You're Out of this World

Goodmorning Mel here to share another couple of projects for this month's challenge!

I have LOVED using this Echo Park - Imagine That paper collection.
And for someone who isn't a fan of green I have definitely challenged myself with the two layouts I have to share with you today!

I have continued with the challenge requirements today ~ Get inspiration from the word 'Imagine'!

Here is my first layout...

I started with a piece of Coredinations cardstock in Navy. It has been a while since I have used anything other than white.
I watered down some white acrylic paint and splattered it around my background to give it a "spacey" effect.

I layered blocks and strips of patterned paper to create this page ensuring that I kept the words 'Imagine' and 'Super Hero' in the green paper exposed. I have elevated the photos and the "You're Out of this World" journaling card.

I love everything about this paper collection, however, my two favourites are the element stickers and the featured journaling cards. These cards are so easy to use and are a quick and easy option for creating featured sections on your project. I am not a big 'Project Life' creator but love using these as features on my layouts.

I finished my layout with some element stickers and some white gel pen borders and journalling. I love how this layout turned out in the end!

When creating this layout "You're Out of this World" I had some other great photos of this same time that I wanted to use however I didn't want to create a 12x12 layout...so I tried my hand at a 9x12 layout...

I started with a wash of the "Fresh Lime" Dylusions Paint on some white cardstock.
I then used some Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint "Metallique Rusty Red" through the Darkroom Door Small Stencil "Arty Hexagons" randomly around the background.

I layered some of the gorgeous Echo Park "Imagine That" papers.
I have used one of the journaling cards from this collection which I have trimmed to use as my title 'Awesome'.
I have a couple of other words...possible subtitles...Love This - a Kaisercraft Wooden Embellishment from the 'Today' pack.
I have also used the "Imagine That" which can be found on the edge of the Echo Park paper collection papers.

I also added some American Crafts Remarks Alpha Stickers 'Playtime' from my stash to create the journaling on the page.

I finished with a hand-drawn border and some script writing.

I hope that you have found some inspiration from my projects today. All products featured can be found at Scrapbookit
Only a couple of days to get your entry in for this months challenge ~ what would you spend your winning voucher on???

Have a great weekend!

Hello Beautiful Girl!

Hello
My turn back up on the blog this month, I have had a lot of fun creating this layout.
Here it is.

I started this layout by using a sheet of Kaisercraft Black Cardstock, I have then used my circle punch and punched a whole lot of circles using the  Echo Park Imagine That paper pad.
I randomly glued them down over half of the page, I then used some ColourBlast Paste in Bling with a Kaisercraft heart stencil.

The title was from some little diecuts that I had in my stash, I also punched some tiny hearts and scattered them around the page and I have also added some cute little flowers from Uniquely Creative.

I also decided when making this layout that I would make a little secret journaling space which you can see below.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout today, we have had a few entries this month for our challenge which is great! These entries can be viewed on our Facebook page in the August Challenge Album.

Next month I'm up again with an exciting challenge for the month, I cannot wait to share it with you all!
Until then Happy Scrapping

Imagine That!

Happy Friday Everyone!
Mel here on the blog today to share with you my first project for this months challenge.
It is a fantastic challenge...so open ended ~ you can take it wherever you would like it to go!

My layout features...a cheeky 3 year old (who is now 13 😲!!!) and the gorgeous Echo Park 'Imagine That!' Collection.
Here is my layout...

I started with some Kaisercard 'Coconut' and decided that I needed to create a background with the colours from the paper collection but also leaving plenty of white space!
I used the Darkroom Door Small Stencil 'Arty Hexagons' with several different paints:
* Jo Sonja's Orange (from my stash)
*Dylusions - Calypso Teal and Fresh Lime
*Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint - Metallique Rusty Red
*Navy - a mix of old acrylic paints (from my stash); I also used this to splatter a little paint in the background
*Vicki Boutin - Acrylic Paints - Daiquiri Ice

Once dry, I used my Uniball Signo Broad white pen to doodle a little outline on each hexagon.

Now one of my favourite things about this gorgeous boy themed collection from Echo Park is that it has a variety of 'project life style' cards that you can cut apart and use. I used these in a couple of different ways.

Firstly, I used the card "Imagination" as a focal point/subtitle on my page.
I also used another as a pocket and then another for my hidden journalling card.

Whilst I complete a lot of layouts with minimal journalling...I do see this as such an important part of the memory keeping process. When I do journal a lot you will often find it hidden in a pocket! A really cool way to include journalling.

I love the element sticker from the Echo Park collection "Today I will be...." featured on the pocket. It was perfect for my photo!

Actually, I love all of the little element stickers from this collection.

I have finished off my layout with the Dusty Attic Chipboard Blueprint ~ Imagine!
I painted this with the mix of Navy paint that I used in the background. I then splattered it with the gorgeous Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint - Metallique Rusty Red and the Vicki Boutin - Daiquiri Ice Acrylic Paint.

I just love that each of us in the Design Team have used this chipboard however each of us have recoloured it in such different ways!
I also finished off with the quote from the inspiration board...'Everything you can imagine is real'

That's as easy as it is this month!
I love these inspiration board challenges...so much flexibility!!
We would love you to join in with us (check out the requirements in the right column of this blog)...you have until August 30 to get your entries in for your chance to win a Scrapbookit Voucher to spend in store!

Just imagine...with that voucher you could purchase all of these gorgeous goodies I have used this month in my project!

Happy Scrapping!

Imagine!

