Good morning...welcome back to Scrapbookit's Christmas Challenge month!

I'm still pinching myself trying to work out where this year has gone...it is so crazy!

I'm just loving our challenge this month...I have so many great Christmas photos. It's always a nice feeling to scrap Christmas layouts...lots of great moments and memories.

Jane has set us a fantastic challenge this month for Christmas.

Criteria for the challenge is as follows:

*Create a Christmas layout

*Use the name of a Christmas Carol somewhere on the page

*Use some fabric OR tissue paper on the page

*Use white cardstock as the background

*Include a star, Christmas tree and a bauble on the page

Here is my layout...

I have used the gorgeous Simple Stories Classic Christmas collection. This is such a gorgeous collection. It has two cardstock sticker sheets, 12x12 papers and lots of different journalling card elements.

I started with a white piece of cardstock, some Colour Blast Colour Paste in Bling and the Kaisercraft Fading Dots 12 x 12 Designer Template. The template has larger dots at the bottom, however, I didn't want anything too large so kept to the finer dots in the background by just using the top section of the template.

I knew from the beginning that I was going to us the Christmas Carol "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" ~ I love this carol and it was perfect for my photo. It was also one of the journaling cards in the collection. I combined a couple of smaller journaling cards for the other side of the photo!

The baubles are gorgeous...unfortunately the photo doesn't quite highlight the beautiful gold stars and detail on the baubles.

I have used some black tissue paper in the background behind the patterned papers and have trimmed the papers with a gold paper to tie in the gold highlights in the patterned paper and the Colour Blast paste.

I also used some Uniquely Creative Washi Tape under the photo.

Whilst I had a rather large title with my Christmas Carol title...I just used the matching stickers from the Simple Stories collection to highlight the year.

My little Christmas tree is also a sticker from the Simple Stories collection. I have added a star from the Cocoa Vanilla - You Rock Wood Veneers which I have painted with the Colour Blast Colour Paste in Bling.

Well, I have loved creating this layout. This Simple Stories collection is gorgeous, so easy to use and so many different ways to use it.

You and Me!

Hello and welcome to my second post for the month.

I have had a lot of fun with this layout once again using the 49 market cottage life paper pack.

Here is my Layout.

 I have started my layout by using a piece of the patterned cardstock and one of my Dylusions brick wall stencils and have then added some Ranger distress oxide in the colours Barn door and

Cracked pistachio. I layered lots of different patterned paper under my photo as well as using my die cutter machine and Kaisercraft die and placing these around the page as well.

I have fussy cut the ladder and some of the flowers from the patterned paper then added some cocoa vanilla flowers that were in my stash.

I still had some of the gorgeous Uniquely Creative lace butterflies left from the last layout so I added some of them to my page and fussy cut some butterflies out as well.

My little word stickers were also from an old cocoa vanilla range that I had.

So far this month we have some excellent entries which is so great to see.

Sweet Memory...

 Spring has finally arrived and we have had some beautiful sunny days to get us all excited about the warmer weather that is to come! Springtime in my opinion is the best season of the year.

I'm very much looking forward to some more sunshine and longer days.

I have been lucky enough this month to set the Scrapbookit September Challenge, I hope that you all enjoy what I have come up with. I have found a mood board which is pictured below that you can take inspiration off in any way that you would like, it could be that you use butterflies that you have chosen off the mood board or you use circles or flowers on your layout that have been inspired from the mood board or that you just do a layout using some of the colours provided on the mood board. The possibilities are endless and a whole lot of fun!

I have also added a few extra criteria these are to:

*Use the Mood board provided(pictured above).

*Use the word LOVE somewhere on your layout.

*Use a mixed media element.

*Use some fussy cutting.

Easy right?? This is what I have come up with. I have actually used my challenge criteria not just for a layout but also for a 90th Birthday card I made for my husband's Grandma.
I will start with the card first.
I began using a plain white square card, I embossed it using a Kaisercraft embossing folder, added some Ranger distress oxide on Barn door, spritzed it with water then used some paper towel to mop the excess water off. I love the effect this gives to the paper, I then used the Uniquely Creative script font die and added it to my background.

This month I have been lucky enough to use this beautiful 49 Market Cottage life paper collection, normally I would have a lot of trouble using this type of paper but I actually really enjoyed using it and I am very happy with the results on my card and layout!

 I have fussy cut an image from the paper, added some Uniquely Creative flowers as well as some Kaisercraft pearls and a Kaisercraft clear sticker, then to finish my card I have added this beautiful lace butterfly. It is absolutely gorgeous and really goes with this paper range.

Next for my challenge layout!

As I have said above I have started my layout using a patterned piece of paper from the 49 market cottage life paper range, I added some stencilling with a Kaisercraft lace border stencil and some Ranger distress oxide in Barn door.


In following the challenge criteria I have used the word 'LOVE' several times on my layout, fussy cut A LOT of flowers, my mixed media element was the stencilling and the inspiration I have taken from the mood board was the butterfly's and the flowers.

Once again I have used the gorgeous lace  butterfly's from the Uniquely Creative range as well as some of their flowers! The wooden chippie I have used is from Scrap fx and is called celebration of hearts, I have used the same barn door distress oxide on it and added some Ranger Glossy Accents over the top as well. My photo's are backed using some of the patterned paper as well as the layers of paper underneath it. To finish my layout I have added a doodle border and a Kaisercraft clear sticker over the pile of flowers that I fussy cut out.

Hello Beautiful Girl!

Hello

My turn back up on the blog this month, I have had a lot of fun creating this layout.

Here it is.

I started this layout by using a sheet of Kaisercraft Black Cardstock, I have then used my circle punch and punched a whole lot of circles using the  Echo Park Imagine That paper pad.
I randomly glued them down over half of the page, I then used some ColourBlast Paste in Bling with a Kaisercraft heart stencil.

