LOVE!

Morning Everyone!

I know...I'm really annoying you all this month aren't I? So many posts in one month. You will all be relieved to know that I head back to work tomorrow so I will slow down a little...:)

This share is so very apt this weekend.
Please remember always to hold your loved ones close, to look after each other and to cherish every single moment that you have.

My layout is titled 'Love This So Much!'

I have used Kaiser Mists to create the splatters in the background. I did this after I had adhered the patterned paper from Amy Tangerine 'Oh Happy Life'

I have used the Scrap FX Circle Border Template and some Colour Blast Colour Paste in Dusty Charcoal.

The flowers are by Manor House. Such gorgeous colours.
The twine that I have used is a random twine that I had in my collection.

The tag that I have created has written a little message to my hubby. I decided to use some black cardstock at the top and doodle a little pattern onto it so that it stands out. It also helps to fit another part of the mood board challenge into my layout.

All of the products that I have used are available on the Scrapbookit Online Store If you can't find what you are after be sure to email Jo (joanne@scrapbookit.com.au)...she will get it sorted for you.

Entries close tomorrow for our January Challenge. Be sure to get yours in!

Look forward to sharing some new creations with you next month!

Cards - Amy Tangerine :)

Morning Everyone!

Just popping by super quickly with some cute cards I have created using some of the gorgeous Amy Tangerine 'Oh Happy Life' paper pad.

Before I do though I wanted to remind you of the January mood board challenge...you only have a few days to get your entry in!! You can find all the details in the right hand panel of this blog or on our Facebook page. Would love to see your interpretation!

If you have seen my card making before you would know that I don't fancy myself as a card maker but also that I keep them reasonably basic and simple.
Here are the three cards that I have made...

Card #1 - L-O-V-E
Besides the gorgeous paper from Amy Tangerine I have added some Colour Blast Colour Paste - Lipstick and Envy,  with two different templates in the background.
It is hard to see, but some white cotton in the background and then some bling, a Manor House flower, some washi tape and that cute little butterfly from the Kaisercraft Decorative Dies - Birds and Butterflies.  I have also splattered some Dylusions white paint over the card when done.
What I love about this paper collection are the little word cards with sentiments on them...fantastic for cards!

Card #2 - Wild About You
Again, I have used some of the Colour Blast colour paste, but this time it is Sunshine with the Scrap FX Circle Border Template.
I have used a Scrap FX Chevron chippie as a feature and have watered down some Tangareen Dream Colour Blast Colour Paste to paint it with.

Card #3 - Enjoy!
A very, very simple and basic card that you could quickly throw together in a hurry....you know those times when you need a card and you have none.
The patterned paper is perfect because it creates its own interest.

Well, hope you have seen something to inspire you today and if not I hope that you have been prompted to make sure you find some crafty time in your day.

Enjoy your day!

February Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to February,

A new month means a new challenge for us to get our mojo flowing, and this month Mel Field has set us a fantastic mood board to create from.
With this challenge you can grab any part of the mood board that inspires you to create a layout, a card or an OTP project.

Here is Mel's Mood Board:

Okay so this month I chose to create with the new Kaisercraft 'Shine Bright' range which I found to be so versatile to use with many of my photo's. For my challenge LO I focused on the word LIFE , the colours and the row of houses which I recreated with an older stencil I had. I have used a captured moments card as my title, some 'Dylusion's' spray and some of the collectables in the range for my embellishments.

Here is my page:

Here is another Layout I have created grabbing the inspiration from Who are you? : Using lots of flowers from GreenTara, ManorHouse and Kaisercraft. A flourish from AFWAB and more of the collectables.

Lastly for today's share I have this page, which is a different style. I have used more of the captured moments cards as the mounts for my photos, Kaisercraft acrylic words, and WOW chipboard which I have embossed to give it a matching colour.

