August Challenge!

Hello and Welcome to our August Challenge. I have been luck enough to set this challenge for you all! I have had a lot of fun working on it and I hope that you all do as well..
So the challenge for you all this month is to use 3 things from the Tic Tac Toe provided, you do not have to have three in a row just any three that you choose, the next criteria is to use one of the quotes on the picture below, this quote can appear anywhere on the page big or small just as long as its on there is fine.

I have once again managed to create an extremely BUSY layout, I have used A LOT of different products including mixed media, paper, chipboard, clear stickers etc, etc...
From the Quotes I have chosen to use the words Live, Love and Laughter, this goes well with my layout of my two children having fun playing with the hose on a hot spring day!

This is my Layout.
I have started by using one of the pieces of paper from the 12x12 Photo Play Paper, Seeds of Kindness paper pack that I was given to with, I then added some white Gesso to the middle part of my layout and the started working on my background which was done using numerous different Kaisercraft Stencils and some Colour Blast Colour Paste in the colours Royalty, Rose Petal, Bling and Apple of my Eye.
I have also added some stamping to the background using a variety of different stamps and inks including some Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Cracked Pistachio. I have added some of the Kaisercraft clear butterfly stickers to the background as well as some of the Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder in the Silver Dream.
I then cut out various different papers from the paper pack and layered them, I fussy cut quite a lot of the flowers out of one of the patterned papers and added my my Live, Love & Laughter heading which was from a Kaisercraft clear sticker pack.
I have then added the Wow chipboard birdcage, which I painted in some white Gesso then I added some Ranger Distress Oxide in cracked Pistachio then applied a layer of Glossy Accents.

I finished off my Layout by adding some of the stickers from the sticker sheet and a slight splattering of some Tim Holtz distress spray stain in Tarnished Brass.
I had so much FUN with this layout using all of these beautiful products which are available from @www.scrapbookit.com.au, if there is anything you need but cannot find on Jo's website she will be more than happy to help you out with any queries!
Have you payed your deposit yet for our upcoming retreat?? Its going to be such a great weekend! I look forward to seeing some new and old faces...
I hope you have enjoyed my layout and challenge for this month and I will be back a little later in the month with another layout using this amazing paper range!!
Until then Happy Scrapping

Wishes

Good Morning,

As the sun tries to come out this morning after some very wet days for the first week of our school holidays, I'm here to share my take on this month's challenge that Mel has set for us.

This month the DT are all using the same paper range Prima 'Sweet Peppermint' from the 12x12 paper pad.
Although we are all doing the same challenge it's wonderful to see the different way we interperet it.
I have had this photo of my grandaughters for a couple of years and thought this was the perfect range to scrap them.

So I have followed the sketch (well I hope you can see that :) ) and of course it's christmas themed. For my letter C elements I have used chipboard for my title from WOW and hinges and I also have used a new product to the store from Creative Expessions, 'Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder' Ancient Copper. This is a dry Mica powder that I have added  to area's that I have sprayed with water. It gives a great shimmer but also a marble effect.

I have used the Prima art alchemy acrylic paint 'Royal Red' to create my circle and paint all my chipboard, I have also added lots of the Metallic Gilding wax 'Vintage Berry to my page.

I hope you get inspired to get some of those christmas photos scrapped this month, our challenge ends on July 30th and you could receive a great prize pack just for sharing your passion.
You can email your entry to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au, add it to our Inlinkz tab on the side bar or you can even add it to our Facebook page.

For those that are on holidays enjoy, until next time
Happy Scrapping

Sweetness!

Good Morning!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and fitting in some scrapbooking time.

I'm back with another layout using the Photo Play Little girl 6x6 paper pad.

This photo is of myself and my daughter Rahni when she was only 1 week old.

I have used all of the different pages in the 6x6 paper pad and cut them into cute little squares, which I have then filled the page with. Once I have them all stuck down I have randomly added some Colour Blast Paste in Blush through a Kaisercraft heart stencil. I have also punched a few heart shapes with my little fiskars heart punch.

