Who said Winter had to be drab!!

Hello!
I'm back with another layout to share with you all.
I had a lot of fun with this layout, using a photo of my youngest son Sebby and I. Once again I have used the 7 dots studio - Northern Lights Paper Collection.

I started my Layout with a patterned piece of paper then added some Gesso to the background, I then mixed some of the Colour Blast - Colour Artist Ink in Berry with some gesso and painted it around the page, then I used a Kaisercraft stencil and added some stencilling over the top with my Dylusions paint in the vibrant turquoise, some of these I highlighted with my black sharpie pen just to help make them standout a bit. Next I added a whole lot of different patterned paper which I tore some of the edges and added some doodling to as well.

I added some splatters of spray with the Colour Blast - Colour Spray in Road Base and also some of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray in Tibetan Poppy Teal! This spray has the most gorgeous shine to it, it's Amazing!
I then added my pictures which I had backed with some black Kaisercraft cardstock and then added my title with some script font and some black lettering from my stash!

Added some of the tags and stickers from the paper pack, and cut out this gorgeous Uniquely Creative Light Bulb Metal Die on the right hand side of my page with my sizzix and some sparkly turquoise paper and my layout is complete!
Have you entered our Challenge for this month yet? Jo is very generously donating a store gift voucher to the lucky winner! How good is that?!?!
Saturday we had our monthly crop day and had such a lovely day, Jo runs these crop days from her beautiful home and they are available for anyone to come and scrap for the day and have a little shop whilst they are at it!
Everything I have used on my Layout today is available to purchase from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au head on over and have a look!
Thanks for your time today, I'm up next month with another exciting challenge I have created! Can't wait to share it with you all!

Luv to Create

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is well and you are all getting plenty of time to create.
Me on the other hand...very little time to create and feeling like I have lost my creative mojo.
Have you ever felt the same?
I'm sure I will click back into creativity mode very soon.

My post today is to share with you a journal page that I have created.
I started this page to try and revive my creativity.
Here is what I came up with...

Whilst it may not look like it I started with a base of Colour Blast Artist Ink - Marine. I used water to move the ink around the page.

I then added some Gel Medium through the Tim Holtz - Layering Stencil - Blocks to allow the gorgeous Marine colour to come through the stencil.

I then painted straight over the whole page using the Colour Blast Artist Ink - Barley.

Once dry, I spread some Moulding Paste and Black Gesso randomly around the page.

I used some of the gorgeous Colour Blast Sprays (Colour Spray - Deep Water and Colour Shimmer Spray - Bling) to add a bit of a shimmer to the background that I had created.

I used a paint scrapper and my Dylusions Paint - Vibrant Turquoise to create some feature lines in the background.

I rubbed some Vintage Berry Gilding Wax and a zig zag template randomly around the background.
I also spread small amounts of the Ultramarine Gilding Wax randomly around the page.

I added the 7 Dots Studio Paper Collection - Paint Chip and Die Cut Elements as well as the Uniquely Creative Light Bulb Metal Die.

I finished with the 7 Dots Studio Paint Chips Word Stickers as well Doodlebug Design Inc - Loopy Lou Alpha Stickers to complete my page.

How cool is this gorgeous collection from 7 Dots Studio? It is called Paint Chips. If you are in love with it and NEED to add it to your collection...be sure to pop by to the Scrapbookit Shop online or contact Jo.

Better still, why not enter this months challenge and if you are the winning entry Jo will send you a voucher for the store and you can get your new paper collection 'Paper Chips' with that!!!

All you need to do to enter the challenge is...

Create a project with the theme 'All About Love'

You must use the following 3-2-1 recipe:

Georgy Girl.

Georgy Girl...
Hello, I hope you are all well and have had a fantastic Christmas and New Year.
Mel has set us a really great challenge this month, I have had a lot of fun working on this Layout of my niece and I, which was taken on the night of her Deb Ball.
This is my Layout!
I was lucky enough to be able to use the 7 DOTS STUDIO Northern Lights paper collection.
I started my layout with a piece of patterned paper out of the range, I then applied some gesso over the page, I added some Dylusions Paint in bubblegum pink then added some Colour Blast Artist Ink in Berry using the packaging technique. Next I got my stencils out and added some of the Colour Blast Colour Paste through my first stencil with Royalty, I then added some Gesso mixed with some mauve paint through the Kaisercraft heart stencil.

