So Special!

Welcome to Scrapbookit!

I'm here today with you to share my next project for this month.

Have you seen the challenge that I have set this month???

It is such a fun challenge and I would really love it if you could play along.

All you need to do is:
1. Use the Page Maps sketch (see below)

Include each of the following Grab 5 requirements in your project.
1. A mixed media product
2. Stickers
3. Embellishments - flowers, stars, hearts...
4. Fibre - cotton/thread/ribbon/twine...
5. A household item to create texture - bubble wrap, dishwashing sponge, napkins.

You can enter your project on our Facebook page, via the Inlinkz link here on the blog or email to Jo at joannecaird@gmail.com
Entries close July 30!

Here is another project from me this month using the gorgeous Welcome to Spring by Simple Stories paper collection!
A very special layout of my gorgeous Aunty (who is no longer with us) meeting my baby boy!
It has taken some time to find the right paper collection to use however I think this collection is just perfect!

Whilst I haven't followed the sketch I have used some of the Grab 5 requirements.

1. A mixed media product ✅
2. Stickers ✅
3. Embellishments - flowers, stars, hearts... ✅
4. Fibre - cotton/thread/ribbon/twine...
5. A household item to create texture - bubble wrap, dishwashing sponge, napkins.

I started by using some Finnabair Art Alchemy Metallic Paint in Light Patina and Vintage Rose in the background randomly to add some colour to the patterned paper. I then added some of the patterned papers from the Simple Stories collection, Welcome to Spring.

I have created a little embellishment feature using stickers from the Welcome to Spring collection as well as a gorgeous flower, I love how this cluster embellishment has come together.

I have used some stickers from the collection and have also used the title "So Special" using some of Cocoa Vanilla's previous alpha stickers from the collection 'Free Spirit.'

Again on this layout, I have used a lot of little stickers around my layout. That is the best thing about receiving collection packs, the stickers are generally amazing!!

I really love how this layout came together and ended up!!

I have also created a quick little card using this collection...

Well, I hope there is something here that inspires you to get crafty today!

Look forward to seeing what you create and share/enter with us this month.

Happy Scrapping!

Family

Morning Everyone,

Who can believe that we are halfway through December?
Only 9 sleeps until Christmas!!!

This month our challenge here at Scrapbookit has been lots of fun. I love these recipe type challenges because there is not a lot of fiddling around with what embellishments that you have to use.

If you haven't had a go this month at the challenge the requirements are to include the following on your layout:

5 squares
4 buttons
3 flowers
2 arrows
1 circle

You have until December 30 to get your entry in!

Now for my layout....
I have been lucky enough to use 7 Dots Studio - Writers Block - this month. Such an easy paper collection to use.

Here is what I came up with for the challenge...

I have used, as I said, the 7 Dots Studio - Writers Block paper collection. I have used black wire to create my 1 circle, my 2 arrows have come from the awesome Elements sheet that comes with the collection. My 3 flowers are a variety of flowers from Scrapbookit, including Bella. I have used 4 little black buttons for the button component of this layout, including one shaped like a flower.
My 5 squares are a little bit tricky to see, they are in the top left hand corner. They are also from the Elements sheet and word sticker sheet.

I have added a few other bits and pieces as well including a WOW Chipboard, small chicken wire flourish. I have embossed this and then wiped some Liquid Metals over it. I have also stamped with some Liquid Metals - Metallic Copper...I just LOVE this stuff. It gives a gorgeous shimmer to your projects. I have spread some on the brown flowers and also around the squares. It is very pretty!!
The gorgeous little 'Family' chipboard word has been covered with the Liquid Metals. Then I used a black Gelato to add some depth to the word.

Here is a close up...

I hope that you are all organised, or nearly organised for Christmas. I will be back later in the month to share another project using this gorgeous range...let's hope that by then I am a little more Christmas organised :D

Until then, enjoy the festive season!

Adore Forever...

Happy New Year Everyone!

Welcome to my first post for 2015! I hope that everyone has had a wonderful festive season and a great start to the New Year. 2015...Wow!

As this post goes live I am on holidays with my family in Moruya just near Batemans Bay in NSW. We have spent some time in Avoca Beach, then Canberra and this is the last week or so of our summer holiday.
I love holidays. I hope you are all having a break no matter where you are and that you are staying safe. All of the fires in SA and VIC at the moment are devastating. If you are affected please know our thoughts are with you all.

This month at Scrapbookit, the beautiful Brenda has provided us with the challenge, a tic tac toe!
I love tic tac toes because you have a little bit of variety with what you can do and if you are like me you can be a little naughty and slip in a few extras from the grid!!!!

Here is the tic tac toe grid that Brenda has set up for us...what a great selection!

I have decided to use one of the diagonals...'Flowers, Journal (more than a few lines) and Stencil' as my main focus for this layout.

Here is what I came up with...

This is my gorgeous Nan who turned 85 last year. I used an app on my iPhone called 'Color Splash' to remove the background colours on this photo and just have the main focus of the photo coloured.

As always, Jo has challenged me with an awesome pack of goodies. As you all probably know girly papers and I rarely cross paths but Jo never lets me get away with sitting in my comfort zone and that is what I love most about designing for Scrapbookit...I am forever challenged!