I hope I have given you some ideas to help you get crafting, don't forget entries for this challenge will be due on 28th Feb. Make sure you come and visit the blog often to see what the other DT members have come up with from Mel's Mood Board.

If you are interested in attending our scrapbooking retreat in Harrietville on the weekend of March 13-15, Deposits must be paid for ASAP or you will miss out.

Happy Scrapping

Jo Caird.

Adore Forever...

Happy New Year Everyone!

Welcome to my first post for 2015! I hope that everyone has had a wonderful festive season and a great start to the New Year. 2015...Wow!

As this post goes live I am on holidays with my family in Moruya just near Batemans Bay in NSW. We have spent some time in Avoca Beach, then Canberra and this is the last week or so of our summer holiday.
I love holidays. I hope you are all having a break no matter where you are and that you are staying safe. All of the fires in SA and VIC at the moment are devastating. If you are affected please know our thoughts are with you all.

This month at Scrapbookit, the beautiful Brenda has provided us with the challenge, a tic tac toe!
I love tic tac toes because you have a little bit of variety with what you can do and if you are like me you can be a little naughty and slip in a few extras from the grid!!!!

Here is the tic tac toe grid that Brenda has set up for us...what a great selection!

I have decided to use one of the diagonals...'Flowers, Journal (more than a few lines) and Stencil' as my main focus for this layout.

Here is what I came up with...

This is my gorgeous Nan who turned 85 last year. I used an app on my iPhone called 'Color Splash' to remove the background colours on this photo and just have the main focus of the photo coloured.

As always, Jo has challenged me with an awesome pack of goodies. As you all probably know girly papers and I rarely cross paths but Jo never lets me get away with sitting in my comfort zone and that is what I love most about designing for Scrapbookit...I am forever challenged!

My pack included the Bo Bunny paper collection 'Madeleine.' Such gorgeous papers that include pinks, greys, mint greens and maroons.

I started this layout with a piece of Coconut Kaisercard which I sprayed with Heidi Swapp Colourshine 'Blush'...my first deviation from the grid (whoops!). I then used the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil 'Doily' with some moulding paste in random places around the cardstock. Once dry, I swiped the raised moulding paste with Burgundy Versa Colour Ink. Here are some close ups of the stencil work.

I then used some of the patterned papers to create a patchwork effect behind the photo. Some of these squares I have raised and punched a decorative edge. All sqaures have been inked using the Kaisercraft Grey Ink.
I have mounted the photo on some patterned paper from the collection and some Kaisercard 'Steele' cardstock.
I have also fussy cut some leaves and a birdcage from the patterned paper to add to the features on this layout.

The next part of the grid that I have used is 'Flowers' I have used a mix of Manor House and Kaisercraft paper flowers to create a flower cluster on the layout.
I have also stamped some Burgundy flower stamps from my pack. Another of my deviations - stamps! Also in my pack was a word stamp 'Adore' which I also stamped in this area using the Grey Kaisercraft Ink.
I have also added some Pearl embellishment swirls from Flourish with a Bling to this cluster.

Here is a close up of the cluster...

The last feature of my layout taken from the Tic Tac Toe grid is the Journal (more than a few lines). Journalling is such an important feature of scrapbooking layouts. In years to come I want people, especially my son, to look at these layouts and to know and have access to stories and people who are part of his past.
However, being that this requirement was 'more than a few lines' I didn't want the story to be the feature of this layout. I wanted the photo to be the focus. So I decided to hide my journalling. Behind the photo I have created a pocket using some foam tape and another piece of cardstock. I cut a piece of Kaisercard 'Ballet' with a tab on the left hand side and inked the edges with Kaiscraft Grey Ink.
This is where I journalled.
On the tab I used the Bo Bunny Combo Stickers for the word 'Forever.'

Here is a close up of the journalling card behind the photo...

And to finish a shot of the layout with the journalling card pulled out.

