♡ Friends ♡

Hello!

Welcome to my second post for this month....what a month that it has been.
Have you stayed up to date with our blog and the projects the girls have been sharing?
We have truly 'gone all out' this month challenging ourselves with colours and styles that we don't normally create with. If you haven't seen our projects why not grab a cuppa and head back through the blog.

We have also got some gorgeous entries coming in. Be sure to check these out here on the blog or over on our Facebook page ~ some great inspiration right there!

Today I have a DOUBLE layout to share with you! It isn't often that I create double layouts but I just couldn't go past a double with the two photos that I used. I really could have put both photos onto a single layout but I would have had to reprint my photos (me being lazy)!

So, here is my layout...

Such a bright and fun page of my gorgeous friends on our 2017 Geelong trip!

I have been playing with the Ultimate Crafts "L'aquarelle Designs" paper collection this month. So not my type of paper.....!!!! However, I have loved what I have been creating with this paper collection.

One part of our challenge this month is to use a COLOUR you don't normally use or like...well purple, oranges and yellows I don't normally use.
I have started with the paper from 'L'aquarelle Designs' collection and then added some more purple with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Shaker - Polka Purple. I did this across both pages.

I then cut some colour squares from the paper collection and added them to my pages. I also splattered some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in the background in Teal and Peach.

I decided that it was all a bit bright so added some stamping to the background using my Darkroom Door French Script Background Stamp and the IndigoBlu Ledger Background Stamp. This also helps with the challenge requirement 'Use stamping somewhere on your project'

I also stamped a few IndigoBlu 'Ink Splat Butterfly' images in the corners where I had planned and ended up placing some die cut butterfly embellishments.

The cute butterfly embellishments are created using the Kaisercraft Dies and Stamps - Flutter. These are a great product - two uses in one - stamping an image and then die cutting. Love them!
I stamped onto some of the colourful papers from 'L'aquarelle Designs' collection.
Another part of the challenge ticked off...'Use die cuts on your project'

The black circle die cut silhouettes are from 'Scrap FX' - they are pretty cool!
I finished with my title using the Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic: Buzz Words ~ 'Friends' and added the final part of the title handwritten ~ 'are the Family you Choose'

The last part of the challenge completed 'Friends' in any form that you choose - photo, title, quote journalling....(I have hidden my journalling behind the photo of Jane and I 😃)

I also added some of the Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic: Buzz Words on the other half of the layout. These have been in my collection for years...so nice to use them again!

Well, that is all from me today! I do love how this double layout turned out.
I hope that you are putting the final touches on your little project to enter in our challenge for the chance to win a fantastic prize from Scrapbookit! You've got to be in it to win it.

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Cherished Friendships

Happy Easter everyone!
I hope that you all had a wonderful Easter.

I'm here today to share with you my first project for this month, April.
I'm hoping that you are encouraged to join us this month for the awesome challenge Jo has set for us!

Here is what I have come up with...

The requirements for this challenge are:

1. Friends (It can be in your photo, title, journalling, a quote)
2. Create with a colour that you don't normally use or like
3. Use die cuts on your project
4. Use stamping somewhere on your layout

I have used the same photo as Jo this month (no we didn't plan it!!! Sorry Jo!); two beautiful friends of mine that I truly cherish. This day was a very special day and it was so lovely that we could help Jo celebrate. I have used friends in my stamp quote as well ~ Friends are the sunshine of life!

I have actually used two colours that I don't really like, PINK and GREEN. For those of you who know me well...neither of these colours enter my scrapbooking world very often (usually only if I have been challenged or it is for a gift). Saying that, I love how this layout has turned out.

The paper collection that I have been given to use this month is by Ultimate Crafts. It is called L'aquarelle Designs.
These papers are sold in a paper pad (24 double sided papers) which is filled with a range of different colours (most of which I would not ever use) but for those of you out there that love these colours I have used, purples, oranges, butterflies, birds etc...you would love this!!

I have fussy cut from the paper these gorgeous flowers and the bird to create my embellishment cluster.

I have also used the Kaisercraft Dies and Stamps sets - Feathered Friends and Flutter to stamp and die cut the images - flowers, butterflies on some of the patterned paper. I have used the pigment ink Brilliance Pearlescent Olive for the stamping.

I have also stamped some butterflies using the Memento Ink in Desert Sand. This was a great way to stamp in a way that is very subtle.

I have used the Kaisercraft 6x6 Template - Fern in the background with the Olive Brilliance pigment ink in the background.

I have also splattered some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine - Peach in the background as well.

