April Post #3

Hi Everyone,

Mel here to share with you the last of my projects for this month using some of the gorgeous products from Scrapbookit.

First of all though I need to remind you to ....
Make sure you get your entry in for this month's challenge - you still have 7 days to smash a project out and enter it in the challenge for your chance to be our next Guest Design Team Member!!!

The first project I am here to share with you is of 3 cards I have made using the left over scraps from the Simple Stories collection 'You Are Here' which I have been using this month.
They are nothing overly special but are quick and easy to make.

I need to get better at this but I always talk about finishing off a collection by making cards with the scraps rather than collecting the scraps in a folder for a later time! One day!

My second project is definitely more my style at the moment...texture and mess!
I have created this project to highlight the gorgeous colour of the Tangareen Dream Colour Paste by Colour Blast.
I am not normally an orange sort of person but I love this!

This is one of my pages for my Kaiser Journal that I am working on this year.
I have used lots of different products to create this journal page...
Darkroom Door - Background Stamp - French Script, Kaiser Clear Stamp - Chevron, Archival Black Ink, Kaisercraft Quarters Stencil, Colour Blast - Colour Paste - Tangareen Dream and Steel, Kaiser Mists - Orange, Red, White, Turquoise and Charcoal, Washi Tape, doily, Simple Stories - You Are Here collection, My Year My Story collection (the quote), gauze and my homemade watercolours.

Here are some close ups...

Well that is all I have to share with you tonight and for this month. I have had lots of fun creating - thanks Jo for providing great product.
If you want to receive some great product from Jo be sure to get your entry in for this months challenge.

Look forward to sharing my projects for May with you soon, but before then make sure you pop back and check out what Jo has been creating!

You Are Here 2

Hi Everyone,

It is Mel back again to share with you another project that I have completed for this months challenge.

Don't forget to get your entry in!
Tania has inspired us with a great sketch to use.

All you need to do now is...create a project (layout, canvas, cards) using the sketch and incorporate your favourite place into the project.

Here is my layout...

and a few close ups...

Can you believe that I have used exactly the same paper collection as my last post?
Simple Stories - You Are Here is the collection.
I just love collections that give you the opportunity to create a variety of different layouts.

For this layout I have also used some white gesso to dull the brightness of the background. I also faintly sprayed the background using the Kaiser Mist - Charcoal.

I have created a feature using the Deep Water Colour Blast Paste and have also added some Prima Mica Flakes - Frosted for a touch of texture.

I have used some rolled twine, black wire and Dusty Attic - Fish Net for my embellishments.
I have used the Cocoa Vanilla Free Spirit alphabet stickers for my title.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge.
Don't forget to get that entry in.

You Are Here!

Well aren't the months just going so quickly?
It is April, already and I am here today to share my first project for the month.

Tania has set our challenge this month.
To create a project...layout, canvas, card - your choice...using the PageMaps sketch, below. The second criteria for the challenge is that your project has to be about your favourite place.
Thanks Tania for a great challenge...I love it!

Here is the sketch...

Here is what I have come up with this month using some of the Simple Stories collection 'You Are Here!'

As you can see I have changed the orientation of my photo compared to the sketch but have tried to keep the other features the same. That is the thing with sketches they are always a good starting point for your projects.

This project is about one of our favourite places, Thailand. We have been there a few times but our experience with these two gorgeous boys, Arnut and Note, would have to be one of our favourites. Living with our Thai friends definitely gave us a look into life in a village in Thailand. It helped us to appreciate that the simple things in life actually do make us the happiest.

As I said before, I was very lucky to receive this gorgeous kit from Jo @Scrapbookit. I have the fun Simple Stories 'You Are Here!' collection not to mention that gorgeous Colour Blast Colour Paste Tangareen Dream that I have used behind my tags. I also love the washi tape that I have used to create my tags.

The 2Crafty chipboard title fits perfectly with the layout and the theme of my layout that true happiness is this.

Have you got your entry in for this challenge? Make sure you do for your chance to be our GDT member for June. Then you too could work with some gorgeous product and see your name and work in lights here on the Scrapbookit Blog.
To enter your project link it up to the blog using the 'Add Your Link' button in the side bar or email it to Jo so that she can add it to our gallery.

I will be back later in the month to share with you another couple of projects using this collection.
Until then keep scrapping!

April - Sea Breeze

Morning Everyone,

I'm here to share my take on Tania's great challenge for April and to announce the winner of our March Challenge.

Firstly congratulations goes to  Kerry Pace for her layout , thanks Kerry I will be in touch.

Now my layout I have done using the new April release from Kaisercraft 'Sea Breeze'. I am so in love with Teal at the moment so I had fun playing with this range. I tipped the sketch on it's side to suit my photo of my house, I have added some new chipboard from WOW which I have coloured with 'Colour Blast Embossing powder' Envy. I have also used the Colour Blast Paste Envy to add some texture. I have used the sticker strips and the word from the collectables.

Don't forget you can add your entry in the challenge in the side bar or you can email me and I will put it up in the Gallery. The challenge finishes on April 30th, so come on and join in the fun to be in the chance to be our GDT member for June.

Now here are a couple of snippets of a class I will be running at our next Crop Day on April 16th using this range. If you are interested in joining us please send me a message and I will give you further details.

I look forward to seeing how the team has inspired you to get creating,
mell will be back soon to share her challenge projects.

Until then
Happy Scrapping

Jo.

April Challenge with Guest Designer Tania

Hi there and good morning to you all!!

I'm really excited to be guest designer with Scrapbookit this month. I have been scrapbooking/crafting for almost ten years, just after my beautiful daughter was born and have been addicted ever since.  I currently live in Adelaide, Australia, with my partner of 14 years and our almost 10 year old daughter. I am totally addicted to all things craft and love to create anything from layouts to cards though my absolute favourite is for anything Off The Page.

I love to try new techniques and though I don't have any one specific style I would have to say the majority of my work is "feminine" and I love to incorporate mixed media into my work (love getting my hands messy) along with chipboard, blooms and plenty of bling!

I am thrilled to share with you the April Challenge for Scrapbookit along with my take,  hope you like it and can play along :)

SO here is my challenge for you, I would love to see you create a layout, card or even canvas using this awesome Page Maps sketch as inspiration and the Criteria is your project is to be about a favourite place!!

"Good Times"

I chose a photo of my daughter from one of our recent visits to the Werribee Zoo, we just love to visit there and go at least twice a year.....

I was lucky enough to get a gorgeous kit sent to me by Jo with Kaiser's new Cottage Rose along with some other beautiful products to use for my creations for the month!!

Well that's all from me, I do hope you can play along, would love to see your take on the challenge!!  I will be back later in the month to share a couple of other projects I made using my gorgeous kit.

Until next time, happy scrapping,

Tania xx