I hope that this has inspired you to join in our challenge or to purchase some of these great products from the Scrapbookit Online Store...www.scrapbookit.com.au
If you can't find what you are looking for send an email to Jo and she will help you out. She is always more than happy to help you out with all you need to get your scrap on!!

Make sure you pop back again throughout this week to see what else I have created using this Bo Bunny collection.

Until then,
Happy Scrapping!

Rustic Harmony

Morning everyone,
I'm back today to share my projects for this month. Firstly is my take on this month's sketch challenge, I have used the beautiful new release from Kaisercraft 'Rustic Harmony'. I have tipped the sketch on it's side to suit my photo. I have added lots of Manor House flower's, a Scrap FX title which I sprayed with Heidi Swapp Colour shine and then embossed it with the new 'Tinby Designs Metallic  Melts'  Sherwwod green. These new embossing powders are available in 12 colours and will be up in the store soon. I have used some of the Capture Life cards from Rustic Harmony and I used the new Kaisercraft Die cuts to create my vines, I added some new washi tape, a manilla tag inked with Distress inks and I'm pretty happy with it.

My next share is a project we did at the Reatailers day back in July in which Melissa Kennedy taught this class to show case this beautiful new paper range. We did both a 12x12 layout and a PL page.

Well that's it from me, dont forget to call back often to see what the team has to share this month. Lots of new products and ideas.

Have a great day

Another from Pebbles

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my second post for this month!
This month the whole design team has been using the papers from the 12x12 Pebbles Birthday paper pad.
You would agree that we have seen some awesome inspiration from the team, all using such different ways to share a great paper range with you.

It is also so lovely to look to the right of the blog and to see layouts from you! Wow...they are amazing...all with different elements from the tic-tac-toe board. Thank you so much for joining in...we look forward to seeing so many more this month.

Remember the challenge this month is to choose your inspiration from the tic-tac-toe board.

You can choose horizontal, vertical or diagonal...whatever takes your fancy AND if you add some of the other elements...that is OK too!

I have created a layout using the diagonal - bling, celebrate and flowers and I am sure that these elements will be very obvious to you in my layout.

This layout is using a photo from my niece's 3rd Birthday.

A simple layout...but I wanted it to be delicate and sweet...I hope that I have done that!!

I sprayed the 'Coconut Kaisercard' with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine ~ Primrose.

I used a Kaiser template and some texture paste to add some inconspicuous texture to the layout.

How gorgeous is the Manor House die cut??? Jo has plenty in store.

I have used some Kaiser flowers and Kaiser Rhinestones for embellishments.

Here is a close up...

I have used the Kaisercraft Birthday Clear Stamps for my little birthday message.

I have just loved working with this collection of papers. They are so versatile, bright and bring lots of fun to my layouts.

Make sure you pop on over to the Scrapbookit Online Store to check out the great products that Jo has instore.

I hope that I have inspired you this month...even just a little...so that you can enter our challenge. I look forward to seeing what you come up with...you still have 9 days to get yours in!!!

Thanks for visiting...happy scrapping!

August Challenge is Up!!

Welcome everyone to another month and another challenge,

This month it's my turn to challenge your creativity so i thought I would try something a bit different.

This is a TIC TAC TOE challenge where you  must choose a line combination from the grid to create the elements of your project. ( You can also add other elements from the grid as well but you must comment which line you have used). I hope you have fun playing along. Entries need to be in by 30th August to be in the running for a massive prize pack so hit your stash or purchase something new to play with.

So I have created two layouts to show how this challenge can be interpreted in totally different ways. All the design team have been given a kit this month using papers from the same 'Pebbles' 12x12 Birthday Paper pad which is available at Scrapbookit.

My first page I have chosen the 1st column Teal, Journaling, and  Flowers. So I haven't actually journaled in a traditional sense but I have used the 'Captured Moments Sea Breeze' stickers from Kaisercraft,, I have made lots of paper flowers and some Kaisercraft Blooms which I coloured with some Colour Mist to suit. Added some washi tape and stamped flowers to finish it off.