Good Morning!
I have a ripper of a layout for you all to start the month off. In following Jo's challenge which is anything to do with the word Imagine. When I heard what the challenge was going to be I just knew that I had to use this picture of my daughter Rahni taken whilst we were away in QLD recently.

I have made a very busy layout with a lot of products BUT I am very happy with the final result and I think it all works!
 Here's my Layout.

To begin I used some Kaisercraft white cardstock, using the packaging technique I have used some Dylusions Rose Quartz and Bubble-gum

Pink ink spray which I randomly smooshed (haha is that even a word) all over the page, I then used a Darkroom Door Arty Circles stencil with some Dylusions Peony blush paint and randomly placed these circles over the top of the ink. Some splatters of Tim Holtz Tarnished Brass Distress Spray Stain and also some of the Heidi Swapp Mint Color Shine and my background was finished.

The paper I have used behind the photo was Echo Park Imagine That, I randomly cut circles out freehand and glued them mostly just in the middle part of the page. I added some doodles over the top of some of the circles and around the edge of the page.

How cool is that striped Washi I have used sporadically around the page? its kind of hard to see but it has the cutest little gold pineapples on it. Just adorable. It came in a pack of four from Creative PL.

For my Imagine chippy which is from The Dust Attic I used some Ranger blendable dye ink in Garden Patina, I then added some Gold Metallic Gilding Wax over the top, I REALLY love the effect this has given the chippy.

To finish my Layout I have added some cute little hearts that I have punched with my tiny heart punch and added the quote up the top which I love and I think was very appropriate for the photo and the theme!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you all!
What a beautiful day it is going to be here today! Santa has been and the kids are sooo excited. We will be spending Christmas with lots of family surrounding us.
I have a layout here today that I cannot wait to share with you all.. It's very busy and full of mixed media elements which is something that I  am really enjoying doing at the moment.

I have used the Echo Park Let's be Mermaids collection again and I have had a lot of fun with it.
I started my Layout with some Kaisercraft black cardstock and applied some strips of different coloured Dylusions Paints, I really love these paints and they can be used for so many different things and the brightness of the colours is just AMAZING!

I have then applied two different shades of the blue paint over the top of the stripes using some bubble wrap, I really like the effect that this has given to my layout.
For the rest of my layout I have added some different pattern paper from the collection as well as some of the stickers and I have also fussy cut some of the mermaids and the whale out of the paper collection as well.

To finish my layout I have sprinkled some Tim Holtz distress spray over the top and it has given it a really nice golden shimmer.
I would like to wish all of our Scrapbookit blog and Facebook followers a very Merry, Safe and Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year filled with lots of special time to Scrapbook!
That's it for me for this year, I look forward to sharing with you a lot more of my creations in 2018!!!

Under The Sea.

Good Afternoon, what is everybody up to this fine and sunny Sunday? Are you getting any scrapping done? Have you entered our challenge yet? We have some great prizes on offer this month, you could win yourself a little Xmas gift just for finishing a Layout!! It's that easy..

So this month Jo has set us an Awesome Challenge, we are to follow the sketch, use a photo without people in it and have a black background! Too easy right! It's amazing how creative you can actually get when you need to scrap a page using a photo without a person in it... It really is a great challenge!
Here's what I have come up with for this month.

I have used some Black Kaisercraft cardstock and roughly applied some white gesso to the middle of the page, I have then used some of the Tim Holtz Distress Crayon's in the Seedless preserves, fossilized amber and the chipped sapphire. I wanted to create the effect of waves in my background with these crayons so I applied them in that sort of shape and then spritzed some water over the top to give me the washed look.

I think I did a pretty good job following the sketch using the Echo Park Let's be Mermaids collection! This is an absolutely gorgeous collection and I cannot wait to scrap some more pages using it.
My little tag I have made myself using some of the coloured paper and I have also used a lot of the stickers which are included in the pack to complete my layout.
To do my title I used my Sizzix machine with a QuicKutz die out of my stash with some of the patterned paper.

I would like to take this opportunity to Thank Jo for having me as part of her design team this year, I have had an Absolute blast sharing with you all some of my creations.

If you can hop on over to Jo's online store and show her some support by purchasing some Xmas shopping for yourself!! PEEK-A-BOO

Welcome back to www.scrapbookit.com.au!
Have I got a Layout for you! I Love this Layout so much the colours are so Vibrant and I had A LOT of fun making this page.

I have used a lot of mixed media in this Layout as well as some layering of the gorgeous Echo Park That's my boy paper range. This is such a Fun range to work with for all those boys pages that need scrapping!

To start my Layout I applied some water directly onto my white cardstock, I then applied some Dylusions Ink Spray in the colours Periwinkle Blue, Polished Jade and Calypso Teal sprayed this on to make "puddles" added a bit more water to let it run, then mopped up the excess with some paper towel. I love the effect I have gotten with these inks. The colours are just AMAZING!

When I was happy with my colours I applied some Gesso randomly with my Kaisercraft Cogs stencil, I added some stamping with some Black Stayzon ink and the Retro Kaisercraft stamp then added some doodling around the page with my Sharpie permanent pen.

I have added a few sheets of the Kaisercraft Basecoat then some of the Echo Park That's my boy paper range to give me a bit more colour to the layout.
I doodled around the edges of the paper added some stickers from the sticker sheet and added the yellow words which were from my stash.

Jo has such a large range of all different products in her shop, if you haven't had the chance to have a look lately hop online and go to www.scrapbookit.com.au to grab a bargain and replenish your scrapbooking supplies.