Along the right hand side of my photo I have fussy cut some of the flowers and butterfly's out of the cocoa vanilla paper range, I found these matched nicely and just added a bit more colour to my page.
The little wooden hearts I have embossed with some Colour Blast embossing powder in the Envy and the Blush I have also used the Envy Colour Blast embossing powder on the Sweetness Chipboard.

To finish off my Layout I have gone around the edges with some of the Metallic Gilding Wax in Frosted Aqua.
I hope you have enjoyed my second layout for the month and I look forward to seeing what you all come up with for this month's challenge.

Happy Scrapping

Family - Prima

Good Morning,

I'm back on this chilly winters morning to share another page I created using my 6x6 Prima 'Love Clippings' paper pad. This time I have used the 'B' sides of the papers which have brown vintage tones. These worked really well with the photo of our 3 children.

I have stayed with the Geometric theme of this month and have used the Kaisercraft 6x6 stencil which I used a mix of Colour Blast pastes Sienna and Leather. I love how these pastes can combine.
My title is a WOW chipboard mini word and I have used a quote cutout from the paper pad.

Although it is hard to show in the photo of my LO I have added some of the new Prima 'art alchemy' Opal Magic Wax and Antique Brilliance Wax. I have added it to the edges of my triangles and it gives a great aged finish with shimmer. The small black triangles are 3L photo corners.

Today I would also like to share my Retreat Class project, using a background of Black Gesso, and the Sienna ColourBlast Paste. I have sprayed my background with the Bling 'Shimmer spray, coloured some 2Crafty chipboard with the new Lindy Stamp Gang's shaker powder. My die cut is from NeatNcrafty. Added some Kaisercraft Glitter paperand edged my page with some guilding wax to finish it off. Thetitle is a Kaisercraft die cut. All these products are available instore so if you are interested send me a message and I can help you out.

Don't forget our June challenge runs until the 30th, would love to see how you interpret our Geometric, Chipboard and 6x6 criteria.

Imagine 7Dots studio

Good Morning everyone,
Happy Sunday .

I just dropped by to share my last layout for the month with the great range 'Cotton Candy' from 7 Dots studio.

Even though it's sort of a grungy range I still love that you can do girls pages.

With a few pieces of chipboard and some 'Darkroom door' stamps my page was done.

I hope your weekend is going great, we had a great crop day yesterday, thanks to the girls that travel to share this day.

Mel will be back tomorrow to share some more awesome scrapping for the month, you still have time to get your entries in for the challenge.

Happy Scrappying

Family

Morning Everyone,

Who can believe that we are halfway through December?
Only 9 sleeps until Christmas!!!

This month our challenge here at Scrapbookit has been lots of fun. I love these recipe type challenges because there is not a lot of fiddling around with what embellishments that you have to use.

If you haven't had a go this month at the challenge the requirements are to include the following on your layout:

5 squares
4 buttons
3 flowers
2 arrows
1 circle

You have until December 30 to get your entry in!

Now for my layout....
I have been lucky enough to use 7 Dots Studio - Writers Block - this month. Such an easy paper collection to use.

Here is what I came up with for the challenge...

I have used, as I said, the 7 Dots Studio - Writers Block paper collection. I have used black wire to create my 1 circle, my 2 arrows have come from the awesome Elements sheet that comes with the collection. My 3 flowers are a variety of flowers from Scrapbookit, including Bella. I have used 4 little black buttons for the button component of this layout, including one shaped like a flower.
My 5 squares are a little bit tricky to see, they are in the top left hand corner. They are also from the Elements sheet and word sticker sheet.

I have added a few other bits and pieces as well including a WOW Chipboard, small chicken wire flourish. I have embossed this and then wiped some Liquid Metals over it. I have also stamped with some Liquid Metals - Metallic Copper...I just LOVE this stuff. It gives a gorgeous shimmer to your projects. I have spread some on the brown flowers and also around the squares. It is very pretty!!
The gorgeous little 'Family' chipboard word has been covered with the Liquid Metals. Then I used a black Gelato to add some depth to the word.

Here is a close up...

I hope that you are all organised, or nearly organised for Christmas. I will be back later in the month to share another project using this gorgeous range...let's hope that by then I am a little more Christmas organised :D

Until then, enjoy the festive season!

