It's December

Good Morning
and welcome to Scrapbookit for our December challenge.

Well are you getting into the Christmas spirit?? The DT girls have shared some great idea's and I'm here today to share my take on Jane's Christmas challenge. Gee when I went looking for Christmas photo's I found I didn't have to many so I am going to make sure this year I get the camera clicking because it really is a wonderful time of the year to make memories.

I found up these adorable photo's of ,My Rudolph',  this month I am using papers from the 6x6 paper pad from Couture creations 'Highland Christmas' by Sue Smyth. I have started with my white background, not that much of it is left showing.
Using a Kaisercraft stencil I have added lots of stars and baubles with the Nuvo mousse.  My tree was a lovely gift from one of my card class ladies and I have matted my photo's with some tissue paper. Some cute stamps and Heidi Swapp letters finished off the page just right.

I also created a really grungy Christmas layout that I wanted to share.

Starting with a white background I have used my Geli plates to create my background. Its a bit hard to share the true colours and textures but there is lots of reds, golds and greens. The stars are actually navy and the baubles are silver. I have used some Nuvo Glitter paste to add the saying ' The possibility of a miracle Believe'. Some Kaisercraft wooden embellishments and 2Crafty chipboard around my patterned paper.  Again my title is from the Heidi Swapp letters.

Here's hoping you are getting organised for the Big day and get a little time to join in our challenge, you could be in the running for a $30 voucher to top up your craft supplies.

Happy Scrapping

November challenge

Good morning and welcome to Scrapbookit.

Well can you believe we are into November and our year is nearly gone.Things have been slowly getting back to normal after our fantastic Spring retreat was a great success. Plenty of laughs were had at our Saturday night 'Hippie Night', I'm sure you have seen some photos of our antics.

This month it is my turn to set the challenge, so I thought since it is still spring I thought that it would be a great idea to create a project using these criteria.

  • Fun (Photos)
  • Flowers (As many as you like)
  • Five embellishments.
( Could be ink, paste chipboard, wooden, string, washi tape, buttons you get the idea).

This month the team are creating with papers from a 12 x 12 paper pad by Creative PL, each pad has 100 pages so great value.

For my challenge layout I have added some texture in the background using the wonderful 'Nuvo Mousse Paste'. I have used 2 different stencils, the Kaisercraft one has the bigger flowers in pink and the other is a Tim Holtz with tiny flowers in teal.

I have cut some fine flowers and my title with my Silhouette, for the centre of my flowers I have added some buttons, sequins, and some bling. I have added some chipboard and wooden embellishments that I have coloured with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine.

Of coarse the photo's are from our super fun 'Hippie' night at our spring retreat.

So come on and have some fun!! Entries can be added via Facebook, Email, or your personal blog by the 30th November.

The winner will receive a $30  voucher, remember you have to be in it to win so I look forward to seeing your FUN.

I would also like to wish a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Kerry ( the cool hippy with the pink glasses), I hope you have a wonderful day today.

Happy Scrapping

'Love'

Good Morning

Welcome to Scrapbookit and our Spring challenge set by Jane this month.
Quiet often our DT girls set their monthly challenge before they get the monthly kit that they work with, so when I looked at Jane's challenge I thought how are these criteria's going to work with the 49 and Market papers I had given out would ever work? As you have seen the girls have been outstanding in the projects they have created. I am so lucky to have them on my team.

So here is how I took on the challenge and created this layout.

I have used the 49 and Market 'Heirloom Botanicals' range and fussy cut the bottom border raising it up with foam tape. For my  mixed media element I have added the circles from a kaisercraft stencil and sprayed several Heidi Swapp sprays in the background. I also blended some Distress Oxide inks through another stencil to give the flower images.

To create my title I have cut the word using a We R Memory keepers Mini Alphabet punch board and then stamped over the letters with a DarkroomDoor Music stamp.

These beautiful lace butterflies are from Uniquely Creative and I have just coloured them with sprays. The stickers I have used are from the Amy Tangerine sticker book.

So let's see how you create with Jane's challenge, entries close on September 30th so still time to get your 'LOVE' on the page. You can send your entry via email to joannecaird@gmail.com, add it from your blog to our Inlinkz tab or just upload it to our Facebook page.

