It's December

Good Morning
and welcome to Scrapbookit for our December challenge.

Well are you getting into the Christmas spirit?? The DT girls have shared some great idea's and I'm here today to share my take on Jane's Christmas challenge. Gee when I went looking for Christmas photo's I found I didn't have to many so I am going to make sure this year I get the camera clicking because it really is a wonderful time of the year to make memories.

I found up these adorable photo's of ,My Rudolph',  this month I am using papers from the 6x6 paper pad from Couture creations 'Highland Christmas' by Sue Smyth. I have started with my white background, not that much of it is left showing.
Using a Kaisercraft stencil I have added lots of stars and baubles with the Nuvo mousse.  My tree was a lovely gift from one of my card class ladies and I have matted my photo's with some tissue paper. Some cute stamps and Heidi Swapp letters finished off the page just right.

I also created a really grungy Christmas layout that I wanted to share.

Starting with a white background I have used my Geli plates to create my background. Its a bit hard to share the true colours and textures but there is lots of reds, golds and greens. The stars are actually navy and the baubles are silver. I have used some Nuvo Glitter paste to add the saying ' The possibility of a miracle Believe'. Some Kaisercraft wooden embellishments and 2Crafty chipboard around my patterned paper.  Again my title is from the Heidi Swapp letters.

Here's hoping you are getting organised for the Big day and get a little time to join in our challenge, you could be in the running for a $30 voucher to top up your craft supplies.

Happy Scrapping

Good morning...welcome back to Scrapbookit's Christmas Challenge month!

I'm still pinching myself trying to work out where this year has gone...it is so crazy!

I'm just loving our challenge this month...I have so many great Christmas photos. It's always a nice feeling to scrap Christmas layouts...lots of great moments and memories.

Jane has set us a fantastic challenge this month for Christmas.

Criteria for the challenge is as follows:
*Create a Christmas layout
*Use the name of a Christmas Carol somewhere on the page
*Use some fabric OR tissue paper on the page
*Use white cardstock as the background
*Include a star, Christmas tree and a bauble on the page

It is a great challenge, thanks Jane!
Here is my layout...

I have used the gorgeous Simple Stories Classic Christmas collection. This is such a gorgeous collection. It has two cardstock sticker sheets, 12x12 papers and lots of different journalling card elements.

I started with a white piece of cardstock, some Colour Blast Colour Paste in Bling and the Kaisercraft Fading Dots 12 x 12 Designer Template. The template has larger dots at the bottom, however, I didn't want anything too large so kept to the finer dots in the background by just using the top section of the template.

I knew from the beginning that I was going to us the Christmas Carol "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" ~ I love this carol and it was perfect for my photo. It was also one of the journaling cards in the collection. I combined a couple of smaller journaling cards for the other side of the photo!
The baubles are gorgeous...unfortunately the photo doesn't quite highlight the beautiful gold stars and detail on the baubles.

I have used some black tissue paper in the background behind the patterned papers and have trimmed the papers with a gold paper to tie in the gold highlights in the patterned paper and the Colour Blast paste.
I also used some Uniquely Creative Washi Tape under the photo.
Whilst I had a rather large title with my Christmas Carol title...I just used the matching stickers from the Simple Stories collection to highlight the year.

My little Christmas tree is also a sticker from the Simple Stories collection. I have added a star from the Cocoa Vanilla - You Rock Wood Veneers which I have painted with the Colour Blast Colour Paste in Bling.

Well, I have loved creating this layout. This Simple Stories collection is gorgeous, so easy to use and so many different ways to use it.

I hope that you are going to join us this month for our Christmas Challenge.
Be sure to get your entries in by the 30th.

Happy Preparing for Christmas!

Merry Christmas

Good Morning everybody,
well we definitely have the silly season upon us, which is why we must make time to slow down and enjoy some peaceful scrapping time on our own!
I have just the challenge for that, for this month.

Of course only having 24 sleeps until Xmas it was only fair that this month our challenge be all about Xmas!!!

