On top of the world

Good morning,

I hope you are enjoying this month's challenge set by Jane. I really found this sketch fun to work with. This month I am creating with the latest release from Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Boy's Rule' and if you have seen this range it is Awesome!! So many great pages have been shared and I am loving all the elements that come with it. (All available in the shop).

Even though this range was designed for all the 'Boys' in our lives it is so versatile that you can use it for any photo.
Here is my take on the sketch:

So I might have cheated a little and have used 3" photo's and squares instead but it's all about interpretation right???
The two extra elements of the challenge I have used is some Kaisercraft Washi tape and ink/paints.

One of the new items in this range is the new clear sticker's which I have used and love them.  On some of my spare squares I have added some Vicki Boutin paint  and used my ink pen to frame some squares.

I hope you can join in the challenge, you can be in the running for a $30 voucher from SCRAPBOOKIT. To enter your project you can add it to the Inlinkz on the side tab, email it to joannecaird@gmail.com.au or add it to our Facebook page. Entries close 30th June.

Enjoy the rest of your long weekend

Family - Prima

Good Morning,

I'm back on this chilly winters morning to share another page I created using my 6x6 Prima 'Love Clippings' paper pad. This time I have used the 'B' sides of the papers which have brown vintage tones. These worked really well with the photo of our 3 children.

I have stayed with the Geometric theme of this month and have used the Kaisercraft 6x6 stencil which I used a mix of Colour Blast pastes Sienna and Leather. I love how these pastes can combine.
My title is a WOW chipboard mini word and I have used a quote cutout from the paper pad.

Although it is hard to show in the photo of my LO I have added some of the new Prima 'art alchemy' Opal Magic Wax and Antique Brilliance Wax. I have added it to the edges of my triangles and it gives a great aged finish with shimmer. The small black triangles are 3L photo corners.

Today I would also like to share my Retreat Class project, using a background of Black Gesso, and the Sienna ColourBlast Paste. I have sprayed my background with the Bling 'Shimmer spray, coloured some 2Crafty chipboard with the new Lindy Stamp Gang's shaker powder. My die cut is from NeatNcrafty. Added some Kaisercraft Glitter paperand edged my page with some guilding wax to finish it off. Thetitle is a Kaisercraft die cut. All these products are available instore so if you are interested send me a message and I can help you out.

Don't forget our June challenge runs until the 30th, would love to see how you interpret our Geometric, Chipboard and 6x6 criteria.

CROP DAY is this Saturday 17th, why not join us for a great day of crafting?

June Challenge

Good Morning,

Welcome to June, yes already.
Time is flying by, we have had such a busy time here at Scrapbookit with another successful retreat with lots of laughs, great classes, and lots of projects completed by the wonderful girls that joined us.

It's my turn to set the challenge this month so I thought I would do something just a little different.

We all have those 6x6 paper pads in our stash for those cards we are going to make one day! Well I want you to use them up on your layouts, Yes only papers from your 6x6 stash, only Geometeric shapes and some chipboard are the requirements this month.

I hope you have fun with it :).

Here is my layout I created using the papers from the new Prima 'Love Clippings' range.

This paper pad has some beautiful 'chic' pages full of lovely flowers and my title 'Giggles' is from the alphabet stickers that are in the pad. My chipboard is from Dusty Attic and  coloured with new ColourBlast Paste 'Blush' I have used the paste with a new 6x6 kaisercraft stencil to create my lines.

Entries for the challenge close on June 30th and can be emailed to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au, added from your blog via our Inlinkz tab in the side bar, or you can upload them to our Facebook page.

Looking forward to see your take on my challenge,

Have a great day
Jo.

'Secret Garden'

Morning everyone,
I hope you all had a fantastic long weekend and manage some crafty time. I am back to share a few more projects I have done using the Kaisercraft  'Secret Garden' range.