Have a fantastic weekend

Sweet Memory...

Hello!
Spring has finally arrived and we have had some beautiful sunny days to get us all excited about the warmer weather that is to come! Springtime in my opinion is the best season of the year.
I'm very much looking forward to some more sunshine and longer days.

I have been lucky enough this month to set the Scrapbookit September Challenge, I hope that you all enjoy what I have come up with. I have found a mood board which is pictured below that you can take inspiration off in any way that you would like, it could be that you use butterflies that you have chosen off the mood board or you use circles or flowers on your layout that have been inspired from the mood board or that you just do a layout using some of the colours provided on the mood board. The possibilities are endless and a whole lot of fun!
I have also added a few extra criteria these are to:
*Use the Mood board provided(pictured above).
*Use the word LOVE somewhere on your layout.
*Use a mixed media element.
*Use some fussy cutting.
Easy right?? This is what I have come up with. I have actually used my challenge criteria not just for a layout but also for a 90th Birthday card I made for my husband's Grandma.
I will start with the card first.
I began using a plain white square card, I embossed it using a Kaisercraft embossing folder, added some Ranger distress oxide on Barn door, spritzed it with water then used some paper towel to mop the excess water off. I love the effect this gives to the paper, I then used the Uniquely Creative script font die and added it to my background.
This month I have been lucky enough to use this beautiful 49 Market Cottage life paper collection, normally I would have a lot of trouble using this type of paper but I actually really enjoyed using it and I am very happy with the results on my card and layout!
I have fussy cut an image from the paper, added some Uniquely Creative flowers as well as some Kaisercraft pearls and a Kaisercraft clear sticker, then to finish my card I have added this beautiful lace butterfly. It is absolutely gorgeous and really goes with this paper range.

Next for my challenge layout!

As I have said above I have started my layout using a patterned piece of paper from the 49 market cottage life paper range, I added some stencilling with a Kaisercraft lace border stencil and some Ranger distress oxide in Barn door.

In following the challenge criteria I have used the word 'LOVE' several times on my layout, fussy cut A LOT of flowers, my mixed media element was the stencilling and the inspiration I have taken from the mood board was the butterfly's and the flowers.

Once again I have used the gorgeous lace  butterfly's from the Uniquely Creative range as well as some of their flowers! The wooden chippie I have used is from Scrap fx and is called celebration of hearts, I have used the same barn door distress oxide on it and added some Ranger Glossy Accents over the top as well. My photo's are backed using some of the patterned paper as well as the layers of paper underneath it. To finish my layout I have added a doodle border and a Kaisercraft clear sticker over the pile of flowers that I fussy cut out.

I hope that you have enjoyed my layout, all of the products used on this page are available from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au head on over to Jo's online shop and see what she has to offer!
I look forward to seeing what you all come up with!
Happy Scrapping

Kaisercraft - Misty Mountains

Good Morning,

I hope you are all having a relaxing Sunday morning? I'm off to have a wonderful day with some friends at a local winery, but first I wanted to share some more pages I have done using the Kaisercraft range Misty Mountains.

Using some beautiful papers (even though they are purple), some Darkroom Door stamps, Green Tara flowers and the embellishments from the collectables pack this page came together and I'm happy.

This page is very simple but I thought it worked well with the photo. I have added papers from the 6' paper pad which have lots of gold elements to them. I have used a kaisercraft stencil with Colourblast paste to create my background.  The title and elements are from the collectables pack in the range.

Don't forget to join in our monthly challenge (details in the sidebar) , we have had some lovely entries so far. You could be in the running for a $30 voucher from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au.

Enjoy your week ahead and get crafty

I Love Dance!

I Love Dance.
Hello! Today I have another dance photo layout to share with you all, I have really loved using this Simple Stories Dance paper. It is SO bright and colourful and right up my alley.

I have used a piece of black Kaisercraft Cardstock to begin, I then cut out some of the words from the patterned paper, I used two different pieces of the patterned paper to go behind my photo then added some Kaisercraft Rhinestones around the perimeter of my photo.
On my striped piece of paper I have added some stencilling with a Kaisercraft stencil and have used some Colour blast Colour paste in Bling on the bottom left and top right corners. I have added a little cluster of embellishment's in the bottom left corner, the ballet shoes I have coloured with some tim holtz distress paint in pickled raspberry then a coat of glossy accents over the top, my little purple feathery dress is from JenniB Collection.
Over on the other side I have cut out a filler card from the patterned paper and added the scrap fx chippy over the top which I have painted with the same Tim Holtz distress paint and added more glossy accents over the top. I love the shiny effect this gives to the chippy.