Check out these other great stamps that I have used (some of them) as part of my layout.
I have also used the cute puffy alphabet stickers you can see in the background on my layout for the title 'Cherished'

Well, I hope that you have been inspired in some way by my project today.
Most of the products that have been used on this project are available to buy in the Scrapbookit store.

Don't forget that there is a $30 voucher up for grabs for a lucky winner if you enter this months challenge.

What are you waiting for?
Go...get started...we can't wait to see what you come up with.

Who said Winter had to be drab!!

Hello!
I'm back with another layout to share with you all.
I had a lot of fun with this layout, using a photo of my youngest son Sebby and I. Once again I have used the 7 dots studio - Northern Lights Paper Collection.

I started my Layout with a patterned piece of paper then added some Gesso to the background, I then mixed some of the Colour Blast - Colour Artist Ink in Berry with some gesso and painted it around the page, then I used a Kaisercraft stencil and added some stencilling over the top with my Dylusions paint in the vibrant turquoise, some of these I highlighted with my black sharpie pen just to help make them standout a bit. Next I added a whole lot of different patterned paper which I tore some of the edges and added some doodling to as well.

I added some splatters of spray with the Colour Blast - Colour Spray in Road Base and also some of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray in Tibetan Poppy Teal! This spray has the most gorgeous shine to it, it's Amazing!
I then added my pictures which I had backed with some black Kaisercraft cardstock and then added my title with some script font and some black lettering from my stash!

Added some of the tags and stickers from the paper pack, and cut out this gorgeous Uniquely Creative Light Bulb Metal Die on the right hand side of my page with my sizzix and some sparkly turquoise paper and my layout is complete!
Have you entered our Challenge for this month yet? Jo is very generously donating a store gift voucher to the lucky winner! How good is that?!?!
Saturday we had our monthly crop day and had such a lovely day, Jo runs these crop days from her beautiful home and they are available for anyone to come and scrap for the day and have a little shop whilst they are at it!
Everything I have used on my Layout today is available to purchase from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au head on over and have a look!
Thanks for your time today, I'm up next month with another exciting challenge I have created! Can't wait to share it with you all!
Until then Happy Scrapping

Stop and Smell the Roses!

Hello
I'm back again with another "Spring" themed layout, this photo is of my daughter quite a few years ago. Whilst I wasn't entirely sure that the red in her dress matched this paper I decided to use it anyway and I'm quite happy with the way it turned out.

I used the Ultimate Crafts 'Bohemian Bouquet' paper  range.
I have done quite a bit of fussy cutting and also layering of the different patterned paper.
The clear sticker down the bottom of the page is a Kaisercraft clear sticker and the Script Font I have just done with a sharpie.
With my Butterflies I have used a piece of white cardstock and played with some different coloured Dylusions Inks, I have then used the Kaisercraft Butterfly Die and cut some Butterflies out of it, I really Love the effect this has given the Butterflies they are a beautiful shimmery colour and add an extra element to my page. I have stuck them don with some Ranger Glossy Accents.
I had a lot of fun with this page.

I'm looking forward to seeing everybody's take on my Spring challenge, I want to see a huge amount of entries this month! There are some great prizes to be won!
Have you been over to the all NEW www.scrapbookitshop.com.au website yet? It's looking Amazing and Jo is loading new product's all the time!
Thanks for stopping by

November Challenge!

Hello and Welcome to our November Challenge here at Scrapbookit.
This month the papers that I got to work with reminded me a lot of Spring, which is where I got the idea for this month's challenge. So for this month the Challenge is to use the Quote
'Live Life in Full Bloom'
and to include three(3) things on your Layout that begin with the Letter S! Easy right...

Here is my Layout.

I have worked with Ultimate Craft's 'Bohemian Bouquet' paper pad. I have used the quote across the top of the page and  I have written this with a permanent marker.
My three 'S' are:
Sunshine Colour Blast shimmer cubes
Stamping-Butterfly
Stencils

I started my layout by making a patchwork background with different colour blue papers out of the paper pack, I then used a butterfly stamp with some Colour Blast Shimmer cubes in the Sunshine colour and applied these to my background as well. I fussy cut the flowers down the right hand side of the page and added some of the butterflies that go with the paper collection.

The large piece of paper behind my photo I sprayed with some Dylusions Spray, added some more of the Colour Blast Shimmer Cube in Sunshine and then I added some texture with some Colour blast texture paste and a script font stencil.

The dream catcher wood chippy is also from the Ultimate Craft collection, I covered it with some Ken Oliver Crafts Liquid Metal in Yellow Gold and added some glossy accents over the top and finished it off with some twine.

