It's December

Good Morning

 and welcome to Scrapbookit for our December challenge.

Well are you getting into the Christmas spirit?? The DT girls have shared some great idea's and I'm here today to share my take on Jane's Christmas challenge. Gee when I went looking for Christmas photo's I found I didn't have to many so I am going to make sure this year I get the camera clicking because it really is a wonderful time of the year to make memories.

I found up these adorable photo's of ,My Rudolph',  this month I am using papers from the 6x6 paper pad from Couture creations 'Highland Christmas' by Sue Smyth. I have started with my white background, not that much of it is left showing. 

Using a Kaisercraft stencil I have added lots of stars and baubles with the Nuvo mousse.  My tree was a lovely gift from one of my card class ladies and I have matted my photo's with some tissue paper. Some cute stamps and Heidi Swapp letters finished off the page just right.

I also created a really grungy Christmas layout that I wanted to share.

Starting with a white background I have used my Geli plates to create my background. Its a bit hard to share the true colours and textures but there is lots of reds, golds and greens. The stars are actually navy and the baubles are silver. I have used some Nuvo Glitter paste to add the saying ' The possibility of a miracle Believe'. Some Kaisercraft wooden embellishments and 2Crafty chipboard around my patterned paper.  Again my title is from the Heidi Swapp letters.

Our Little Bunny!

Happy Sunday evening everyone!

I don't know about you but my list leading up to Christmas is getting longer and every time I tick off something I add another ten things to the list.

I hope that you don't have the same problem and that you have enjoyed a relaxing weekend.

I'm here tonight to share with you a cute layout of my niece using this month's kit and challenge requirements. Have you entered our challenge this month?

Here is my layout...Our Little Bunny

The photos on this layout just melt my heart. My niece is such a cutie...this was back when she was just a little poppet. She has grown into a gorgeous girl too!

For this layout I have used the Creative PL papers that our whole design team have used this month. It is so awesome to see how different our layouts all are even though we have used the same pack.

I have layered several of the papers from the collection to create the background.

I have slightly lifted the edges of these papers to create a simple distressed look.

I have backed the photos with tissue paper to soften the edges.

I used some Kaisercraft Mist ~ Aqua and some Vicki Boutin paint ~ Daiquiri Ice to splatter on the background after using some Gesso to soften the colours on the papers.

My favourite part of this layout is the writing on the photo. I was so nervous to do this, in case I ruined it but it turned out...and I love it! The little heart behind the writing is from the Amy Tangerine Sticker Book and the cute little aqua and gold heart are from the Heidi Swapp Stickers.

I have used the cute embellishments from the Creative PL - Hello Gorgeous Embellishment Stickers pack. How sweet is that little scooter?
The glitzy heart is from the Cocoa Vanilla Love Always Bits and Pieces collection and the little diamantes are as well.

I have also used some of the gorgeous Amy Tangerine Stickers under the flower embellishment...they are subtle and very nice.

I have finished with some Thickers - Rockabye for my title, a doily as well as some Heidi Swapp Stickers and a doodly border using a Staedtler Fineliner pen.

I just love how this layout has turned out...I'm really having some fun with all of the girly layouts that I have been creating of late.

I even covered off the challenge requirements...

Fun photo...well my niece was having fun with her bunny ears!

Five embellishments - flower cluster, scooter, heart, diamantes, doily or sticker elements!

So Much Fun!!!

Welcome to November, and my first post for this month. I can't believe we are only a month and a half away from Christmas...I'm not sure where this year has gone!!! It is crazy!

Jo has set an awesome challenge this month...

The photo that I have used is a funny one of Jo, Anne and I at the Cocoa Vanilla Retreat in Coffs Harbour in May. We had a sensational time...and have made so many beautiful new friends (can't wait to see them in May 2019!) 

By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jo (for yesterday)! 

We all hope you had a wonderful day and were spoilt rotten!

Here is what I have come up with this month....it's a very busy layout!!!!!

As you may be aware all of the DT are using the papers by Creative PL. Such a bright funky collection...perfect for fun photos!

I actually started this layout by cutting out on my Silhouette Cameo the flower cut file and then backed each petal of the flowers with one of the patterned papers. This took forever...but I love how it turned out.

Then I started on my background...I needed to make it busy so that the theme of fun was created in my project. Just the black cardstock was a good background but it wasn't lively enough for the theme!

I started with the Kaisercraft template which has lots of tiny little dots, it is called Spotty. I used this with the Heidi Swapp Metallic Texture Paste in Teal and Pink.

I then added some Colour Blast Paste in Envy through the template Epi de ble by Carabelle Studio and finished with Colour Blast Paste in Lipstick through the Darkroom Door Polka Dots Template.

It was important between each of these layers to let them completely dry. I then used some watered down white paint to splatter.

I used a variety of the patterned papers behind the photos and then used a black patterned paper to matt. I also matted the photos in one of the black patterned papers.

I created a little pocket for my journaling tag behind the patterned papers. 