SO for this month the Criteria is

*A Xmas Layout
*Use the name of a Xmas Carol somewhere on the page
*Use some fabric OR tissue paper on the page
*Use white card stock as the background
*Include a Star, Christmas tree and a Bauble on the page....
(this might sound like a lot BUT you will find that nearly every Xmas paper includes all of these things in their rang, as well as the song title a lot of the patterned papers have these as well)

Here is my Layout!!

This photo was taken at Xmas 2017 just after finishing our beautiful Xmas lunch, it's such a great time to be able to relax and spend with family. I truly do love this time of year.

SO for my layout I have used the white cardstock as my background, I have used both tissue paper which is behind my photo's as well as some fabric which is what i made the cute little black and white check bow from, I have used the Xmas carol title Oh Christmas Tree which was just on one of the patterned sheets of paper that i cut up and I have added a Christmas tree, bauble and star.

I found that my page was quite busy with all of the different patterned paper so there was no real need for me to add any mixed media onto my page, I did finish the page with a cute little doodly border and some hand drawn stars though.

All of the stickers and embellishments that I have used on this page are all from the same collection which is called Here comes Santa by PhotoPlay.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout and challenge for this month, I can't wait to see what you all come up with. Enter your layout for a chance to win a voucher to www.scrapbookit.com.au

Our Little Bunny!

Happy Sunday evening everyone!

I don't know about you but my list leading up to Christmas is getting longer and every time I tick off something I add another ten things to the list.
I hope that you don't have the same problem and that you have enjoyed a relaxing weekend.

I'm here tonight to share with you a cute layout of my niece using this month's kit and challenge requirements. Have you entered our challenge this month?
Here is my layout...Our Little Bunny

The photos on this layout just melt my heart. My niece is such a cutie...this was back when she was just a little poppet. She has grown into a gorgeous girl too!

For this layout I have used the Creative PL papers that our whole design team have used this month. It is so awesome to see how different our layouts all are even though we have used the same pack.
I have layered several of the papers from the collection to create the background.
I have slightly lifted the edges of these papers to create a simple distressed look.

I have backed the photos with tissue paper to soften the edges.
I used some Kaisercraft Mist ~ Aqua and some Vicki Boutin paint ~ Daiquiri Ice to splatter on the background after using some Gesso to soften the colours on the papers.

My favourite part of this layout is the writing on the photo. I was so nervous to do this, in case I ruined it but it turned out...and I love it! The little heart behind the writing is from the Amy Tangerine Sticker Book and the cute little aqua and gold heart are from the Heidi Swapp Stickers.

I have used the cute embellishments from the Creative PL - Hello Gorgeous Embellishment Stickers pack. How sweet is that little scooter?
The glitzy heart is from the Cocoa Vanilla Love Always Bits and Pieces collection and the little diamantes are as well.

I have also used some of the gorgeous Amy Tangerine Stickers under the flower embellishment...they are subtle and very nice.
I have finished with some Thickers - Rockabye for my title, a doily as well as some Heidi Swapp Stickers and a doodly border using a Staedtler Fineliner pen.

I just love how this layout has turned out...I'm really having some fun with all of the girly layouts that I have been creating of late.

I even covered off the challenge requirements...
Fun photo...well my niece was having fun with her bunny ears!
Flowers...yes I have some!
Five embellishments - flower cluster, scooter, heart, diamantes, doily or sticker elements!

I hope that you have your challenge entered...I would love a voucher at this time of year to spend at Scrapbookit...surely you would too???
Not long till entries close...so don't delay.

Hope that you have enjoyed our layouts and projects this month.
Be sure to check in on the 1st of December for our new challenge...looking forward to this one for sure!!!

Enjoy,
~Melx~

Good Times!
Hello! Today I have a bit of a different layout for you, see if you can guess why? I will post the picture of my layout below and see if you can see what's wrong with it!!
Well how did you go? Could you guess what's wrong with my Layout?
I'll tell you- This layout of mine has NO mixed media elements whatsoever!! I think that this is probably the first layout in two years, ever since I fell in love with mixed media that I haven't added any sort of element to the page. It's very strange for me to complete a layout now with nice clean lines and only a few embellishments. I am very happy with this layout, although I'm sure that the next layout I do will make up for it!! haha...

