You're Out of this World

Goodmorning Mel here to share another couple of projects for this month's challenge!

I have LOVED using this Echo Park - Imagine That paper collection.
And for someone who isn't a fan of green I have definitely challenged myself with the two layouts I have to share with you today!

I have continued with the challenge requirements today ~ Get inspiration from the word 'Imagine'!

Here is my first layout...

I started with a piece of Coredinations cardstock in Navy. It has been a while since I have used anything other than white.
I watered down some white acrylic paint and splattered it around my background to give it a "spacey" effect.

I layered blocks and strips of patterned paper to create this page ensuring that I kept the words 'Imagine' and 'Super Hero' in the green paper exposed. I have elevated the photos and the "You're Out of this World" journaling card.

I love everything about this paper collection, however, my two favourites are the element stickers and the featured journaling cards. These cards are so easy to use and are a quick and easy option for creating featured sections on your project. I am not a big 'Project Life' creator but love using these as features on my layouts.

I finished my layout with some element stickers and some white gel pen borders and journalling. I love how this layout turned out in the end!

When creating this layout "You're Out of this World" I had some other great photos of this same time that I wanted to use however I didn't want to create a 12x12 layout...so I tried my hand at a 9x12 layout...

I started with a wash of the "Fresh Lime" Dylusions Paint on some white cardstock.
I then used some Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint "Metallique Rusty Red" through the Darkroom Door Small Stencil "Arty Hexagons" randomly around the background.

I layered some of the gorgeous Echo Park "Imagine That" papers.
I have used one of the journaling cards from this collection which I have trimmed to use as my title 'Awesome'.
I have a couple of other words...possible subtitles...Love This - a Kaisercraft Wooden Embellishment from the 'Today' pack.
I have also used the "Imagine That" which can be found on the edge of the Echo Park paper collection papers.

I also added some American Crafts Remarks Alpha Stickers 'Playtime' from my stash to create the journaling on the page.

I finished with a hand-drawn border and some script writing.

I hope that you have found some inspiration from my projects today. All products featured can be found at Scrapbookit
Only a couple of days to get your entry in for this months challenge ~ what would you spend your winning voucher on???

Have a great weekend!

Hello Beautiful Girl!

Hello
My turn back up on the blog this month, I have had a lot of fun creating this layout.
Here it is.

I started this layout by using a sheet of Kaisercraft Black Cardstock, I have then used my circle punch and punched a whole lot of circles using the  Echo Park Imagine That paper pad.
I randomly glued them down over half of the page, I then used some ColourBlast Paste in Bling with a Kaisercraft heart stencil.

The title was from some little diecuts that I had in my stash, I also punched some tiny hearts and scattered them around the page and I have also added some cute little flowers from Uniquely Creative.

I also decided when making this layout that I would make a little secret journaling space which you can see below.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout today, we have had a few entries this month for our challenge which is great! These entries can be viewed on our Facebook page in the August Challenge Album.

Next month I'm up again with an exciting challenge for the month, I cannot wait to share it with you all!
Until then Happy Scrapping

Happy!!

Good Morning and welcome back to Scrapbookit

I hope you are staying warm on this wet wintery day I am on the blog today to share some more layouts I have had fun creating with the Doodlebug Design range 'Hello'

Firstly I created a background with the Tim Holtz 'Distress Oxides' adding some circles with a blending tool and then spraying with water to get the spreading layers.

I am loving the bold colours and prints in this range and the die cuts are just perfect for creating clusters. I have also added some sticker's from the range as well.

My second share today is a layout that I have used the patterned paper as my background, I then added some Vicki Burton paint to add a little subtleness.

I have added  a Sizzix  rainbow die which I coloured with my Copics, I also added some Cloud's from  a new die from Uniquely Creative. Lots of fun die-cuts and stickers from the range.
I also covered my Scrap FX title with the Nuvo Gilding Flakes for some sparkle.

I really hope you get some inspiration from the Design Team and get a chance to enter our monthly challenge, 'IMAGINE' if your entry won a $30 voucher to spend on more crafting supplies. Entry is so easy and we would love to see your projects , you have until the 30th August.

Stay Dry and Warm,

Happy Scrapping

Imagine That!

Happy Friday Everyone!
Mel here on the blog today to share with you my first project for this months challenge.
It is a fantastic challenge...so open ended ~ you can take it wherever you would like it to go!

My layout features...a cheeky 3 year old (who is now 13 😲!!!) and the gorgeous Echo Park 'Imagine That!' Collection.
Here is my layout...

