Challenge I would like to see layers, texture & the title to be from a song or quote. I would also like to see some stamping

Why not give it a shot? And when you have finished email your pic to Jo (joanne@scrapbookit.com.au) to enter the challenge!

Well, for those of you we won't be seeing over the weekend...have a wonderful one!
For all retreat goers...see you really soon!! Yay!!

Until next time,
Mel x

Sweet Sentiments

Welcome to my first post for March!
It is Mel here and what an exciting month we have here at Scrapbookit!

I apologise that it is a little late going live on the blog, but here in Victoria we have had a long weekend. We headed away and had no service and therefore no internet...I survived (just!) but hence this post is a little late. Hope all Victorians had an awesome long weekend!

So back to the exciting month we have here at Scrapbookit...
We have a new Guest Design Team Member, a huge welcome to Mary Bennetts, thanks for being our guest designer!
Mary has set a great challenge for us this month. It is to create a layout using texture, layers and a title using a song or quote. We already have some awesome entries...so make sure you get in and start creating!

This month we are also heading off on retreat! Yay! I can’t wait!
I have been busily preparing a class for the retreat so the majority of my time has been spent designing, planning and coordinating that. I am so looking forward to sharing my project with you all.

Here are a few sneak peeks…

There are still places left at the retreat, so why not come along?

If you can’t make it…make sure you pop back in here later in the month when I share with you the project for my class.

So for my March project I have been a little laid back.
Easter is on its way so I have created three cards to share with you.
Great cards to give to your loved ones this Easter time, especially if you can't be with them.

I have used the Graphic 45 Sweet Sensations Collection. Such pretty paper. There are also pages that have Valentines Day images and sentiments on them…they are in store…why not get yourself organised early for next Valentines Day?

Here are my Easter cards...

Materials used: Kaisercards; Rosie Studio Pearlised Cards and Envelopes; Tissue Paper – Krystal Tissue; Graphic 45 – Sweet Sensations Collection; Manor House Creations frames; wooden embellishments – assorted from my stash and a Manor House Creations flower.

How gorgeous are those little decorative frames by Manor House? They are so sweet. You can find them in store.

Well, that is all from me. I am now starting a countdown to the retreat…we would love you to come along. Contact Jo for more details.

Only 11 sleeps to go until Retreat! Yay!!

Have a great week!

Melx

March Challenge

Good Morning
Well here we are in  'Mad March', with lots happening at 'Scrapbookit' this month. I am back to share my layout using Mary's challenge.

I am really enjoying playing with the mixed media products that are available in store and online at 'Scrapbookit'.

I have used the Heidi Swapp sunburst template and Gel Medium to create my textured background and some old HS stamps for my titles. By using the bright colour of my Dylusions Sprays I have given my page that real summery feel I was after with these photos of my granddaughters in our pool.
You can never go wrong with a bit of bling and I have just added a few sheets from the 'Kaisercraft' Telegraph Road small paper pad as a backing to my photo's.

Now here are a couple of more projects Mary created out of the 'Blubelle' Kit I sent her. Mary has certainly used everything in the kit to its potential by making all 5 layouts and 2 cards.
Thanks again Mary for sharing your work and these products.

I look forward to your entries in this months challenge, for now I'm off to pack kits for our great classes on offer at our retreat. I bet you wish you were joining us! If you would like to give me a call on 0407058604 and I could fit you and your friends in.

Happy Scrapping