I have once again used The Crerative PL paper pack to do this layout, I really love the background page which looks like it has all different colours of washi tape around the border. I have then kept my lines clean and added more layers under the photo using a lot of the different patterned papers.
The little flamingo in the bottom right corner was from the embellishment pack that came with the paper and the rest of the embellishments are from my stash.

The Love This title and the little silver glitter hearts are from a Heidi Swapp sticker sheet.
All of the products used today are available from www.scrapbookitshop.com.au.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my post.

Art Fun

Good morning and welcome back to Scrapbookit.

Well I'm not sure what's happening with our weather but it's been a bit chilly and damp here in Bright, I guess it is Spring.

I am back today to share a couple more projects I have created using the Creative PL paper pad that the team is working with this month.

For this layout I have used a couple of the papers that featured hearts. I then have used some Nuvo mousse with a KinderKreations stencil to add these super paint brushes to my background.
I have stamped a Darkroom Door stamp and added a sizzix die. I cut my title on the Silhouette to finish off my page.
I love these photo's I get of my beautiful grandaughter  while she is playing and having fun at child care.

'Selphie'

Well as much as I struggle working with photo's of myself I can see it is important for my family to have these in our albums.

I did have fun using my new Hot Foil Stamps from Couture Creations adding some shiny flowers to my background and different colours to my title chipboard from 2Crafty. I also added some Nuvo Mousse through a Prima stencil to add some more flowers.

That's it from me this month but the other team members will be back later to share some more projects to give you some great idea's to get your photo's scrapped.

Don't forget to get your entry in for this months challenge you could be in the running for a $30 voucher . We really need lots of entries in by the 30th November.

Happy Scrapping

Jo.

So Much Fun!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Welcome to November, and my first post for this month. I can't believe we are only a month and a half away from Christmas...I'm not sure where this year has gone!!! It is crazy!

Jo has set an awesome challenge this month...
Fun
Flowers
Five embellishments

The photo that I have used is a funny one of Jo, Anne and I at the Cocoa Vanilla Retreat in Coffs Harbour in May. We had a sensational time...and have made so many beautiful new friends (can't wait to see them in May 2019!)

By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jo (for yesterday)!
We all hope you had a wonderful day and were spoilt rotten!

Here is what I have come up with this month....it's a very busy layout!!!!!

As you may be aware all of the DT are using the papers by Creative PL. Such a bright funky collection...perfect for fun photos!

I actually started this layout by cutting out on my Silhouette Cameo the flower cut file and then backed each petal of the flowers with one of the patterned papers. This took forever...but I love how it turned out.

Then I started on my background...I needed to make it busy so that the theme of fun was created in my project. Just the black cardstock was a good background but it wasn't lively enough for the theme!

I started with the Kaisercraft template which has lots of tiny little dots, it is called Spotty. I used this with the Heidi Swapp Metallic Texture Paste in Teal and Pink.
I then added some Colour Blast Paste in Envy through the template Epi de ble by Carabelle Studio and finished with Colour Blast Paste in Lipstick through the Darkroom Door Polka Dots Template.
It was important between each of these layers to let them completely dry. I then used some watered down white paint to splatter.

I used a variety of the patterned papers behind the photos and then used a black patterned paper to matt. I also matted the photos in one of the black patterned papers.
I created a little pocket for my journaling tag behind the patterned papers.

So I have,
1. Fun ~ my photos are definitely fun and I have used the Heidi Swapp Puffy Stickers for the 'So Much Fun' title.
2. Flowers ~ I think I have this one in the bag!
3. Five Embellishments ~
* Chipboard - several pieces -  #happydays by Dusty Attic, Chipboard bracket from my stash; 2 Crafty Chipboard Circles Set 2 - Laugh circle
*Sequins from the Cocoa Vanilla Love Always Bits and Pieces
* Flair by Just Add Flair
*Scrap FX Silhouettes - circles
*Cotton mesh - coloured with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide

Apologies about my photos...it didn't matter what I did today...they just haven't turned out so well!