I have finished my layout with a doodly border using my posca paint pens in pink and yellow. I love the vibrancy of these paint pen's especially on the black cardstock.
Have you entered our challenge yet? There's some great prizes to win simply by entering a layout. All of the products I have used here are available to purchase from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au
head on over to Jo's website and have a look!
It wont be long and we will be counting down the days until our Autumn retreat! That's something I am looking forward to A LOT!
Until next time Happy Scrapping

Welcome to our last post for February.

I am here to share a couple of layouts I have done using the Kaisercraft 'Open Road',

The patterned papers in this range are wonderful for backgrounds, I have toned it down a bit with Colour Blast Artist Ink so that my stamped images would show a little better. I have coloured the ScrapFX chipboard piece with Inks as well.

Yes I even managed a double layout with some photo's from our trip to Craigs Hut on our honeymoon. I have added lots of stickers stamps and used the stencil from this great Aussie range. I  used the Colour Blast Artist Ink through the stencil and highlighted the stamp quote also.

Well we have a couple of days for you to still join in our monthly competition, so why not give it a go. You could win a $30 voucher from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au .

Things are busy in the store at the moment as we gear up for our May Retreat but the girls will be back next week with another fantastic challenge. Look forward to seeing what you all create. Have a wonderful week.

Who said Winter had to be drab!!

Hello!
I'm back with another layout to share with you all.
I had a lot of fun with this layout, using a photo of my youngest son Sebby and I. Once again I have used the 7 dots studio - Northern Lights Paper Collection.

I started my Layout with a patterned piece of paper then added some Gesso to the background, I then mixed some of the Colour Blast - Colour Artist Ink in Berry with some gesso and painted it around the page, then I used a Kaisercraft stencil and added some stencilling over the top with my Dylusions paint in the vibrant turquoise, some of these I highlighted with my black sharpie pen just to help make them standout a bit. Next I added a whole lot of different patterned paper which I tore some of the edges and added some doodling to as well.

I added some splatters of spray with the Colour Blast - Colour Spray in Road Base and also some of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray in Tibetan Poppy Teal! This spray has the most gorgeous shine to it, it's Amazing!
I then added my pictures which I had backed with some black Kaisercraft cardstock and then added my title with some script font and some black lettering from my stash!

Added some of the tags and stickers from the paper pack, and cut out this gorgeous Uniquely Creative Light Bulb Metal Die on the right hand side of my page with my sizzix and some sparkly turquoise paper and my layout is complete!
Have you entered our Challenge for this month yet? Jo is very generously donating a store gift voucher to the lucky winner! How good is that?!?!
Saturday we had our monthly crop day and had such a lovely day, Jo runs these crop days from her beautiful home and they are available for anyone to come and scrap for the day and have a little shop whilst they are at it!
Everything I have used on my Layout today is available to purchase from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au head on over and have a look!

Be Kind Always..

Hello and welcome!
I have a cracker of a Layout to show you today.
I used A LOT of products and techniques in this layout and I am really happy with the way it has turned out! Here's my Layout.

I have started with a sheet of Kaisercraft White Cardstock, applied a layer of white Gesso and then had some fun with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks which I randomly applied to my paper using the packaging technique. I then used some black Ranger Ink and went a little CRAZY stamping all over the top of my distress ink with several different flower stamps.

I also added a few clear stickers out of my stash and some Kaisercraft clear Butterfly stickers.
I then added some Colour Blast Colour Paste in Rose Petal through a Kaisercraft Butterfly stencil.
Have you tried the Colour Blast Paste's??? I think they are one of my most Favourite products ever!! Jo @ www.scrapbookit.com.au has all of the different colours in stock so hop onto her online shop and have a look. I can highly recommend them.