So I have, 

1. Fun ~ my photos are definitely fun and I have used the Heidi Swapp Puffy Stickers for the 'So Much Fun' title.

2. Flowers ~ I think I have this one in the bag!

3. Five Embellishments ~ 

* Chipboard - several pieces -  #happydays by Dusty Attic, Chipboard bracket from my stash; 2 Crafty Chipboard Circles Set 2 - Laugh circle

*Sequins from the Cocoa Vanilla Love Always Bits and Pieces 

* Flair by Just Add Flair

*Scrap FX Silhouettes - circles

*Cotton mesh - coloured with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide

Apologies about my photos...it didn't matter what I did today...they just haven't turned out so well!

It' Saturday!!!

Good Morning

Welcome to Scrapbookit coming to you from our spring retreat today. Waiting for the sun to shine but it's not looking promising.

I am back today to share some more projects that I have created with the Authentique 'Sea Maidan'.

How could I not scrap beach photo's with this gorgeous paper range? Adding a little texture behind the sections and then I added some foil to a Heidi Swapp foam title to complete a quick page that is full of graphics.

This page has plenty of texture using a Kinder Kreations template and the Nuvo texture mousse to create the mermaid tail scales. Layers of paper and some stickers from the range just finished it off.

Well back to the retreat fun, looking forward to sharing some class photo's and some of the antics we will get up to.

Girly Afternoon!

Well, spring has sprung and even though it isn't saying it on the temperature gauge it definitely feels much warmer!

I am here today to share with you my take on Jane's fantastic September challenge.

The challenge is to take inspiration from the mood board; to use the word LOVE somewhere on your project; use a mixed media element and do some fussy cutting.

For my project I have been inspired by the flowers, butterflies and the aqua colour.

Here is what I came up with...

I love this photo of these two great ladies and I on their last visit. We had a lovely afternoon visiting some of the wineries and tourist places in the area.

I have used the gorgeous paper collection by 49 and Market 'Vintage Artistry'...a very user-friendly collection. I started with one of the patterned papers, the Distress Oxide 'Old Paper' and a Kaisercraft template 'Roses' to add some interest.

I then added some Heidi Swapp Metallique Texture Paste 'Teal' through the template. This is my mixed media element and the colour from the mood board.

I layered some pattern papers behind the photo and embossed one piece using the Kaisercraft Embossing Folder - Tiny Roses.

I also added some clear doilies that I had in my collection.

I then went to work on the posy of flowers at the bottom of my layout.

I have fussy cut flowers from the 49 and Market papers and I have also used the Uniquely Creative metal dies 'Bloom Outlines Die.'

I painted some of the die blooms with Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint in 'Light Patina' and 'Vintage Rose'

A couple of stickers from my stash and the layout is complete.

Imagine!

Good Morning!

I have a ripper of a layout for you all to start the month off. In following Jo's challenge which is anything to do with the word Imagine. When I heard what the challenge was going to be I just knew that I had to use this picture of my daughter Rahni taken whilst we were away in QLD recently.

I have made a very busy layout with a lot of products BUT I am very happy with the final result and I think it all works!

 Here's my Layout.

To begin I used some Kaisercraft white cardstock, using the packaging technique I have used some Dylusions Rose Quartz and Bubble-gum

Pink ink spray which I randomly smooshed (haha is that even a word) all over the page, I then used a Darkroom Door Arty Circles stencil with some Dylusions Peony blush paint and randomly placed these circles over the top of the ink. Some splatters of Tim Holtz Tarnished Brass Distress Spray Stain and also some of the Heidi Swapp Mint Color Shine and my background was finished.

 

The paper I have used behind the photo was Echo Park Imagine That, I randomly cut circles out freehand and glued them mostly just in the middle part of the page. I added some doodles over the top of some of the circles and around the edge of the page.

How cool is that striped Washi I have used sporadically around the page? its kind of hard to see but it has the cutest little gold pineapples on it. Just adorable. It came in a pack of four from Creative PL.

For my Imagine chippy which is from The Dust Attic I used some Ranger blendable dye ink in Garden Patina, I then added some Gold Metallic Gilding Wax over the top, I REALLY love the effect this has given the chippy.

To finish my Layout I have added some cute little hearts that I have punched with my tiny heart punch and added the quote up the top which I love and I think was very appropriate for the photo and the theme!

Together Forever

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!

A special Happy wedding anniversary to my best friend! ❤️❤️❤️

20 years of marriage we celebrate today and appropriately enough both of the layouts I feature today are all about Jason and I!!!!

I will apologise upfront for the terrible photos of my projects. They are not great, however, the weather here over the weekend was miserable and didn't help with the photos!!!

I have loved working with this gorgeous Kaisercraft collection this month, Stargazers. It is sensational!

When I first received it from Jo I was not sure how I would feel about it at all. I loved the colours but wasn't sure about the whole 'stargazers/space' theme to it.

My first layout to share with you today is of the two of us last year for our 19th wedding anniversary!