Well, I hope that you have enjoyed my post today and that I have given you some inspiration to help with your challenge entry this month. Make sure you share it with us for your chance to win a Scrapbookit Voucher...this close to Christmas who wouldn't want to be grabbing themselves some freebies!!

Be sure to check back into the blog over the coming weeks and see what else Jo and Jane have been creating and I will be back later in the month to share with you another project.

Happy Scrapping!

Fun Run!

Hello
I have a very bright and colourful page for you today! It is a photo from when my daughter competed in the Numurkah 5km Fun Run and managed to come second in the school girls section. Such a great achievement. Here's my Layout.

I have used a collection from Creative PL, I have started my layout with a very bright mixed media background, to make this I have used some Kaisercraft mist's in Denim and also some Art alchemy acrylic paint in pure sunshine and wild fuchsia. I really love these paints the colour is SO vibrant, I have just smeared these around the page.
Next I have used a lot of the different patterned paper and layered it underneath my photo's, I have followed Jo's challenge brief by using the word FUN several times on my page including the title, I have used my five embellishment's these being epoxy dots, gold stars, heart and star wood veneers, some fussy cut flowers and a tag with some string.
I had a lot of fun with this layout and used a lot of different techniques, colours and embellishment's, I hope that you all join in and have a go at entering this great challenge that Jo has set for us.
Mel will be up next with a layout, I can't wait to see what she has been up and what layout she has created for us!

November challenge

Good morning and welcome to Scrapbookit.

Well can you believe we are into November and our year is nearly gone.Things have been slowly getting back to normal after our fantastic Spring retreat was a great success. Plenty of laughs were had at our Saturday night 'Hippie Night', I'm sure you have seen some photos of our antics.

This month it is my turn to set the challenge, so I thought since it is still spring I thought that it would be a great idea to create a project using these criteria.

  • Fun (Photos)
  • Flowers (As many as you like)
  • Five embellishments.
( Could be ink, paste chipboard, wooden, string, washi tape, buttons you get the idea).

This month the team are creating with papers from a 12 x 12 paper pad by Creative PL, each pad has 100 pages so great value.

For my challenge layout I have added some texture in the background using the wonderful 'Nuvo Mousse Paste'. I have used 2 different stencils, the Kaisercraft one has the bigger flowers in pink and the other is a Tim Holtz with tiny flowers in teal.

I have cut some fine flowers and my title with my Silhouette, for the centre of my flowers I have added some buttons, sequins, and some bling. I have added some chipboard and wooden embellishments that I have coloured with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine.

Of coarse the photo's are from our super fun 'Hippie' night at our spring retreat.

So come on and have some fun!! Entries can be added via Facebook, Email, or your personal blog by the 30th November.

The winner will receive a $30  voucher, remember you have to be in it to win so I look forward to seeing your FUN.

I would also like to wish a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Kerry ( the cool hippy with the pink glasses), I hope you have a wonderful day today.

Happy Scrapping

Rahni and Jackson.

Hello and welcome back to another layout here at Scrapbookit! I hope you have all recovered from your retreat hangovers and were able to complete lot's of Layout's at retreat.
I really missed not being able to go but I did manage to find a small amount of time to do some scrapbooking of my own.
The photo's I have used for this layout are some that are 11 year's old, I have been wanting to scrap them for a very long time but hadn't got around to it and I also hadn't had the right paper for them. I was very happy with how this layout turned out and was so glad that I finally had a layout with these photo's of my daughter Rahni and one of my best friend's little boy Jackson who were born 8 weeks apart.
Here's my layout!

I have used the Kaisercraft collection called Hide and Seek. This month I have used it on two very different layouts so it is very versatile.
I have started my layout off with some watered down tim holtz distress paint, I have then used some colour blast paste through my cute little heart stencil randomly all over the page.

The rest of the page I have used a lot of the patterned paper and then embellished with the stickers from the collection as well as the collectible's.
To finish my layout I have added a quick doodly border and it's finished.
Thanks so much for stopping by, Jo has a great challenge for us all next month so keep your eye out for more details at the start of the month.
Happy Scrapping Jane xxx