Next I layered my paper sheets from the Photo Play paper seeds of kindness range and I made some little handmade embellishments out of the paper as well which I have stuck down in a few different clusters on the page. The little pink and purple fence under the photo is actually a Couture Creations Intricutz die which I cut out using the purple paper then attached the pink paper to the back just to make it stand out a bit more and give it a different effect!
I have randomly added a few clusters of purple cotton, some little gold hearts that I punched out and added the grey Flair which is from an old Cocoa Vanilla Range.

On the top left  corner I have added a little Journaling pocket with some hidden journaling inside which I think adds a nice little effect.

I finished my page off using a roller date stamp and then some doodling around the border.
Have you thought about coming to our Spring Retreat in Bright?? Its such a Fantastic weekend away and is sure to be so much Fun...
I look forward to seeing you all there!
I hope that you have enjoyed my very BUSY layout and I look forward to seeing everyone's challenge entries for the month.

Happy Scrapping Jane xx

August Challenge!

Hello and Welcome to our August Challenge. I have been luck enough to set this challenge for you all! I have had a lot of fun working on it and I hope that you all do as well..
So the challenge for you all this month is to use 3 things from the Tic Tac Toe provided, you do not have to have three in a row just any three that you choose, the next criteria is to use one of the quotes on the picture below, this quote can appear anywhere on the page big or small just as long as its on there is fine.

I have once again managed to create an extremely BUSY layout, I have used A LOT of different products including mixed media, paper, chipboard, clear stickers etc, etc...
From the Quotes I have chosen to use the words Live, Love and Laughter, this goes well with my layout of my two children having fun playing with the hose on a hot spring day!

This is my Layout.
I have started by using one of the pieces of paper from the 12x12 Photo Play Paper, Seeds of Kindness paper pack that I was given to with, I then added some white Gesso to the middle part of my layout and the started working on my background which was done using numerous different Kaisercraft Stencils and some Colour Blast Colour Paste in the colours Royalty, Rose Petal, Bling and Apple of my Eye.
I have also added some stamping to the background using a variety of different stamps and inks including some Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Cracked Pistachio. I have added some of the Kaisercraft clear butterfly stickers to the background as well as some of the Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder in the Silver Dream.
I then cut out various different papers from the paper pack and layered them, I fussy cut quite a lot of the flowers out of one of the patterned papers and added my my Live, Love & Laughter heading which was from a Kaisercraft clear sticker pack.
I have then added the Wow chipboard birdcage, which I painted in some white Gesso then I added some Ranger Distress Oxide in cracked Pistachio then applied a layer of Glossy Accents.

I finished off my Layout by adding some of the stickers from the sticker sheet and a slight splattering of some Tim Holtz distress spray stain in Tarnished Brass.
I had so much FUN with this layout using all of these beautiful products which are available from @www.scrapbookit.com.au, if there is anything you need but cannot find on Jo's website she will be more than happy to help you out with any queries!
Have you payed your deposit yet for our upcoming retreat?? Its going to be such a great weekend! I look forward to seeing some new and old faces...
I hope you have enjoyed my layout and challenge for this month and I will be back a little later in the month with another layout using this amazing paper range!!
Until then Happy Scrapping

I want...

Good Morning,

Can you hear that? Yes the silence of no children as they are back at school and my time is mine again for a few hours a day.

This is the last post for the month and I'm sharing another page from our 'Sweet Peppermint' Prima range that the team have been creating with this month.

Even though it is Traditionally a christmas range the B sides of the papers can be used with any theme.

As you can see I got a little messy with my background on vanilla cardstock, using the artalchemy acrylic paint 'royal red' then using a kaisercraft mini stencil I layered with Colourblaste paste 'Apple of my eye'. Adding some chevrons from a 'Darkroom Door' stamp. The diecut's are from Kaisercraft and my title is from ScrapFX. The stickers are from the Prima paper pad.
So have some fun and get messy.

How are you going with this months challenge?? It's a great opportunity to get some of those christmas photo's scrapped, remember you have until the 30th to upload your entry.

Just a quick reminder that we are holding our 'Spring Retreat' from sept 29 - oct 1st 2017, so if you would love a weekend break away with like minded crafters a deposit of $75 is due now to save your seat.  All inquiries call Jo on 0407058604.

Jane is back on the 1st August with another fantastic challenge so make sure you keep visiting to join in.