My pack included the Bo Bunny paper collection 'Madeleine.' Such gorgeous papers that include pinks, greys, mint greens and maroons.

I started this layout with a piece of Coconut Kaisercard which I sprayed with Heidi Swapp Colourshine 'Blush'...my first deviation from the grid (whoops!). I then used the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil 'Doily' with some moulding paste in random places around the cardstock. Once dry, I swiped the raised moulding paste with Burgundy Versa Colour Ink. Here are some close ups of the stencil work.

I then used some of the patterned papers to create a patchwork effect behind the photo. Some of these squares I have raised and punched a decorative edge. All sqaures have been inked using the Kaisercraft Grey Ink.
I have mounted the photo on some patterned paper from the collection and some Kaisercard 'Steele' cardstock.
I have also fussy cut some leaves and a birdcage from the patterned paper to add to the features on this layout.

The next part of the grid that I have used is 'Flowers' I have used a mix of Manor House and Kaisercraft paper flowers to create a flower cluster on the layout.
I have also stamped some Burgundy flower stamps from my pack. Another of my deviations - stamps! Also in my pack was a word stamp 'Adore' which I also stamped in this area using the Grey Kaisercraft Ink.
I have also added some Pearl embellishment swirls from Flourish with a Bling to this cluster.

Here is a close up of the cluster...

The last feature of my layout taken from the Tic Tac Toe grid is the Journal (more than a few lines). Journalling is such an important feature of scrapbooking layouts. In years to come I want people, especially my son, to look at these layouts and to know and have access to stories and people who are part of his past.
However, being that this requirement was 'more than a few lines' I didn't want the story to be the feature of this layout. I wanted the photo to be the focus. So I decided to hide my journalling. Behind the photo I have created a pocket using some foam tape and another piece of cardstock. I cut a piece of Kaisercard 'Ballet' with a tab on the left hand side and inked the edges with Kaiscraft Grey Ink.
This is where I journalled.
On the tab I used the Bo Bunny Combo Stickers for the word 'Forever.'

Here is a close up of the journalling card behind the photo...

And to finish a shot of the layout with the journalling card pulled out.

I hope that this has inspired you to join in our challenge or to purchase some of these great products from the Scrapbookit Online Store...www.scrapbookit.com.au
If you can't find what you are looking for send an email to Jo and she will help you out. She is always more than happy to help you out with all you need to get your scrap on!!

Make sure you pop back again throughout this week to see what else I have created using this Bo Bunny collection.

Until then,
Happy Scrapping!

Another from Pebbles

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my second post for this month!
This month the whole design team has been using the papers from the 12x12 Pebbles Birthday paper pad.
You would agree that we have seen some awesome inspiration from the team, all using such different ways to share a great paper range with you.

It is also so lovely to look to the right of the blog and to see layouts from you! Wow...they are amazing...all with different elements from the tic-tac-toe board. Thank you so much for joining in...we look forward to seeing so many more this month.

Remember the challenge this month is to choose your inspiration from the tic-tac-toe board.

You can choose horizontal, vertical or diagonal...whatever takes your fancy AND if you add some of the other elements...that is OK too!

I have created a layout using the diagonal - bling, celebrate and flowers and I am sure that these elements will be very obvious to you in my layout.

This layout is using a photo from my niece's 3rd Birthday.

A simple layout...but I wanted it to be delicate and sweet...I hope that I have done that!!

I sprayed the 'Coconut Kaisercard' with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine ~ Primrose.

I used a Kaiser template and some texture paste to add some inconspicuous texture to the layout.

How gorgeous is the Manor House die cut??? Jo has plenty in store.

I have used some Kaiser flowers and Kaiser Rhinestones for embellishments.

Here is a close up...

I have used the Kaisercraft Birthday Clear Stamps for my little birthday message.

I have just loved working with this collection of papers. They are so versatile, bright and bring lots of fun to my layouts.

Make sure you pop on over to the Scrapbookit Online Store to check out the great products that Jo has instore.

I hope that I have inspired you this month...even just a little...so that you can enter our challenge. I look forward to seeing what you come up with...you still have 9 days to get yours in!!!

Thanks for visiting...happy scrapping!

Hi everyone, it's Cindy here, I'm very excited to be able to share with you all my first creations for Scrapbookit....
First up I have a layout "Red Rock Canyon"
I created this layout using the Graphic 45  Typography collection, now who doesn't love Graphic 45.... along with the Graphic 45 I used some fantastic Scrap FX products (Chevron Stencil, chicken wire, Elm leaf stamp) I love the Scrap FX chicken wire, so many uses....

I also used a distress stain to create all the splats and drips on the layout, as well as to colour the corrugated cardboard and chicken wire.... I finished the layout off with some Kaiser lettering and by altering some of the flowers available from Scrapbookit....

Next up I have an altered project to share...
an alarm clock I altered using more of the Graphic 45 Typography collection, and more of the Scrapbookit flowers, along with some cogs cut from black cardstock

add to this a Scrap FX "moments" mini word to finish it off

Well I hope you've enjoyed these projects and are feeling inspired to create some of your own...
thanks for stopping by
Till next time, I hope you will share your latest creations with us over on our facebook page here
Happy Creating
