Welcome to our last post for February.

I am here to share a couple of layouts I have done using the Kaisercraft 'Open Road',

The patterned papers in this range are wonderful for backgrounds, I have toned it down a bit with Colour Blast Artist Ink so that my stamped images would show a little better. I have coloured the ScrapFX chipboard piece with Inks as well.

Yes I even managed a double layout with some photo's from our trip to Craigs Hut on our honeymoon. I have added lots of stickers stamps and used the stencil from this great Aussie range. I  used the Colour Blast Artist Ink through the stencil and highlighted the stamp quote also.

Well we have a couple of days for you to still join in our monthly competition, so why not give it a go. You could win a $30 voucher from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au .

Things are busy in the store at the moment as we gear up for our May Retreat but the girls will be back next week with another fantastic challenge. Look forward to seeing what you all create. Have a wonderful week.

Who said Winter had to be drab!!

Hello!
I'm back with another layout to share with you all.
I had a lot of fun with this layout, using a photo of my youngest son Sebby and I. Once again I have used the 7 dots studio - Northern Lights Paper Collection.

I started my Layout with a patterned piece of paper then added some Gesso to the background, I then mixed some of the Colour Blast - Colour Artist Ink in Berry with some gesso and painted it around the page, then I used a Kaisercraft stencil and added some stencilling over the top with my Dylusions paint in the vibrant turquoise, some of these I highlighted with my black sharpie pen just to help make them standout a bit. Next I added a whole lot of different patterned paper which I tore some of the edges and added some doodling to as well.

I added some splatters of spray with the Colour Blast - Colour Spray in Road Base and also some of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray in Tibetan Poppy Teal! This spray has the most gorgeous shine to it, it's Amazing!
I then added my pictures which I had backed with some black Kaisercraft cardstock and then added my title with some script font and some black lettering from my stash!

Added some of the tags and stickers from the paper pack, and cut out this gorgeous Uniquely Creative Light Bulb Metal Die on the right hand side of my page with my sizzix and some sparkly turquoise paper and my layout is complete!
Have you entered our Challenge for this month yet? Jo is very generously donating a store gift voucher to the lucky winner! How good is that?!?!
Saturday we had our monthly crop day and had such a lovely day, Jo runs these crop days from her beautiful home and they are available for anyone to come and scrap for the day and have a little shop whilst they are at it!
Everything I have used on my Layout today is available to purchase from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au head on over and have a look!
Thanks for your time today, I'm up next month with another exciting challenge I have created! Can't wait to share it with you all!

Open Road - Kaisercraft

Good Morning,

Welcome to Scrapbookit, it seems that I haven't been here for so long. I hope you have all had a wonderful break over the festive season and the children are all settled back to school.
My break has been anything but wonderful as I had a serious fall from my horse on christmas eve and have spent the last 6 weeks trying to recover. Slowly but surely  I am getting there.

I have managed to do some scrapping and have done the great challenge that Mel has set for us for February. This month I created with the Kaisercraft range ' Open Road', which I have really enjoyed. All the Aussie elements and grungy feel to the papers it suited my photo's just right.

So here is my take on the challenge using a photo from my honeymoon to Merrijig,

So of course my honeymoon was romantic and the three colours I have used Blue, Green and Brown created with the Artist Inks from ColourBlast. The stickers are from the range and my title is from Country singer Steve Azar because everybody needs a little sunshine always.

The three colours of Artists Ink I used were Lime, Walnut and Oasis. I am loving the way that they bleed and blend together and to add splatters to your page is easy.

Scrapbookit has the full range of the new inks and there is a great variety as the girls have focused on this month.

I hope we have encouraged you all to enter our challenge, you could be in the running for a $30 voucher from our store www.scrapbookitshop.com.au .

Have a great weekend

Georgy Girl.