I started with some Kaisercard 'Coconut' and decided that I needed to create a background with the colours from the paper collection but also leaving plenty of white space!
I used the Darkroom Door Small Stencil 'Arty Hexagons' with several different paints:
* Jo Sonja's Orange (from my stash)
*Dylusions - Calypso Teal and Fresh Lime
*Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint - Metallique Rusty Red
*Navy - a mix of old acrylic paints (from my stash); I also used this to splatter a little paint in the background
*Vicki Boutin - Acrylic Paints - Daiquiri Ice

Once dry, I used my Uniball Signo Broad white pen to doodle a little outline on each hexagon.

Now one of my favourite things about this gorgeous boy themed collection from Echo Park is that it has a variety of 'project life style' cards that you can cut apart and use. I used these in a couple of different ways.

Firstly, I used the card "Imagination" as a focal point/subtitle on my page.
I also used another as a pocket and then another for my hidden journalling card.

Whilst I complete a lot of layouts with minimal journalling...I do see this as such an important part of the memory keeping process. When I do journal a lot you will often find it hidden in a pocket! A really cool way to include journalling.

I love the element sticker from the Echo Park collection "Today I will be...." featured on the pocket. It was perfect for my photo!

Actually, I love all of the little element stickers from this collection.

I have finished off my layout with the Dusty Attic Chipboard Blueprint ~ Imagine!
I painted this with the mix of Navy paint that I used in the background. I then splattered it with the gorgeous Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint - Metallique Rusty Red and the Vicki Boutin - Daiquiri Ice Acrylic Paint.

I just love that each of us in the Design Team have used this chipboard however each of us have recoloured it in such different ways!
I also finished off with the quote from the inspiration board...'Everything you can imagine is real'

That's as easy as it is this month!
I love these inspiration board challenges...so much flexibility!!
We would love you to join in with us (check out the requirements in the right column of this blog)...you have until August 30 to get your entries in for your chance to win a Scrapbookit Voucher to spend in store!

Just imagine...with that voucher you could purchase all of these gorgeous goodies I have used this month in my project!

Happy Scrapping!

Imagine!

Good Morning!
I have a ripper of a layout for you all to start the month off. In following Jo's challenge which is anything to do with the word Imagine. When I heard what the challenge was going to be I just knew that I had to use this picture of my daughter Rahni taken whilst we were away in QLD recently.

I have made a very busy layout with a lot of products BUT I am very happy with the final result and I think it all works!
 Here's my Layout.

To begin I used some Kaisercraft white cardstock, using the packaging technique I have used some Dylusions Rose Quartz and Bubble-gum

Pink ink spray which I randomly smooshed (haha is that even a word) all over the page, I then used a Darkroom Door Arty Circles stencil with some Dylusions Peony blush paint and randomly placed these circles over the top of the ink. Some splatters of Tim Holtz Tarnished Brass Distress Spray Stain and also some of the Heidi Swapp Mint Color Shine and my background was finished.

The paper I have used behind the photo was Echo Park Imagine That, I randomly cut circles out freehand and glued them mostly just in the middle part of the page. I added some doodles over the top of some of the circles and around the edge of the page.

How cool is that striped Washi I have used sporadically around the page? its kind of hard to see but it has the cutest little gold pineapples on it. Just adorable. It came in a pack of four from Creative PL.

For my Imagine chippy which is from The Dust Attic I used some Ranger blendable dye ink in Garden Patina, I then added some Gold Metallic Gilding Wax over the top, I REALLY love the effect this has given the chippy.

To finish my Layout I have added some cute little hearts that I have punched with my tiny heart punch and added the quote up the top which I love and I think was very appropriate for the photo and the theme!

August Challenge

Good Morning,

Welcome to another month here at Scrapbookit, can you believe how quick the year is travelling by and a very happy birthday to all the Horses out there ( I know I will spoil my boys just a little more today :) ) .

It's my turn this month to set a challenge for you to get your mojo moving and get you Scrapbooking and making memories.

For the month of August I would like you to 'IMAGINE' that's right just take inspiration from the word 'Imagine' . For example using the word in your title, use a quote, use products that lead your imagination to somewhere special.

Here are a few idea's so have fun!!

My DT inspiration for you was great as I got to create with the 'Doodlebug Designs' Hello range. This is a great range with lots of bold graphics and a great mix of colours.

I have used lots of the 'odds & ends' pack  to create the cluster around my photo, using the 'Dusty Attic' chipboard for my title I covered it with some Nuvo Guilding flakes that are now in stock. I found up some older Cosmo cricket alpha stickers to use the quote in our example.