My second page I chose Bling, Texture, and Black& White. I have added texture with the Kaisercraft stencil ,modelling paste and black Gesso, FWAB Flourish and flower, washi tape, I have added a 'Scrap FX ' Word title, and cut the chevron embellishment from 'Tim Holtz' die. I also added some 'Manor House flowers

Just a reminder that the 'Scrapbookit Retreat' is happening again (you know you want a fabulous weekend away) on October 24th-26th at the Mountain View Holiday Resort Harrietvile. Deposits must be paid by the 30th August to secure your spot so get on to it .

Have a great weekend, and get crafty

Jo.

Nature's Beauty

Hi everyone, it's Cindy here with you today.
Thanks for joining me here on the Scrapbookit blog, today I'd like to share with you the latest layout I created "Nature's Beauty".

The photo was taken at a recent retreat, such a beautiful serene place.  I used papers from the Echo Park paper range "Walking on Sunshine", I used Fancy Fish along with strips from, Sailboats, Direction Arrows and Oceanfront Views.
I created this layout to play along with the current challenge, using the mood board and a stencil.  For this layout I chose the blues and oranges from the mood board to work with and I actually used two stencils, the Chevron Stencil for the background, and a little word stencil.

A close up of the background detail; showing the texture created by the Chevron Stencil, the strips of the other papers and also the thin check ribbon (Sullivans) I added (you need to look closely to see it). You can also see the Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays that I used to colour and drip on the background.

A close up of the word stencil that Jo sent in my kit, inked at the edge of the photo.

I removed the yellow and black centre from a Manor House flower and created my own blue centre with some Ribtex beads, I also used some of the cheap paper flowers to created a couple of 3d flowers .

For my title I used the Scrap FX Nature's Beauty.
I used some open circle grommets in shades of blue to further texturize the layout.  These are an older product, but give such a great look and can be so versatile, get yours from Jo while they last.

For a little extra detail I added a Scrap FX flourish Doodad G, which I had cut in half and put on the corner of my photo.

Just to refresh your memory of the details of the challenge I set this month:
1. To create your project using a stencil
(just cause I love them, lol)
 2. To take your inspiration from my mood board
3. Have fun

I hope that I have given you some more ideas on how to use this mood board, and that you will come and join in the fun and who knows maybe even win yourself a prize.

till next time
happy creating

July's Challenge

Hi everyone, it's Cindy here with you today.

Thanks for joining me here on the Scrapbookit blog, this month Jo has asked me to set the month's challenge.
I hope that you will come and join in the fun, and who knows maybe even win yourself a prize.

My Challenge for July is :

1. To create your project using a stencil (just cause I love them, lol)
2. To take your inspiration from my mood board
3. Have fun

There's plenty here in this mood board to inspire you, so it shouldn't be to hard to come up with some great layouts.

Now, here's my take on the challenge, I hope it gives you lots of ideas.
From the mood board I went for the reds and blacks and the word Relax and used these to create my layout... "Relax"

So this is a pic of my furbaby Henri, he certainly knows how to relax.  In this pic he is sprawled out on my lap while I am trying to create...
This month Jo sent me the Echo Park "Walking on Sunshine" paper pack to work with, great bright colours and patterns on one side of these papers and some fantastic simpler patterns and colours on the backs of them, these are just my style.... for this layout I used "Beach Stripe" which had this gorgeous red on the back...

Also in my pack this month this cute little wood word which I painted black to create my title.
In this pic you can see how I have used the Darkroom Door French Script stamp to randomly stamp my background.

Here you can see I embellished the page with some Kaisercraft flowers that I sprayed and layered up and a large Manor House flower which I removed the centre from to use as a base.

A close up of my stenciling work.... I used the Scrap FX Wood Grain Stencil. Here I used it sideways to imitate Henri's striped legs and face.... I used modeling paste and sprays to imitate Henri's coat colours.