Georgy Girl...
Hello, I hope you are all well and have had a fantastic Christmas and New Year.
Mel has set us a really great challenge this month, I have had a lot of fun working on this Layout of my niece and I, which was taken on the night of her Deb Ball.
This is my Layout!
I was lucky enough to be able to use the 7 DOTS STUDIO Northern Lights paper collection.
I started my layout with a piece of patterned paper out of the range, I then applied some gesso over the page, I added some Dylusions Paint in bubblegum pink then added some Colour Blast Artist Ink in Berry using the packaging technique. Next I got my stencils out and added some of the Colour Blast Colour Paste through my first stencil with Royalty, I then added some Gesso mixed with some mauve paint through the Kaisercraft heart stencil.

For Mel's 3-2-1 Challenge We had to use three different colors,, I used pink, black, mauve and many more colors as well! I had to use two embellishments which I used some little bows that I made up using some twine, some small hearts that I have punched out and lot's of different tags and word stickers from the paper pack. The last part of the challenge was to include a song title or parts of a lyric, I chose to use the song Georgy Girl which is sung by the band The Seekers. I chose this as my title because it is actually what we call my niece Georgina.

I stuck my photo onto some black cardstock then added several different patterned paper underneath it as well as the black tissue paper which borders the left hand side of my photo.
I used my sizzix with a Kaisercraft die to cut out my title then used some of the word stickers out of the paper pack to finish my layout!
I added some doodling around the outside of my layout then I was finished. I hope you have gotten some inspiration out of this layout.

Do you have anyone that you think may be interested in joining our monthly challenges? We would love to see some new faces in our little scrapbookit community, every month Jo gives out THE BEST prizes, you have nothing to loose to enter and invite all of your friends we would love to see all of your work.

Morning,
Jo here back to share another project I have done this month with the Cocoa Vanilla
Make a Wish range. I thought I would do a birthday layout with these fun papers. This month I also want to showcase the new mini templates from Kaisercraft which I have used on my page.

These new mini templates are an ideal size for adding random texture to your backgrounds. I have used some Dylusion's paint Bubblegum Pink and then over the top I have added some Colour Blast Paste Envy. I then heated it with my heat gun to create the bubbly finish. I then gave it a spray of  Heidi Swapp Gold mist.

My title is a Heidi Swapp sticker that I have run through my Minc machine to cover in gold, some washi tape I had in my stash and the tags are from the Make a Wish Bits and Pieces pack.

I hope you are joining in our fun challenge this month, don't forget all the product our Design Team use are available instore so if you would like to purchase any checkout the online store www.scrapbookit.com.au or if you cant find it there drop me a message.

Enjoy your week, Happy Scrapping

Good Times

Hi everyone, it's Cindy here, thanks for joining me today.
It's my turn to share my take on the February challenge.
Leah has left us a sketch to work with for this months challenge.

Here is the sketch...

and here is my take ....
I have used the Kaisercraft "Now Boarding" collection  for my layout, "Terminal and Cabin Crew".

I created the background using the Scrap FX small Sweetheart stencil, and the Darkroom Door "French Script" background stamp, this is a fabulous stamp that should be in everyone's stash, so versatile for all projects. I used Scrap FX title "Remembering the good times with impasto, black acrylic paint and copper Perfect Pearl Mist for plenty of shine.

I also used the Scrap FX Steampunk Heart and the New Zealand theme pack, and treated them in the same manner as the title.

I used the collection pack from the All Aboard range to embellish the page further.

I hope that you enjoyed my take on the challenge sketch, and I look forward to seeing your entries.

till next time,
happy creating

Heidi Swapp 'Mixed Company'

Morning all,
I hope you all have a great week, this post I am sharing my projects I have done using the Heidi Swapp 'Mixed Company' paper pad that is instore. As you know I went to Heidi's class in Melbourne last November and have been in love with all her products. In these two layouts I have misted with the colour shine, Ive stapled and stuck lots of the ephemera embellishments and used the colour magic alpha's.

Here is my take on Leah's Sketch challenge for this month:

Layout #2 I did of my daughter Kasey who doesn't seem to get in front of the camera all that much. I love playing with all the colours and this banner.