OOh La La - Kaisercraft

Morning everyone,

Jo here to share my take on this month's challenge by Jane. Things have been crazy here as I've sent my little girl on an experience of a life time to Germany for three months and we patiently await the arrival of my new grandchild (okay so not patiently). Can't wait for all those gorgeous new baby photo's to play with.

Today I'm sharing my layout for the challenge using Kaisercraft's Ooh La La range which is very feminine with lots of flowers, and a beautiful orange and teal colour combination.

Yes, more Deb photo's but just love these candid shots of Brittany and some of her friends. I couldn't choose so I had to add 5 pics (whoops). Firstly I added Colour Blast 'Snow white' through the kaiser stencil to create all my spots in the background and then washed over with the 'watermelon' Mica powder to create the colour.

My Title is a WOW chipboard piece that I have embossed with Colour Blast embossing powder, firstly with Tangerine dream and then Snow white. Love the ombre affect it gave me. The diecut is from Kaisercraft and the embellishments are from the collectables pack from the range.

Here is the sketch we are working from this month:

Don't forget entries are due on November 30th so get them in to be in the running for a great prize.

Have a fantastic week, Mel will be back next to share her challenge page.

Until then,
Happy Scrapping
Jo.

Free to Be You at Scrapbookit

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Well the Olympics have started and I am excited to start watching the Aussie athletes and the athletes from countries around the world sharing their very best with us all. Hopefully seeing a few gold medals too!

It is very appropriate that this month at Scrapbookit our challenge is 'Free to be You!'
An opportunity for you to share your very best with us. Your only rule is to make sure that you enter your challenge piece by August 30th by emailing Jo at joanne@scrapbookit.com.au or load your entries via Inlinkz which can be found in the sidebar.

Here is the first project that I have come up with...

To create this reverse canvas I have used one of Kaisercraft's new paper collections Barber Shoppe. It is not dissimilar to a few ranges that they have done previously...a perfect choice to celebrate the men in your life...and how timely with next month being Father's Day.

I started off with some paper napkins and Mod Podge to create some texture and to cover the staples in the canvas.
I then used gesso to cover the whole canvas.

I used some Kaisercraft Mist and some Dylusions spray to create my background colour.

I then used my brick wall template and some Colour Blast Colour Paste - Steel to create some features on the canvas. I sprinkled this colour paste with some Tim Holtz Distress Powder - Vintage Photo to tone down the shiny bricks.

I have then framed my photo with the gorgeous WOW Chipboard piece.

I have then clustered embellishments and images from the Barber Shoppe paper collection, sticker sheet and collectables around the canvas.

I just love how this all came together.
This could well and truly have you covered for a Father's Day gift! Any father would love it!

I have also made 3 cards to share with you...all different parts of this paper collection. I love paper collections that allow you to create different themed projects...makes buying the whole pack so worthwhile!

How cute are the little moustaches?

And then a card for our old car loving Dads...

And finally one for our Dads that love all things aircraft...

Well I hope you have found something that inspires you today to get all of your Father's Day gifts sorted...whatever you come up with make sure you enter it into this months Scrapbookit challenge!
Make sure that you check out the entries we have already received...they are gorgeous!

I'm off to keep watching the Olympics but before I go I thought I would share a quote from Facebook that Sizzix shared this morning...very much what I think...

Happy Sunday!

Things with wings.

Morning All,
I hope you are all drying out somewhat after the super wet week we have had here in the North East.

I'm here today to share a couple more project I have done this month with the products I have been playing with.

Firstly a sweet layout using some more Webster's pages range:

My Title is from 2Crafty chipboanrd and the dreamcatcher is from WOW chipboard, I have coloured them with some LindyStamp Gang Magicals just with a brush. So quick and easy. I have fussy cut the blossom flowers(yes I actually did some fussy cutting).

Layout #2

I am so happy how this page turned out as I have created my own background using the Art alchemy Acyrilic paints and the Indigo Blu stamp.  My title is a new Die from Kaisercraft and the top diecut is also a Kaisercraft Die. The shimmer from the paint is awesome but I can't capture it in the photo. We have 8 colours in stock now but I will be getting more in the next shipment for sure.