For Mel's 3-2-1 Challenge We had to use three different colors,, I used pink, black, mauve and many more colors as well! I had to use two embellishments which I used some little bows that I made up using some twine, some small hearts that I have punched out and lot's of different tags and word stickers from the paper pack. The last part of the challenge was to include a song title or parts of a lyric, I chose to use the song Georgy Girl which is sung by the band The Seekers. I chose this as my title because it is actually what we call my niece Georgina.

I stuck my photo onto some black cardstock then added several different patterned paper underneath it as well as the black tissue paper which borders the left hand side of my photo.
I used my sizzix with a Kaisercraft die to cut out my title then used some of the word stickers out of the paper pack to finish my layout!
I added some doodling around the outside of my layout then I was finished. I hope you have gotten some inspiration out of this layout.

Do you have anyone that you think may be interested in joining our monthly challenges? We would love to see some new faces in our little scrapbookit community, every month Jo gives out THE BEST prizes, you have nothing to loose to enter and invite all of your friends we would love to see all of your work.
Jo's up on the blog next, I look forward to seeing what she has come up with.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blogpost,

A NEW MONTH...A NEW CHALLENGE!

Hello Everyone!!!!

Hasn't the first month of the year gone so quick??
We, here at Scrapbookit, had a little break over the month of January. Whilst it was lovely to have a rest...I missed my scrapbooking incredibly!!

Anyway, we are back and we can't wait to share with you some great challenges, projects, and inspiration this year!

Today my job is to share with you our new challenge for February.
It is a 3 - 2 - 1 Theme Challenge!

Our challenge this month is to create a project following the theme "All About Love" with the following elements:

3 - Use at least 3 different colours
2 - Include embellishments
1 - Include a song title/lyrics as part of your title/journalling

Your project could be about something, someone or somewhere you love!

Here is what I have come up with...

This month I am using the very fun 7 Dots Studio - Paint Chips paper collection. How gorgeous is it? It is so versatile and a lot of fun to play with.
I have also used the collections Die Cut Elements and Element Sticker Sheet.

I have followed the challenge guidelines with
- at least 3 colours in my background - created with the awesome Colour Blast Artist Inks in Marine, Sunburn and Barley.
I have just painted them on with a brush. They did their own blending as the colours joined. In some sections, I have splattered some water after the inks had dried to take out some of the colour

I have used embellishments...firstly a Kinder Kreations Lasercut Designs chipboard "Me & You" and I have also used some of the Die Cut Elements hearts as embellishments as well.

My song title/lyrics are from a Kenny Chesney song called "Me & You"

I have attempted to match my background with some of the patterns on the tags and papers. These were stamped using the top of a lid and then the patterning is drawn by free hand. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this background.

I have also used the Kaisercraft Clear Texture Stamp 'Texture Stains" with black Archival Ink in the background.
And of course, I have followed the theme of 'All About Love' scrapping one of my favourite photos of hubby and I.

Well, that is about all from me today.
Please don't forget to get your entries in for this months challenge - a great little prize is up for grabs, you have until February 28th to enter.
To enter: take a photo of your project and upload it to our Facebook page or to our blog. You can always send it through to Jo via email as well if Facebook or the blog don't work for you.

I can't wait to see what you come up with for the first challenge for the year at Scrapbookit.

Be sure to check by the blog regularly this month to see what Jo and Jane have been up to during their break for this month.

So grap a cuppa and join in the fun.

Firsly I just wanted to share a couple more layouts that I created at our retreat at the start of the month. This month I am using 7 Dots Studio range 'Hazy Days', I love the grungy look of this range but it has been a beautiful background for my daughters Deb photo's.

I have used Colourblast paste 'Bling' through a Tim Holtz stencil, added a FWAB peasrl flourish, some Green Tara beautiful lace and from my stash I found some Martha Stewart paper flower. The title is from 2Crafty which I sprayed with a Kaisercraft mist.