Doesn't Henri look so relaxed and content.

Well I hope you all enjoy this challenge and I can't wait to see all your takes on the mood board.  Don't forget that Jo has all these great products at the Scrapbookit Store.

till next time
happy creating

My Best Friend

Morning Everyone,

Well what do you think of the Design Team Girls Creations?? Great aren't they!! Brenda has given us a really broad challenge this month which is great, so today it is my turn to show you my take on the 'Friends' challenge for june.

I have used the new 7 Dots Studio ranges of papers 'Nature Walk'

I have fussy cut (yes me) the tree from the 12x12 'Tree' Template from WOW which I sprayed with Dylusions 'Slate Grey'. I have used the new Frames from Scrap FX around my photo, and added the 'Prima' embelishments as the inspiration for my journaling which I have used the 'Kaisercraft' mini letters. My title is from 'Heidi Swapp' letters which I also sprayed. I also added some hearts with some Gel Medium and the Scrap FX Template.

In my second layout I have also used 7 Dots Studio papers 'Messy Head'.

I have used lots of the 'Heidi Swapp' Mini stencils, a mixture of flowers, some WOW wood veneers, washi tape, and the 'Darkroom Door' stamp for my Title/ Journaling.

I hope you get a chance to play along with our challenge, remember to send through a photo of your work to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au before June 30th.

Just a reminder if you are interested or know somebody who is interested in attending our retreat in October please call me on 0407058604 for all the details and payment options.

Have a great week

May's GTD and Challenge

Morning all and welcome to May,
I would like to introduce our last Guest Design Team Member for this term, I hope you enjoy the Inspiration from

Jenn Seymour

Hi!  My name is Jenn Seymour and I am very excited to be the Guest Designer for May here at Scrapbookit.  I am a mother of two beautiful little girls and I like to scrap in my spare time, mostly photos of my girls!  I try to keep my scrapbooking about the photo or photos as I hope that one day the girls will enjoy looking back at them.  I also love making off the page projects and cards to give to friends and family.  I like to keep things pretty simple and don't usually put too much on a page.  And I usually get drawn towards certain colours…..I think everyone who has girls finds it hard to get away from pink and purple!!  And I almost always use bling, again I guess this is influenced by my girls!

This month Jo sent me the beautiful Honey Chai Collection by Kaisercraft, so pretty, yet so far from what I usually use! So this is my challenge for May…..

Your layout must have the following

1 Black and White photo
2 copies of your Black and White photo (any sizes)
3 Embellishments (at least!)
4 patterned papers and a
5 word title!

Using a paper collection I would not normally pick was so much fun, thanks Jo, it definately was a challenge!  Here is what I came up with.

I have chosen a photo of my Husbands Nana and Pop on their wedding day.  Jo also sent me some amazing flowers from Manor House, that matched this paper so well, I counted them as my 3 embellishments, and as you can see I used a few extra embellishments.  My 4 patterned papers are obvious, as is my 5 word title.  Here is a close up of those beautiful flowers.

After finishing this page, I was having so much fun with green, so I thought why not do another!  I didn't follow the challenge rules for this one, but used the Honey Chai Collection again, only adding some white and brown card stock, the words from my silhouette cameo and the washi tape.

I also whipped up a few cards, just to see what else I could do with green…..I think it's becoming my new favourite colour!

All in all I had a great time working with the Honey Chai Collection, I hope what I have done gives you some inspiration and remember all these great papers can be found at the Scrapbookit store.
Good luck with your challenge entries and be sure to get them to Jo before the end of the month :)

Jenn

Thanks Jenn for sharing your great work, I look forward to seeing everyone's challenges. Don't forget to e-mail your entry to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au before the 30th May.

Don't forget that we are having our 'Mother's Day Crop 10th may from 10am til late, Card class is 9th May from 10am and our Mighty 20% Off Sale is on all Month.

Happy Scrapping
Jo