The title was from some little diecuts that I had in my stash, I also punched some tiny hearts and scattered them around the page and I have also added some cute little flowers from Uniquely Creative.

I also decided when making this layout that I would make a little secret journaling space which you can see below.

Good Morning and welcome back to Scrapbookit

I hope you are staying warm on this wet wintery day I am on the blog today to share some more layouts I have had fun creating with the Doodlebug Design range 'Hello'

Firstly I created a background with the Tim Holtz 'Distress Oxides' adding some circles with a blending tool and then spraying with water to get the spreading layers.

I am loving the bold colours and prints in this range and the die cuts are just perfect for creating clusters. I have also added some sticker's from the range as well.

My second share today is a layout that I have used the patterned paper as my background, I then added some Vicki Burton paint to add a little subtleness.

I have added  a Sizzix  rainbow die which I coloured with my Copics, I also added some Cloud's from  a new die from Uniquely Creative. Lots of fun die-cuts and stickers from the range. 

I also covered my Scrap FX title with the Nuvo Gilding Flakes for some sparkle.

A New Month and a New Challenge!

Welcome to July!

Another new month and another new challenge, which I can't wait to share with you all.

Isn't the year flying???

Are you ready for a new challenge?

For this month our challenge is to....

1. Use the Page Maps sketch below.

2. Include each of the Grab 5 requirements in your project.

Grab 5 requirements:

1. A mixed media product

2. Stickers

3. Embellishments - flowers, stars, hearts.....

4. Fibre - cotton/thread/ribbon/twine....

5. A household item to create texture - bubble wrap, dishwashing sponge, napkins....

I had an absolute ball creating my first project for this challenge.

Not only did I have the challenge requirements but my kit that I received was very florally!

But OMG...I LOVE it!!!!

Here it is...

My project is actually a 12x12 canvas!

I started with a very thin layer of gesso to try and hide a stain on the canvas.

Just recently I was watching a Vicki Boutin Friday Night Live and Vicki was using her Art Crayons to create a background using the drop technique (I think that is what it was called).

It was very cool so I tried to recreate the technique but with using my Faber Castell Gelatos. How cool are the colours?

I added some black acrylic paint dots with two different sized bubble wrap.

I have used the gorgeous Simple Stories 'Welcome Spring' paper collection and cardstock stickers for my embellishments and paper strips.

I have also used some of the Dina Wakley Media Washi tape as some of the strips in my background.

I have backed my photos in a thin tissue type paper that I have collected from a bunch of flowers I was given.

I have added a few wood veneer hearts alongside my little clusters of embellishments.

I have hand written my journalling and have also hand written part of my title You Make My Heart Sing! The sticker letters are from an old Kaisercraft collection Sticker Sheet - Happy Snaps!

Can you see the gorgeous little die cut behind my photos in two places?

This is an awesome die!! Not only do you have the sweet little heart wreath but you also have a variety of different sized little hearts that come just from one cut! Such a great die cut!

I have added some of the little hearts around my project.

Kaisercraft - Stargazers

Hey Everyone!

Just thought I would pop back in quickly to share with you another 2 projects that I have created using the Kaisercraft - Stargazers collection!

This time around I have used the collection for my boy's Year 7 school photo!

This was a quick layout one Friday night!

The other project I quickly did was this cute little card.

The majority of the card is made using the gorgeous Uniquely Creative Clear Stamps - Have a Blast!

I just started stamping away one night and finished up with this!!!

I just love these Uniquely Creative stamps. Besides that this particular set is very cute the stamps themselves are fantastic. They stamp clearly and nicely first go!!!

Not sure what I will use the card for...but it was fun creating it!!

The 2 of Us

Today I am here to share with you my take on Jane's June Challenge.

Have you seen the requirements?

It is such a great challenge!

All you need to do is use:

*The Sketch

and 2 or more of the following:

*Washi

*Watercolours

*Stamps

*Stencils

This month I am using the new collection by Kaisercraft 'Stargazer.'

It is quite a different collection for Kaisercraft but very lovely. 

I have loved using it for this challenge.

Here is what I came up with...

I giggled when I read Jane's post the other day...great minds think alike...we both used washi for the little flags!!! I have used some SP Washi and a few other washi tapes that I had.

I started with using my watercolours in a variety of different tones of blue and grey. I also splattered some Dylusions Ink Spray ~ Periwinkle Blue as well as the Dylusions ~ Black Marble around the background.

I have used the sensational patterned papers of this collection for the squares. It's not easy to find photos that you can trim to 2" by 2" size, so I printed my photos to the size. These were some selfies of us in Thailand earlier in the year.

It is a little hard to see in the photos but I have actually raised the photos. I just thought that by doing that they are now the focus of the layout.

I have decorated some of the squares with collectables or stickers from the pack. 

How gorgeous is the border sticker with the dots that I have used at the bottom of the larger square??

I added a little feature of the collectables in the corner (In my true style...it is my addition to the sketch 😬 whoops! I couldn't help myself!!)

In the collectables I found this gorgeous Mother Teresa quote. I love it...and so appropriate!

I have used the Uniquely Creative Clear Stamp Set - Have a Blast which contains the stamp 'You Mean the World to Me.' I just LOVE these stamps...they are very cool but most importantly they stamp so precisely! You should check them out!!

My journalling I printed from my laptop using the American Typewriter font!

Lastly, I used some American Crafts Foam Thickers from my stash called "Delight"

So in the end, I have used the sketch and all bar one of the extra requirements...

That Kaiser collection and those Uniquely Creative Clear Stamps are a MUST HAVE!