I have followed the challenge by using the challenge sketch and I have used two of the items...washi and stencils!

Here it is...

Whilst I used the sketch, I did make some alterations...only one photo!!!

Here is the sketch...

I have used a pattern paper from the Stargazers collection, gesso and distress ink with the cutest little stencil by Darkroom Door (Small Stencil) - Polka Dots

I added a variety of the patterned papers, some collectables from the Stargazer collection and assorted washi tape.

I added some gorgeous heart stickers from the American Crafts - Vicki Boutin - #Sticker Book.

My title is using the alpha stickers by Doodlebug - Loopy Lou. I think these were part of my stash and an older set of letters. I truly LOVE how this layout turned out and adore that patterned background paper.

I was at Scrapbookit over the weekend and I did spy some more Kaisercraft - Stargazers kits. Be sure to get in quick...I am sure you will love it!!!!

At our recent Scrapbookit Retreat, I also created another layout using the Stargazers collection.

I actually scraplifted Julie's layout (thanks Jules!)

Again, it is of Jason and I. However, this photo is a tiny bit older and was taken in 2010!

I started with a plain navy cardstock and applied some heavy gesso as well as some blue and black acrylic paint to create my background.

I added some of the patterned papers and a part of the large floral on the sticker sheet from the same collection.

I used two different heart stencils, the larger one Scrap FX Heart Confetti and Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts Stencil, and some of the new Heidi Swapp Metallic Texture Paste - Silver. It is so fantastic to use! Easy to apply through the stencils and dries nicely.

I also painted the random chipboard heart with the texture paste.

I used one of the 2Crafty Chipboard Word Circles Set 2 chipboard circles and added the word 'forever.'

I finished my layout by adding collectables from the collection and heart and arrow stickers from the American Crafts - Vicki Boutin - #Sticker Book.

Girls v Boys

Morning Everyone!

We had so much inspiration put before us at the Cocoa Vanilla Retreat!

I spent most of the time making use of the challenges or scraplifting......something that I rarely do!

I also used a lot of Cocoa Vanilla papers over the weekend. I just LOVE the collections that Zoe designs...they are always soooo easy to use and so easy to mix and match.

One of the challenges we were presented with was the Opposites Attract Challenge. We were asked to use a boy range for a girl layout and a girl range for a boy layout!!

Here is what I came up with...

The Best of Times using the 2016 collection Endless Summer

Gorgeous using the 2015 collection Made of Awesome

For the layout The Best of Times I have also used some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in the background.

Fo the layout Gorgeous I have splattered some Colour Blast Shimmer Cube in Blush. I have also used it to add colour to the edges of the patterned papers. I also used the Kaisercraft 6x6 Spotty template and some of the Heidi Swapp Pink Metallic Texture Paste.

Simple layouts but I love how they have turned out!!

Havana Nights FUN!!!

Good Morning everyone and welcome back to the fun at Scrapbookit.

March is slipping past at a fast rate so have you joined the fun of our monthly challenge??

I am back to share some more layouts I created with the Kaisercraft 'HavanaNights' range. This is certainly a diverse range of papers with floral's, mosaics,and lots of colours. 

This cheeky photo just suited the blues in the mosaic page that I used as a big frame. I used the sticker strips from the range to add a background for my photo. The words are from 'Dusty Attic' and I have just sprayed them with the Prima Colour bloom and also flicked it around to create the dots on the page.

 I loved creating the background of this page using Dylusions paints, inks and the Heidi Swapp texture paste. The stencil is from Dusty Attic and the stamp is a Kaisercraft one.

Last but not least is this funky page with all the fussy cut flowers from the page. I have added lots of dimension with the collectables in the range. 

 All of these products are available instore, so if you would like to get creating drop by the store or send a message and I will sort out all your scrapping needs.

Welcome to Scrapbookit and the start of another week, hope you all had a wonderful weekend and had the chance to get crafty.

I am here to share my interpretation of the great challenge that Jane has set for us this month.

It's all about 'Shapes'

*Use circles, hearts, rectangles and triangles on your layout or card or journal page  * Make reference to a shape in your title ie, Circle of life, Follow your heart, You're a Star etc, etc..  AND  *Include on your Layout, card or Art Journal a Technique OR Product that you have never tried before..

Okay so I have focused on the Heart shape for my layout but have plenty of other shapes in my background using the paper range Kaisercraft 'Havana Nights'. The paper hearts are cut/punched from the range and I also used some stickers from the range.  

Yes more wedding photos, but hey you work with what you have right.  The chipboard is from the ScrapFX range which I have sprayed with Prima Color Bloom 'Sorbet' and then added some artalchemy Opal Magic wax to make it a little subtle.

Although I didn't add a new technique I did play with this new product that is available instore. It is from Heidi Swapp and its called Metallic Texture Paste 'Teal', I just loved it as it is so smooth and was really easy to spread through my stencils. My title is the stickers which both refer to my hearts.