The little word stickers I have used from a Kaisercraft sticker book, I found these matched really well and was happy with the final touch it made to the page.
The little flowers are from Cocoa Vanilla.
All of the products that I have used on this layout are available from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au.   Jo has such an amazing range of products in her online shop, I can highly recommend that you have a look.

I hope that you have enjoyed my Layout and my challenge for the month.

I look forward to seeing all of your entries.

Thanks for stopping by Jane xxx

Welcome to July

Welcome to July everyone,
Well a new month and a new Challenge by our Guest Design Team Member
Judy Willey.

Judy has a great sketch challenge this month with the added criteria of fussy cutting, and either or all of the following additions
*stamping
*buttons
*ribbon.

 Hi,

my name is Judy and I am delighted to have been asked to guest design for SCRAPBOOKIT. I enjoy working with both textiles and paper and have been scrapbooking for about 10 years.   I live in a regional city in beautiful north Queensland with my husband, a keen sailor. We have 7 beautiful grandchildren who are the inspiration for much of my scrapbooking. Our nautical adventures are also a great source of inspiration
Jo has sent me some absolutely beautiful goodies to work with and I have had so much fun creating my layout and a card.

Judy has used the 'Australiana' range from Ultimate Crafts which includes papers and postcards, also some acetate stickers from Kaisercfraft.

Here is a beautiful card Judy created adding a Green Tara flower as a centre piece.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful projects Judy, you  can enter into this great challenge by creating your own project and adding it to the Inlinkz in the side bar or send me your entry at joanne@scrapbookit.com.au

Entries close July 30th.

Have a wonderful week and we will be back to share some more inspiration with you soon.

Jo

Magnolia Lane...

Welcome to my first post for March!
I'm not sure about you but the continual 40° days are starting to wear thin on me. However, as I write this there is a cool breeze and a change in the weather appearing! Thank goodness.

What a sensational challenge we have this month at Scrapbookit.
A gorgeous mood board that our Guest Designer Delsie has created to inspire us.
For those of you that know me well...whilst I was inspired I was also panicking a little on the inside...

Here is the mood board...

How will this inspire you? What parts will you take and create with?
Don't forget the word 'Cherish'

Here is the layout that I have created...
A layout of my Nan and I.
This photo was one of the first my hubby put on his Instagram account...not the best quality photo but it is one special photo.

Unfortunately the colours haven't photographed well.

This month I have been using the paper collection by Ultimate Crafts - Magnolia Lane. A very pretty pack with lots of pinks and purples.

To create the background I used Transparent Gesso over the white cardstock so that my sprays didn't seep into the cardstock but also to provide some strength to the cardstock as I was going to be adding lots of media.

I used Kaiser Mists - Candy, White, Winter Grey;
Tattered Angels - Glimmer Mist - Denim Blue; Dylusions Paint - White Linen and Colourbox - Fluid Chalk Inkpad -Rouge to create the background.
I then used the Kaisercraft Damask Quarters template and some moulding paste. I used some Versamark ink and some of the Colourbox - Fluid Chalk Inkpad -Rouge to rub over the top of the dry moulding paste.

I have used small strips and parts of the Magnolia Lane paper to create my layout. I have distress inked the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain.

I have fussy cut some of the flower arrangements from the paper to add to my layout.

As you can see above I have used the gorgeous Dusty Attic - Heart Attack stencil. Prior to embossing I again used the moulding paste, Tattered Angels Denim Blue Glimmer Mist and the Colourbox - Fluid Chalk Inkpad -Rouge to stencil the hearts. I then embossed them with Metallic Melts - Gold Nugget Embossing Powder.

I have used the gorgeous Dusty Attic - Dusty in Bloom - Bridal Veil flowers and have handcut out some gorgeous butterflies from the Magnolia Lane paper.
I have added the gorgeous heart shaped pearl embellies and some lace. Aren't they just gorgeous?

I used some black alphas for the word Cherish but toned the black down with white paint.

The final thing I wanted to share with you is the Kaisercraft - Wood Flourish - Frame that I have included on my layout. It is framing one of the quotes from the Magnolia Lane paper collection.

There was a lot of trial and experiment with the frame. It started with paint, then I added moulding paste, then ink, spray, some more paint, some more ink and then finally some Metallic Melts - Gold Nugget Embossing Powder.

Well, I hope that something has inspired you to get creating!
Don't forget to enter your project into the March challenge...all entries are due by March 30th and can be linked to the blog or emailed to Joanne - joanne@scrapbookit.com.au

To all of the lovely ladies heading on the Scrapbookit Retreat - hope you have an awesome weekend - so wish I could be there with you! Have a great time.

Until next time,
Melx