I wish you could see the beautiful shimmer of the ColourBlast paste's on this page, they are just perfect. Sienna, Bling, Leather and Deep Water are the colours I have used.

I have added some Indigo Blu stamps to the background and some of the diecuts and stickers that come with this range. Love this photo of our catch up with my 18 year old xx.

Hazy Days 7 Dots Syudio

Welcome to another share of our wonderful challenge, set by DT member Mel.

This month we have a sketch to follow , which I love because it gives you a great starting point. We also have 5 other requirements to add to our projects.

1. U or You
2. Circles
3. Spray
4. Stencil/Template
5. Your Favourite Product.

So here is my take on the challenge

This month I am creating with the fantastic 7 Dots studio's 'Hazy Days' . This range is just great to create those pages that you want to look a bit grungy. I followed the sketch and have used different pages in the range. I have used a photo that has been altered with a filter from Facebook which I thought was a bit funky. My circles are a new product from ScrapFX and are a silhouette cardstock diecut, I have sprayed sections of my background with a 'ColourBlast' spray 'Saffron'.
Using my favourite product 'ColourBlast Paste' Leather this time, I have put it through a Kaisercraft template to give the splatter effects. The funky arrows are also from ScrapFx. My title is a lightbox letter that I have just glued in place.

Because we have just been to retreat I had the opportunity to get lots of pages completed, here is another page using the 'Hazy days'.

Lots of 'Deep Water' ColourBlast Paste, Lindy Stamp Gang sprays,ScrapFX chipboard and Kaisercraft Templates were used to create this page.
All available instore now.

So I hope you get some time join us for this months challenge. Entry closes October 30th.

Happy Scrapping

With a few pieces of chipboard and some 'Darkroom door' stamps my page was done.

I hope your weekend is going great, we had a great crop day yesterday, thanks to the girls that travel to share this day.

7 Dots Studio 'Cotton Candy'

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you all had a great (long) weekend here in Victoria and you had a chance to get some crafting time in.
I am back to share a couple more projects that I have created with the fantastic range from 7 Dots Studio, 'Cotton Candy'.

For the texture on this page I have used a Kaisercraft mini template and 'Finnabair Rust Effect Paste' which comes in 3 colours. I have also coloured some WOW chipboard with some Lindy Stamp Gang mist. Adding a tag and a sticker from the range just finished off my page.

For this page I added another mix of Finnabair Rust Effect Paste to my background, using some more tags and cardboard to create a layer behind my photo. I love these sticker quotes that come in the pack. I have added some Kaisercraft stamp images and it was done.

I hope you get a chance to join in our challenge this month, you could be in the running for a great prize. Entries close March 30th so you still have a few weeks to go.

A reminder that deposits for our Autumn Retreat are due if you would like to join in this fantastic fun weekend send me a message and I can give you all the details.

This Saturday is also our ALL DAY CROP, come and join the girls for lots of laughs and some scrapping . Send me a message if you are coming and I can save your seat at the table.

More than a Book...

Goodmorning Everyone!

Who can believe that it is only 4 sleeps until Christmas??
I hope that you are ready with all of your presents bought and wrapped!
Me...I'm not so organised but now that school holidays have begun I can finish my shopping and sort the house out ready for Christmas.

Have you entered the Scrapbookit December Challenge??
There are some gorgeous layouts already entered - check them out here on this blog to the right or by heading to the Scrapbookit Gallery.

I have created another layout to share with you today using the gorgeous 7 Dots Studio - Writers Block Collection. Just recently I participated in one of those Facebook book giving posts. I was asked to participate by sharing the post and sending my favourite book to one participant. Then, hopefully, I would receive books in return...and that I did. I think I have received 6 books at this stage.
I decided that these papers were perfect to share this event, here is my layout.

As I have said, I used the gorgeous 7 Dots Studio - Writers Block Paper Collection. This collection is so perfect and can be used for so many different purposes. It has die cut elements, sticker elements and word elements that can all be used to enhance your layout. As you can see I have used a lot of these on my layout.

There is also a sheet of die cut tags in the collection. I have featured a few of these on my layout, one which I have used to write my journalling on. I have used a Scrap FX 'Feather Drawing' chipboard embellishment and some other little stickers and die cuts to embellish around my layout.