Happy Scrapping,

Family - Prima

Good Morning,

I'm back on this chilly winters morning to share another page I created using my 6x6 Prima 'Love Clippings' paper pad. This time I have used the 'B' sides of the papers which have brown vintage tones. These worked really well with the photo of our 3 children.

I have stayed with the Geometric theme of this month and have used the Kaisercraft 6x6 stencil which I used a mix of Colour Blast pastes Sienna and Leather. I love how these pastes can combine.
My title is a WOW chipboard mini word and I have used a quote cutout from the paper pad.

Although it is hard to show in the photo of my LO I have added some of the new Prima 'art alchemy' Opal Magic Wax and Antique Brilliance Wax. I have added it to the edges of my triangles and it gives a great aged finish with shimmer. The small black triangles are 3L photo corners.

Today I would also like to share my Retreat Class project, using a background of Black Gesso, and the Sienna ColourBlast Paste. I have sprayed my background with the Bling 'Shimmer spray, coloured some 2Crafty chipboard with the new Lindy Stamp Gang's shaker powder. My die cut is from NeatNcrafty. Added some Kaisercraft Glitter paperand edged my page with some guilding wax to finish it off. Thetitle is a Kaisercraft die cut. All these products are available instore so if you are interested send me a message and I can help you out.

Don't forget our June challenge runs until the 30th, would love to see how you interpret our Geometric, Chipboard and 6x6 criteria.

CROP DAY is this Saturday 17th, why not join us for a great day of crafting?

I LOVE TO CREATE...

I Love To CREATE...
Hello and  Welcome to our May Challenge here at www.scrapbookit.com.au

This month it was my turn to set the Challenge and I got to thinking about how often we scrap pages of our Loved ones but never of ourselves!

SO this month I have made it all about Ourselves as Scrapbookers/Memory Keepers.!

One of the criteria for this month's challenge is to scrap a photo of YOURSELF or if not of yourself to at least have yourself in the photo with a loved one. I have also provided a mood board for you all to gain some inspiration off and a list of prompts, I would like one of the prompts off the list on your layout. It does not have to be the main title. The last requirement is to add a touch of Mixed Media of any form onto the page.

This is the Mood Board and Prompts!
The other Elements are:
*A Photo that has yourself in it
*A Mixed Media Element
*Inspiration off the Mood Board
*One of the Prompts

I have had A LOT of FUN with this challenge and I really do hope you all do as well.
As usual my Layout is very Busy!! Here it is..

This month I have worked with the Amazing Photo-Play Rhapsody paper range. This paper suits me so well and I have had so much fun with it!!

I have layered a lot of the pattern papers for my background, I have then worked on my Mixed Media element, to do this I have cut a strip of plain coloured paper out, I have then used some white Gesso and I have then sprinkled some of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Shaker in Bavarian Blue over the top and I then spritzed it with some water to get the effect I was after, once this was dried off I used one of the new Kaisercraft Mini Design Templates in Splatter with some Colour Blast Colour Paste in Bling, I also used this to coat over the top of the Scrap FX chipboard feather, this has given it a really nice shiny effect.

The I LOVE TO CREATE words are a Kaisercraft Die that I have used in Fabi! I don't use this machine or my dies any where near enough so I am making an effort to try and use this a bit more. I absolutely LOVE these letters... Jo has them at www.scrapbookit.com.au as well as a heap of more dies and stencils. Pop on over and have a look!

I have used over half the sticker sheet in this layout, I could not decide when to stop there was just SO many Beautiful Stickers to chose from to add to my layout.

The inspiration I have taken from the Mood Board is the Feathers, Arrows, Circles, Triangles and some of the colours.

The Prompt that I chose to use was "I Love" and I added To Create on the end.

I hope that you have enjoyed my layout and challenge for the month of May! Jo and Mel will be back soon with their takes on my challenge and I cannot wait to see what they come up with!

Not to long to go now until our Annual www.scrapbookit.com.au Retreat!! It is going to be SO much FUN, have you booked your spot yet?? It's not to late. It would be So great to see you all working on your May Challenge Layouts at the retreat. Jo will have the entire www.scrapbookit.com.au shop there, so we can all shop to our heart's content.

Happy Scrapping