I hope you all have a great weekend and don't forget to enter our monthly challengeto be in the running for a GDT spot in July. Entries close May 30th.

Always hug the one's you love tight,

Happy Scrapping

Keep Calm and Smile On

Good morning Everyone,

Happy International Scrapbooking Day!
I'm here to share with you on this lovely Saturday morning!
I have heard that there is a significant weather front heading our way, please stay safe everyone.

This month Jo has set our challenge...'Things with wings"
Your project, whether it is a layout, card or OTP is to have some reference to things with wings.
Here is a little prompt that might give you some ideas...

My layout features the gorgeous Simple Stories collection, Vintage Bliss. It is such a sweet collection and could be used for so many projects from cards, to Project Life style pages, OTP projects and even for your journal.

Here is what I have come up with...

In my challenge kit I was also lucky enough to receive the gorgeous IndigoBlu - Flutterby stamp which solved the things with wings requirement for this project.
Whilst putting this layout together I decided that I didn't want the stamp to be too dominant so I actually used an older Kaisercraft Black Ink to do my stamping.
I love how it is a softer stamped image...really compliments the paper collection.

I have cut some of the butterflies from the paper collection and have used one of them as a stencil to create my cardstock butterfly. I have used Scrap Dots so that they pop a little off the page.

How gorgeous is that frame around the photo? I just love how it turned out.
It is a WOW Chipboard frame. I have sprayed it with KaiserMist - Winter Grey & a slight touch of Turquoise and have then used the gorgeous Colour Blast - Embossing Powder - Snow White.
OMG...I love the gorgeous shimmer and glitter BUT it was a messy process - who cares when it turns out like that I say...it is all part of the fun! (I apologise if it is hard to see in the photo)
I only used one layer of embossing powder as I wanted it to be a fine shimmer...you could always use several layers of embossing powder to give a more striking effect.

I must say that I am really loving Colour Blast products at the moment, they are amazing! If you haven't had a chance to give them a go make sure you grab some from Scrapbookit - you will love them!

Products used in my project...
Simple Stories - Vintage Bliss paper collection; Kaisercraft Black Ink; Kaisercard - Sea Breeze, White and Elephant Ears; KaiserMists - Turquoise and Winter Grey; Kaiser Paper Blooms - White; SP Washi Tape; IndigoBlu - Flutterby stamp; Colour Blast - Embossing Powder - Snow White; doily; WOW Chipboard Frame, Embossed Cardstock

Well that is all from me today. I hope that you have found something in my project to inspire your next project, which I am hoping will be your entry to our challenge.
Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Before I go, I want to wish all of the Mothers reading this post a very Happy Mother's Day! I hope you all have a wonderful day and are spoilt by those that love you.

xxMel

April Challenge with Guest Designer Tania

Hi there and good morning to you all!!

I'm really excited to be guest designer with Scrapbookit this month. I have been scrapbooking/crafting for almost ten years, just after my beautiful daughter was born and have been addicted ever since.  I currently live in Adelaide, Australia, with my partner of 14 years and our almost 10 year old daughter. I am totally addicted to all things craft and love to create anything from layouts to cards though my absolute favourite is for anything Off The Page.

I love to try new techniques and though I don't have any one specific style I would have to say the majority of my work is "feminine" and I love to incorporate mixed media into my work (love getting my hands messy) along with chipboard, blooms and plenty of bling!

I am thrilled to share with you the April Challenge for Scrapbookit along with my take,  hope you like it and can play along :)

SO here is my challenge for you, I would love to see you create a layout, card or even canvas using this awesome Page Maps sketch as inspiration and the Criteria is your project is to be about a favourite place!!

"Good Times"

I chose a photo of my daughter from one of our recent visits to the Werribee Zoo, we just love to visit there and go at least twice a year.....

I was lucky enough to get a gorgeous kit sent to me by Jo with Kaiser's new Cottage Rose along with some other beautiful products to use for my creations for the month!!

Well that's all from me, I do hope you can play along, would love to see your take on the challenge!!  I will be back later in the month to share a couple of other projects I made using my gorgeous kit.

Until next time, happy scrapping,

Tania xx