Heidi has lots of new product coming out from this years CHA releases so I hope to be able to stock these when they hit Aussie shores.

I hope you are all getting creative and being inspired to have a go at Leah's sketch, send your entries through to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au and check out the Gallery.

February Guest Design Team Member

Good Morning everyone,
I hope you have all settled back into school/work routine after a great summer break. I can't believe how quick the month has gone and I'm back to introduce our new member of the team for February.

Please welcome Leah Aristidis:

My name is Leah and I am a scrap-a-holic! I have been scrapping since 1995 and I love everything about the craft. My main subjects are my very tolerant partner, Phil and my two cherubs, Jordan 12 and Dakota 6. I love layers, misting and texture but my layouts tend to be fairly clean and simple.

Leah has set a wonderful sketch challenge for us to play along with this month.

To enter our challenge please submit a project using Leah's sketch and send it in an email to Scrapbookit
All entries will be in our gallery, entries close Feb 28th.

This month I sent Leah a kit which contained the Kaisercraft 'Spring Bloom' range and she has created a wide variety of projects which show just how you can use these products so many ways.

Here are some of the pages she has done:

I will be back tomorrow to show you some more of Leah's wonderful work, until then
Happy crafting

Share the LOVE!

Hey Everyone,

Mel here! What a fantastic challenge we have happening here at Scrapbookit this month. I have had a ball doing this challenge - a blessing after a huge beginning to the school year - thanks Monica for the crafty goodness you have supplied for us!

Layout Challenge:
Scrap a layout dedicated to someone or something that is cherished. It could be a person or even a place, a book a family heirloom. Also tell the story we want to know why this is special to you. You must include these embellishments............ hearts and a stamped image.

When I read about this challenge my mind started going wild with all of the possibilities.....so much so that I think I may use this challenge again and again and again!

I decided to use a photo of my two boys that I just adore (I adore the boys and I adore the photo)! I have been holding on to this photo for the right moment, the right paper collection before I scrap it. The photo was a little bit of a fluke (don't you love when that happens) and was taken at Little Bay, Sydney.

My layout is called..."My Everything"

I have used the Echo Park Paper Company - A Boy's Life collection. This paper collection is so yummy, so versatile and so bright and vibrant.
I have also used the Kaisercard - Navy and Fern. This was the first time I have used Kaisercard. It went well.....a few finger marks appeared but that happens to me on any cardstock I use!

In this challenge we are asked to tell the story of why we cherish and find this special to us. My page (to me) is extremely special. I took the opportunity to tell the boys what they mean to me. Sometimes when you are scrapbooking these sorts of moments, memories or occasions the journalling is something you don't want for everyone to see. This was the case for me. So, I created a hidden journalling pocket for my journalling to go in. Check it out....

I used an envelope. I cut off the flap, covered the envelope in paper and created a tag that fits snuggly into the envelope. I added a brad to assist in the case of pulling out the journalling card.

In the photo above you can see the flower embellishments I have used. All I have done is flattened some Kaisercraft Paper Blooms and hidden them under the paper layers. A more masculine way to make use of your flowers.

I have used some Kaisercraft Clear Stamps for my stamped image and a  gorgeous heart shaped stencil to complete those components for the challenge.
I tested a Jenni Bowlin - Ink Pad called Seed Packet. There are some gorgeous colours in the range. It was nice to work with and really easy to apply to papers and a variety of other products. Why not give it one a try and see if you love it too? - Get it here!

Now for my card. You can find the sketch on the right hand side of the page. Again another great challenge. Just to show you the versatility of the Echo Park Paper Company's A Boy's Life I have used some of the patterned paper to create a more feminine card.

I stuck also to the idea of hearts and a stamped image. It is amazing what you can with just one paper collection, isn't it?

Thanks for taking the time to have a look.

Before I go - NEWSFLASH -
Scrapbookit is holding a 2012 Retreat.
Don't forget to pop by / email Jo to grab all of the details and we will se you there!

Have an awesome end to your week,