When trying to choose what type of photo to use I liked both black and white and colour so I decided to use both. I then used some Colour Blast Colour Paste - Fire Engine with a Kaisercraft Quarters Template to add a touch of red to match that on the book cover.

Also, in the background, to pull everything in together, I have stamped using Archival Ink - Potting Soil and a couple of stamps from the Scrapbookit store as well as a Kaisercraft Script Stamp.

Finally, I have used an older Kaisercraft Collection, "Peachy Keen," sticker pack to create my title. Love it when some of the older stuff works in with the newer collections!

Well, I hope that you have enjoyed checking out my post today.
Make sure you get in and enter this month's challenge...you have until the 30th!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas ~ I hope you all have a lovely time together with your family and friends. Thank you also for popping into our little blog several times each month and supporting Jo and Scrapbookit this year. We love sharing our creations with you and look forward to a new year filled with lots of new challenges, projects and creations.

I'll be back on the first day of the New Year to share the new challenge with you...looking forward to sharing with you. Here's a sneak peak...

Until then,
Merry Christmas!

Family

Morning Everyone,

Who can believe that we are halfway through December?
Only 9 sleeps until Christmas!!!

This month our challenge here at Scrapbookit has been lots of fun. I love these recipe type challenges because there is not a lot of fiddling around with what embellishments that you have to use.

If you haven't had a go this month at the challenge the requirements are to include the following on your layout:

5 squares
4 buttons
3 flowers
2 arrows
1 circle

You have until December 30 to get your entry in!

Now for my layout....
I have been lucky enough to use 7 Dots Studio - Writers Block - this month. Such an easy paper collection to use.

Here is what I came up with for the challenge...

I have used, as I said, the 7 Dots Studio - Writers Block paper collection. I have used black wire to create my 1 circle, my 2 arrows have come from the awesome Elements sheet that comes with the collection. My 3 flowers are a variety of flowers from Scrapbookit, including Bella. I have used 4 little black buttons for the button component of this layout, including one shaped like a flower.
My 5 squares are a little bit tricky to see, they are in the top left hand corner. They are also from the Elements sheet and word sticker sheet.

I have added a few other bits and pieces as well including a WOW Chipboard, small chicken wire flourish. I have embossed this and then wiped some Liquid Metals over it. I have also stamped with some Liquid Metals - Metallic Copper...I just LOVE this stuff. It gives a gorgeous shimmer to your projects. I have spread some on the brown flowers and also around the squares. It is very pretty!!
The gorgeous little 'Family' chipboard word has been covered with the Liquid Metals. Then I used a black Gelato to add some depth to the word.

Here is a close up...

I hope that you are all organised, or nearly organised for Christmas. I will be back later in the month to share another project using this gorgeous range...let's hope that by then I am a little more Christmas organised :D

Until then, enjoy the festive season!

My Best Friend

Morning Everyone,

Well what do you think of the Design Team Girls Creations?? Great aren't they!! Brenda has given us a really broad challenge this month which is great, so today it is my turn to show you my take on the 'Friends' challenge for june.

I have used the new 7 Dots Studio ranges of papers 'Nature Walk'

I have fussy cut (yes me) the tree from the 12x12 'Tree' Template from WOW which I sprayed with Dylusions 'Slate Grey'. I have used the new Frames from Scrap FX around my photo, and added the 'Prima' embelishments as the inspiration for my journaling which I have used the 'Kaisercraft' mini letters. My title is from 'Heidi Swapp' letters which I also sprayed. I also added some hearts with some Gel Medium and the Scrap FX Template.

In my second layout I have also used 7 Dots Studio papers 'Messy Head'.

I have used lots of the 'Heidi Swapp' Mini stencils, a mixture of flowers, some WOW wood veneers, washi tape, and the 'Darkroom Door' stamp for my Title/ Journaling.

I hope you get a chance to play along with our challenge, remember to send through a photo of your work to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au before June 30th.

Just a reminder if you are interested or know somebody who is interested in attending our retreat in October please call me on 0407058604 for all the details and payment options.

Have a great week