So I hope you join us this month, entries can be uploaded via our Facebook page, email me at joannecaird@gmail.com, or add them via your blog to our Inlinkz on the side bar. You have until August 30th to be in the running for a $30 voucher from the Scrapbookit store. We really need lots of entries to have a winner.

Can't wait to see your take on challenge, enjoy your week.

Jo Hanna.

Be Kind Always..

Hello and welcome!
I have a cracker of a Layout to show you today.
I used A LOT of products and techniques in this layout and I am really happy with the way it has turned out! Here's my Layout.

I have started with a sheet of Kaisercraft White Cardstock, applied a layer of white Gesso and then had some fun with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks which I randomly applied to my paper using the packaging technique. I then used some black Ranger Ink and went a little CRAZY stamping all over the top of my distress ink with several different flower stamps.

I also added a few clear stickers out of my stash and some Kaisercraft clear Butterfly stickers.
I then added some Colour Blast Colour Paste in Rose Petal through a Kaisercraft Butterfly stencil.
Have you tried the Colour Blast Paste's??? I think they are one of my most Favourite products ever!! Jo @ www.scrapbookit.com.au has all of the different colours in stock so hop onto her online shop and have a look. I can highly recommend them.

Next I layered my paper sheets from the Photo Play paper seeds of kindness range and I made some little handmade embellishments out of the paper as well which I have stuck down in a few different clusters on the page. The little pink and purple fence under the photo is actually a Couture Creations Intricutz die which I cut out using the purple paper then attached the pink paper to the back just to make it stand out a bit more and give it a different effect!
I have randomly added a few clusters of purple cotton, some little gold hearts that I punched out and added the grey Flair which is from an old Cocoa Vanilla Range.

On the top left  corner I have added a little Journaling pocket with some hidden journaling inside which I think adds a nice little effect.

I finished my page off using a roller date stamp and then some doodling around the border.
Have you thought about coming to our Spring Retreat in Bright?? Its such a Fantastic weekend away and is sure to be so much Fun...
I look forward to seeing you all there!
I hope that you have enjoyed my very BUSY layout and I look forward to seeing everyone's challenge entries for the month.

Happy Scrapping Jane xx

August Challenge!

Hello and Welcome to our August Challenge. I have been luck enough to set this challenge for you all! I have had a lot of fun working on it and I hope that you all do as well..
So the challenge for you all this month is to use 3 things from the Tic Tac Toe provided, you do not have to have three in a row just any three that you choose, the next criteria is to use one of the quotes on the picture below, this quote can appear anywhere on the page big or small just as long as its on there is fine.

I have once again managed to create an extremely BUSY layout, I have used A LOT of different products including mixed media, paper, chipboard, clear stickers etc, etc...
From the Quotes I have chosen to use the words Live, Love and Laughter, this goes well with my layout of my two children having fun playing with the hose on a hot spring day!

This is my Layout.
I have started by using one of the pieces of paper from the 12x12 Photo Play Paper, Seeds of Kindness paper pack that I was given to with, I then added some white Gesso to the middle part of my layout and the started working on my background which was done using numerous different Kaisercraft Stencils and some Colour Blast Colour Paste in the colours Royalty, Rose Petal, Bling and Apple of my Eye.
I have also added some stamping to the background using a variety of different stamps and inks including some Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Cracked Pistachio. I have added some of the Kaisercraft clear butterfly stickers to the background as well as some of the Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder in the Silver Dream.
I then cut out various different papers from the paper pack and layered them, I fussy cut quite a lot of the flowers out of one of the patterned papers and added my my Live, Love & Laughter heading which was from a Kaisercraft clear sticker pack.
I have then added the Wow chipboard birdcage, which I painted in some white Gesso then I added some Ranger Distress Oxide in cracked Pistachio then applied a layer of Glossy Accents.

I finished off my Layout by adding some of the stickers from the sticker sheet and a slight splattering of some Tim Holtz distress spray stain in Tarnished Brass.
I had so much FUN with this layout using all of these beautiful products which are available from @www.scrapbookit.com.au, if there is anything you need but cannot find on Jo's website she will be more than happy to help you out with any queries!
Have you payed your deposit yet for our upcoming retreat?? Its going to be such a great weekend! I look forward to seeing some new and old faces...
I hope you have enjoyed my layout and challenge for this month and I will be back a little later in the month with another layout using this amazing paper range!!
Until then Happy Scrapping