Firstly  this layout was created using the Prima 'Bloomin Girls' stencil which I have used black gesso to create the texture, I have added some Bella bling, the title is a Kaisercraft wood vaneer word, and so are the ornate corners I used.

Next I have created some cards using the collectables and the small paper pad. I have had a play with my copics which I don't seem to do enough of these days, but loved just colouring in these images I have printed from 'Pinterest'.

I hope you enjoyed my shares today remember all the products are available instore or I can soon order them in. I hope you get some time to enter our June challenge you still have plenty of time till the end of the month.

Happy Scrapping

Adventure, Animals and Arrows

Hi Everyone,

June? Really? Where is this year going?

Today I am here to share with you my take on this months challenge.
A fantastic challenge that allows you to be as creative or as literal as you like when interpreting the challenge.

All you need to do is include in some way the following into your project...
* Adventure

* Animals

* Arrows

Here is what I came up with

I have used one of the brand new collections from Kaisercraft "Into the Wild"
It was really fun to work with.

I have used the paper collection, some of the collectables and that inspiring specialty die-cut paper through the centre. I also used some of the stickers to break up the solid colour at the top of the specialty paper.

I have used the word 'Adventure' in my title and the photos convey adventure.

'Animals' - I have covered ....
1) Used photos with animals
2) Used patterned paper with animals on it

'Arrows' .......I have used heaps around my layout.

You may not have looked carefully but I have added my own touch.
Just a small amount of embossing. I used the Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder - Vintage Photo. I love the effect this embossing powder gives.

Here is a close up of the title...

A simple layout, but I love it and I hope you do too!!!!
That is as simple as it is...3 features to include on your project.
Have you thought about what you will be entering into this months challenge?
You have until the 30th June to get your entries in.

Well we have a huge weekend here in Rutherglen with the Winery Walkabout.
It is always a fun weekend though.
Hope you are getting up to something fun on this Queen's Birthday Long Weekend.

Enjoy!

June Challenge

Welcome to June everyone,

Here we are into the start of winter already a perfect time of the year to stay indoors and get creating. This month we have another fantastic triple challenge for you. I find these are a fun way to get you started on a project and it can suit such a variety of styles of scrapping. So to get you inspired this month here is what we have come up with,
  • Adventure
  • Animals
  • Arrows
You can interpret this as you will but your project must include these prompts in some way, Entries are due by the 30th June. You can upload via InLinkz on the side bar or you can send an e-mail to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au. Here are a couple of pages I created.

Using the new release from Kaisercraft 'Secret Garden' I had fun with these photo's of my grand daughters on one of their many beach adventures that they go on. I have added some WOW wood vaneer arrows and found up some Kaisercraft puffy stickers that just suited the page perfectly. I have added some Kaisercraft spray mist, some stamped texture images from 'Darkroom Door' and some modelling paste to create my background. The title are 'Thickers'.

This page is from the same range (can you believe it), the range has a beautiful Die cut Doily and some wonderful floral collectables. I have just layered up the collectables added some Kindy glitz for a sparkle and edged most with 'Distress inks'.

So I hope you can have some fun with this challenge and share your ADVENTURES!

Happy Scrapping

June Challenges.

Good Morning everyone
On this miserable wet morning, we are ready for some more challenges and hopefully get you crafting inside in the warm.

This month Brenda has set a challenge with a sketch she has created and the theme this month is:
MUM's the word, whether your layout is about you as a mum, or sharing your mothers day, or what is special about your MUM. We want to share this special person in our pages.

Here is the sketch to follow:

Here is my page I have created using the 'Kaisercraft Porcelain Rose' papers and the collectables, with some hand made flowers, felt, and thickers.

Here is a couple of close ups of the great collectables in this range and my flowers.

This month's childrens challenge is:
SCHOOL
You can create a layout that has anything to do with your school, so have fun!
Entries can be e-mailed to Joanne by the 30th June to be eligible for a great prize pack and to be featured on the blog.
