Cards Galore!

For those of you that know me well...the title of this post has just shocked the pants off you!!!!
Mel and cards - really?  I hear you ask!

YES!
REALLY!

My whole post today is all about cards!
And very timely with Father's Day being just around the corner.

This month I have been showing off the awesome Kaisercraft 'Time Machine' collection. I think I have said (like 1 million times) that I LOVE this collection.

For my final post this month I have used some of my scraps from this collection to make some "Masculine" cards.

The first card is a card I made for my Dad for his birthday....

With this collection I have also made a 40th Birthday card for my husband. Shhh! Don't tell him. I have used a Scrap FX embellishment and used the Kaisercraft Template - Cogs and some KaiserMist for some added interest to the card.

I have also made a Father's Day card.

As you can see I have made these cards rather basic and easy to pull together quickly. So if you are running out of time to whip up a Father's Day card...then feel free to scraplift some of these. You will have them done in no time.

I have also made some Father's Day cards with a different 'masculine' themed paper. This is also a Kaisercraft collection called 'Scrap Yard'
Here they both are...

Whilst on the card theme I thought I would share with you the three cards I made using the 'A Touch of Gold' collection by Kaisercraft. These are very basic but I was able to fiddle around and put them together whilst at the Kaisercraft Retailers Days.
Would make great wedding or anniversary cards....

Another gorgeous collection!

Well, that is all I have for you today.
Have you got your challenge in for this month yet?
Remember - Masculine, Memories and Mist.
You only have a few days to get it in to be in the running for a Scrapbookit prize.

Hope you have a scrappy sort of weekend.

Time Machine

Morning Everyone,

I'm here today to share with you some more of the AWESOME Time Machine collection.
As I have said previously,  Jo and I were lucky enough to have a sneak peek and a chance to use this collection at the Kaisercraft Retailers Days in July.

We got to spend some time with Melissa Kennedy from Kaisercraft Australia in a workshop.
Today I will share with you the two layouts I created at these days.
They fit so perfectly with this month's challenge...Mists, Memories and Masculine.

Here is my first layout..."This Is Why I Love You"

We have used the NEW Kaisercraft collection Time Machine including the collectables and the sticker sheet, the Kaisercraft Template - Cogs, Kaisercraft Mists - Antique Gold, the NEW Time Machine Clear Stamp, the NEW Kaisercraft Die Cogs and Clocks (which Melissa so kindly cut out for us!) and some Cog Wooden Flourishes. We also used inks and corrugated cardboard.

Here are some close ups...

You may have noticed in the above close up...the die cut piece looks as though it has a gold tinge to it. Well, that is because Melissa Kennedy has this great way of using products for several layouts. Because we were working on the two layouts at the same time we could use the die cut as a template on one layout and then use it as an embellishment on the other!

Which is a great way to introduce my second layout....'Remember this...'

I have used all of the same products for this layout as I did for the last. However, Melissa did supply us with an embossed piece of card with cogs. We used ink softly over the embossing to enhance the designs.

Here are some close ups...

Can you see in the above close up where we have used the Cog Die Cut, from the first layout, as a template?

The wooden flourish - Cog that you can see here has been sprayed with KaiserMist and then inked. I love this effect.

I don't know about you but I LOVE these papers!
They are so easy to use, so versatile and create awesome layouts.

Thank you to Melissa Kennedy for such great ideas for these layouts.

Make sure you pop in to the online store OR in person to grab some of this paper from Scrapbookit. It will fly out the door - so get in quick!

Don't forget you have until the 30th of August to get your entries in to win a Scrapbookit prize pack! Can't wait to see what you create!

Look forward to sharing some more projects with you before the end of the month.

Until then...Happy Scrapping!

AUGUST CHALLENGE REVEAL!

Good morning!

AUGUST - Wow! Where has this year gone?
Today is the first day of the last month of winter here in Australia...some of us are happy about that we can not wait for this cold weather to be over.

No matter what the weather, wherever you are, there is no reason not to participate in this months challenge here at Scrapbookit.

I am lucky enough to be the first cab off the rank this month. I know, unusual that I am ready to go but thought I would give Jo a little beginning of the month rest.

So this month we are sharing with you some of the new Kaisercraft Collections.
As you know we both went to the Kaisercraft Retailers Days. This month is the first of what we saw while we were there.

We have decided to get a little MESSY this month. Our challenge is all about M.

All you need to do is create a project that covers the following M words...

*Masculine
* Memories
* Mists

Here is what I have created...

I started with a regular piece of cardboard that I got as packaging when I purchased an appliance.
Just as we did in Jo's class at the retreat in March, I stripped back some of the card to uncover the corrugated section.
I then distress inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain.

I then used the Kaisercraft Template - Cogs and some mists to add to my background.
I used the Tim Holtz Distress Spray - Antiqued Bronze and the Colour Bloom - Antique Gold Mist.

In the bottom right hand corner of the photo I have used the Kaisercraft Tic Toc Clear Stamp. I have used some of the Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder - Vintage Photo.
I really like this embossing powder when creating masculine layouts....it leaves a really rough texture.

I have used one of the newest collections by Kaisercraft this month and for this layout. I have used some of the papers and the collectables.
It is called Time Machine!
I just love it. It is so easy to work with and I really love using it for those masculine pages.
I generally say that I am "not a green person" but I actually love the green in this range.

This collection is a MUST have in everyone's scrappy stash.

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed my latest using the gorgeous Kaisercraft Time Machine.

Don't forget you have got to be in it to win it...
Make sure your M inspired project is uploaded or emailed to Jo before the end of the month (August 30th is the closing date).

I will be back later in the month to share some more of my Time Machine projects...until then make sure you pop back in later this week and check out the gorgeous work Jo has been creating.

Happy August 1st!
